  1. I would imagine that if such a situation occured, they would already know about abortion. They would be talking to me as a friend or acquaintance, not in a professional capacity. Of course I would be frank with them. However, I can't really think of a situation like that outside of my professional responsibility. Not many strangers off the street would ask you about pregnancy woes. And my friends would know my opinions on the matter in the first place.
  2. My thought on that is if my opinion carries no weight with them, they can do whatever they want. I'm not going to go tie them to a pole to force my will upon them.
  3. Outside of work, yes. I also work infrequently with social workers who could find another family to take care of the child. These are private case workers, not working for the state. That means they take pride in finding good homes. If it weren't for my job, I wouldn't have even brought up the abortion clinics. And to take it further, I'd probably chastise them for having premarital relations based on my religious doctrines.
  4. You get more fish with more people playing, of course.
  5. Baffles me. My job entails me to be liberal. I don't like it, but it pays the bills.
  6. How am I not open-minded about beliefs? Well, you are constantly hounding me about mine, after all. Exactly. I'd be happy if abortion was banned, but I can't stop people from doing it. It hurts me that thousands of fetuses are killed (whether or not you believe they are alive or not) every month.
  7. While Nuclear energy is clean, it presents the same problem as coal. While not producing air pollution, nuclear rods create slag and radioactive water that require expensive storage, and will eventually threaten the environment.
  8. Considering that you use it by breaking it, I am going to have to say no. Works like teleport tablets.
  9. Not an update, just a visual bug fix. Prayer is just the same as it always has been.
  10. Not the best armor statwise, but aesthetically it's pretty nice.
  11. Andrew's goal (stated in the forums) is to make the RS official client not only just as usable as Swift, but even moreso.
  12. Andrew is still working on clan chat and some other basic utilities (calculators, I think. Paul told me a few months ago.) So the party isn't over. This does "own" world switchers as Andrew has tailored his world switcher to Jagex's needs. Unless somehow Zybez or SS gets their hands on the RuneScript code, their switchers will still be illegal to use.
  13. Wind Power :) I live in a region where it's totally feasible.
  14. The President's body guards are under orders and law to arrest him if he tries to violate the Executive Doctrine. And I am moderately anti-video game. But only in the fact that children get their hands on games too easily. Therefore my qualm is not with the games themselves, but the stores that sell them and the parents.
  15. Sorry, Sat, but hah! That's like calling Fox News 'Fair and Unbiased.' I could say that if Hillary was President, she would veto any legislation designed to limit abortion just because she supports it. Even if that bill had a legitimate cause. Her decisions wouldn't be limiting anyone though would they? She's basically saying "If you think it's wrong to have an aborition don't have one. If you need one the service is avaliable". Thats not unfair, nor is it biased. It's pro-choice, less government interferance and allowing people to freely choose for themselves. Banning aborition is not the same because thats limiting choice, not granting it. Even you said that you gave addresse of abortion clinics to people, and so you support people's decision to make a choice. I don't see why you are republican. Because unlike you and many others on both sides, I am open minded about other people's beliefs. Now, I must be biased. I sit down with the boy and girl and explain exactly how abortions are carried out as I would explain the local adoption situation. I have my biases to make me Conservative. Edit: Changed "Republican" to "Conservative."
  16. Carlin, there were many other GOOD Presidents that were men of God. Like Reagan. Reagan is 10x the President that Bush would have been in his second term. Bush has done NOTHING in this term aside from fighting the war. Barely any legislation.
  17. Mexican American war, anyone? THAT wasn't defense, that was "We want your land, Mexico - we'll offer to buy it from you, but if you won't sell it, we'll just take it from you." The Mexicans invaded Texas... We were going to make high demands, but the Mexicans opted for a land deal instead.
  18. Sorry, Sat, but hah! That's like calling Fox News 'Fair and Unbiased.' I could say that if Hillary was President, she would veto any legislation designed to limit abortion just because she supports it. Even if that bill had a legitimate cause. It's the opposite. And before you say ''but it's the right way!", that's just your opinion. One of many million. You've got to be kidding Carlin. While he was strong in his first term, he did almost nothing in the second, at all. While fame will relay him as maybe the 2nd or 3rd most powerful President, he is nowhere near the top in order of greatness.
  19. The fact that anyone could go and edit Wikipedia at any time is proof enough. If I wanted to, I could go to Abraham Lincoln's Wiki and change his date of birth. Numbers can easily be changed without violating the anti-vandalism protection. That is why Wikipedia can not be trusted. I don't allow my students to turn in anything from Wiki for that reason.
  20. Well, the great thing about West Texas is that the large number of Buttes and Plateaus allow great spots for Wind Turbines.
  21. Wind power is inefficient? Tell that to the 35,000 residents of Swee[bleep]er, Texas. The city is entirely powered by wind energy only. West Texas has almost 10,000 wind turbines that provide 45% of the region's electrical power. In addition, many Texas oils wells are running dry (I drove by many today) and the smell of natural gas signals the beginning of a new era. You might also want to research the Wal-Mart in McKinney, Texas. All it's parking lot lights are wind powered, signs are solar powered. It uses 85% less energy with a state of the art air conditioning system, and eliminates wasted heating by heating floor tiles instead of using central heating. If you want green energy, Texas is PAVING the way. The first ethanol gas stations are starting to pop up, too!
  22. Satenza, just because John McCain believes those things, does not mean he will act on them like President Bush. My job in real life requires me to be fully objective on all matters. I work with gay people without even worrying about it, even though I am thoroughly against homosexuality. I am ragingly anti-abortion, but I have given several young accidental fathers the addresses of abortion clinics. I give them all the options, but I don't hide anything. John McCain is an honest and good man. I imagine he could handle the war in Iraq much better than the current President, and will still be able to devote time to domestic matters that actually improve the nation.
  23. Anti-war, pro-liberty, anti-indoctrination, pro-choice, pro-equality. She really is the devil incarnate. As for McCain, attempting to force more christian ideals onto children - pro indoctrination. Stopping gay people getting married - anti-choice. For stricter death sentance penalty - encouraging this barbaric law even futher. Anti-Abortion, again anti-choice. When will people realize that the Government is not meant to control your lives, it's meant to protect your ability to do so yourself. Authoritarian states are suppressive to the individual and all about tyranny of the majority. Me = Republican Conservative Fundamentalist Christian. McCain sounds pretty darn good to me. Hillary would instantly stop the war in Iraq, sending that region into the depths of Hades that could very well escalate into a full blown war, if not World War 3. I don't really mind gay's rights, but I am strongly against abortion. Slander and criticize me as a roadblock of progress all you want, I stand for it. Authority is needed, else we have a nice anarchy. The Constitution prevents total freedom.
  24. I hope people don't swing their vote just for race... :| Obama has some good characteristics, but no experience! He's like the baby kid in politics! Less than ONE Senatorial term. Sorry, but even the youngest President JFK had numerous terms under his belt before he even tried for the Oval Office. Hillary = AntiChrist. Sorry, that's how I feel. Her stances on everything tick me off. Giulliani: Too liberal. Not tough enough. His bark is worse than his bite. McCain: I'd vote for him. Brownback: The person I would most vote for, but it's unlikely he will make it to the final place. All this talk of "about time a woman ran" or "finally, a black president." I'd happily give my vote to Condileezza Rice :).
  25. I have a Zune, but still see the problem. I personally just got an old pair of decent Sony headphones that wrap around the back of the head (I used to listen to the radio while jogging). They stay tightly in place, and the sound quality is still excellent.
