History's Greatest Hero
The 80's were the height of the Cold War. I can understand him being reprimanded. What would have happened if that were a real launch? At least he still got a pension to retire on.

How much do YOU know about the Gospels? Take the quiz here!
Do you disagree with the quiz? Mind showing me why? The quiz is correct in showing that the Bible is not a history textbook, or a science textbok. What the quiz fails to do is discredit Christianity because Christianity isn't based on stupid little facts. It's based on theological truths that are consistent throughout scripture. Right. Jesus still rose from the grave, regardless of how many angels were in the tomb when the woman/women arrived. While translations may have changed minor facets, the basic overlying premise is the same. You know, we learn this sort of thing in Sunday School. It doesn't make you "smart" to recount things that 13 year olds learn in church... *EDIT: The last two sentences are directed at Kirbybeam, not Insane.

The first two posters lie. Every answer is incorrect, as obviously the site is destined to insult the continuity based on different viewpoints. Har Har Har.

Animals - Do they have rights?
Thanks Ghostranger, but I failed. The information was in the Wiki, but there was no link. Just a link to the Texas Supreme Court Wiki. I are teh stewpit.

Animals - Do they have rights?
Do you have to be a member of Wiki to do it? If so, I don't even want to bother. I get enough spam mail. And I'm lazy. If you really want the case, search the Texas Supreme Court archives.

Animals - Do they have rights?
Gah, sorry. There was a link to the news article in our town's Wiki in the Scandals section, but that entire section of the Wiki got deleted sometime in the past week :(.

History's Greatest Hero
Over the passage of time, many heroes come to mind. Whether it be the ancient exploits of Hercules, the daunting heroism of our fighting men, famous leaders such as Churchill, humanitarians such as Mother Theresa, and the fictional Superman...none have literally saved the world from ultimate destruction. Then what build of man is this great hero? He is not strong. His voice is weak. But let's face it. If it were not for the hard will of Lieutenant Colonel Stanislav Petrov, none of us would be here reading about him, and Earth would be a glass sphere. So let's have it for Comrade Petrov, without whom none of us would exist.

Animals - Do they have rights?
If by that you mean I PM you the case which lists my hometown AND my name on a petition, then yes. By forum rules, no. Is there one needed? My basic premise is that kids went around butchering cats and they went to a mental ward. In addition, thier parents had to pay claim to the 87 families who's cats got killed. Whoo?

Animals - Do they have rights?
American of Irish origin, and I live in Texas to boot. They were malicious killings, and they are actually serving time in a prison for mental cases. Our county had a huge debate over the issue of animal rights and it went to the Texas Supreme Court.

Animals - Do they have rights?
I am Irish. Some kind of meat and potatoes make up practically every meal in my diet. Animals are granted natural rights. If someone goes out and starts slaughtering animals with a machete whether they be cat or armadillo, it's wrong. In fact, my local police force busted 7 teens who were going around killing cats. It's been 10 years and they are barely halfway through thier jail sentence. As for lab mice and such? As long as they are given painless treatment, I do not mind. I would rather a horrific side-effect of a new drug happen to a lab mouse rather than a hobo who needed money.

The craziest thing you ever heard.
My screenshot key is teh broke, so I haven't been able to record my fabulous faux pois. However, my defining moment was 4 months after I started playing. A friend and I had been training in Varrock for a while and he told me: "Dude, did you know there is a city called Falador!" My reply was "no man, that's in the member's area, I think." Yeah, that's right...it took me 4 months to find Falador.

TET Slave Auction Drop Party Discussion-Commentary-Pic Topic
We will try. We were trying to find a time that could include the Aussies, Americas (north and south) and to a degree Europe. Unfortunately, we had to inconvenience the small number of Eastern European players in order to satisfy the majority of Tip.Iters. In the future, I will try to make sure ya'll get in the fun!

Farming With Kharils Bug
It's not a ghost, your cat is trying to be like the Coppertone dog. *wonders if the children in this forum will EVER get that joke* If not, I am too old. It's probably just a netcode bug. They won't roll back the changes on the other armor, they will just fix it. In the meantime, just make sure you are wearing something under your skirt while you farm.

What's with little kids these days.
Hah, I guess I am halfway between the extremes. I have fun on computers, and have fun outside everyday. In 2.5 years, I will be teaching history and high school athletics. Not so pale, not so smart. I'll let my kids play games if they want to, but I will be strict on what they play and watch. That, and I will take them out and have some fun in the sun. But yeah, some kids today are too spoiled in that regard.

On this day...(12/04/61)
Man's first step on Mars: "That's one small step for Visa, one giant leap for mankind!" What's so sad about Space Exploration as told by Star Trek? They have cured hunger, disease, unrest. Not that it will happen, but hey!

help me figure out what i got for easter...EDITED!!!!!!!
By asking us the answer to the question, you are only proving your mother right. Since you can't figure it out, you are asking us. So you will not prove your mother wrong, we will.

Actually, April 12th 2061 is the actual date of the first Warp test according to the Star Trek Technical Manual, and reported in the feature film: First Contact.

Errrr?
You have to note that if we detect a launch towards us, we won't have time to program the guidance computers of our own missiles. We have targets selected for lots of countries, in case of the worst. One missile is not pointed at just one target.

If you had the money?
Pay off my student loans, buy a new Saturn, get a nice house for my family (by nice I mean a normal one) and put the money in a secret account with high interest and use it to pay for my kid's school. Eventually I would buy our old farm back and build a house there.

human...are we really the most advaced race on earth?
Dolphins can communicate much furthar unaided than we can. Dolphins can communicate on the interweb? To thier friends on land? Wow, try reading before responding. My point was that we are communicating on a network with people across the world with no restrictions (sans those we put into place eg censors). A dolphin might be able to cry for help from miles away, but can they communicate with another dolphin 4000 miles away ON LAND! And without effort, I might add.

Errrr?
Really? I don't mean to be picky but I didn't think that was the case anymore. As far as I know there are seven countries with nuclear weapons, the US, Russia, the UK, France, China, India, Pakistan and North Korea. Out of those i'd say only the first 5 have the capabilities to deliver them over a long enough range to target countries on a global scale (ICBMs and submarines with ballistic capabilities). And ironically they're the five permanent members of the UN security council. I know that doesn't mean anything but I thought since the cold war countries only had nuclear weapons delivery strategies developed to attack their "allies" in a theoretical sense. I could be wrong but it's just what I thought. China has ICBM's, you forget that. It's practically an "Ice War." You are also forgetting countries with medium and low-range nuclear cruise missles, which foremost of all includes our ally Britain. Many other nations have this capability. It would not be hard to design an oil tanker with missile racks and shower the US with complete destruction, while ensuring that the Strategic Air Command has absolutely nothing to retaliate on. You can't break down nuclear power solely on the basis of ICBM capabilities. As stated before, Israel has racks upon racks of atomic bombs that can be delivered by aircraft.

On this day...(12/04/61)
On April 12th, 2061, Zephram Cochrane launched an ICBM from a decomissioned World War 3 missile base in Montana. Upon reaching orbit, a craft emerged from the nose of the missile, which fell harmlessly to earth. The craft moved two nacelles into position, then jumped to 1.04 times the speed of light... ...Or so says the Star Trek Universe. Gene Roddenberry's point when setting this date was to remind us how far back we are falling on space exploration. The day we explore the stars, I hope that world hunger has been solved, peace is everywhere, and Earth is truly a paradise. Until that day happens, I don't really care about space travel. We need to deal with our terrestrial problems before dealing with the extraterrestrial ones.
