  1. This topic is a good source of your daily recommended "lol."
  2. Since you guys seem to turn every topic into a theological discussion, and we have had several good threads locked because of complete off-topicness.. This topic is made upon Tripsis' suggestion in the "I made Eagle Scout!" thread. Knock yourself out, follow rules, don't flame, enjoy.
  3. Holland left it's claim. It may have founded colonies, but they left and Britain took over. And Britain deserves acclaim because it drove it's colonies away? France actively fought to help America gain independance. To Britain and Holland (and Spain, and all the other powers), America was just a series of colonies. Hardly helpful.
  4. You mean Reb. I still get a cookie.
  5. 87% of North American landmass is engaged in NAFTA, so by your logic this topic should be named the "I hate North America club."
  6. Yeah. But from what you said, you intended that all of Europe played a part in making America. When only France actually helped. Unless you are from France, no cookie for you.
  7. Of course E=M, it's just your point was you can't turn mass in to energy, which is wrong. So you tell me that the pencil sitting on my desk is energy? (Thats what your E=M equation is suggesting.). It's most definitely potential energy. You eat it and it is converted into physical energy. PS, where did this discussion come from?!
  8. No, just the French, really.
  9. IRANIAN army. Not IRAQI insurgents. :P When your son stands the possibility of capture by any foreign power, it's still a scary experience.
  10. You insane? The Ayatollah can make a war with Iran a war on Extremist Islam with the snap of a finger.
  11. Well, until the occupation ends, Coalition Navies have jurisdiction in Iraqi waters. This will be interesting to watch.
  12. International waters. All nations have the duty to patrol them. Regardless of where.
  13. Read Genesis, Bubsa. Man was created in the image of God through God. Our conception is special in regards to other creatures (and sexual reproduction was not even an issue until the expelling from Eden).
  14. And this makes it "morally wrong" to be homosexual? I always defined morally wrong as doing something that negatively affected someone... I don't see how being gay or [bleep] fits that category. The only real argument I've seen, if you can call it that, is that the bible says so. But hey, I'm an agnostic, so I don't really think that works. And yes, 4737_Carlin, you may now tell me that I'm going to hell. I'm more than willing to have that debate, but preferably not on this thread. Actually, that quote was directed towards Bubsa's lizard.
  15. Humans are not capable of self-reproduction under natural means, Bubsa.
  16. Doesn't answer the question at all, but hey, nice homophobic metaphor. Ok, want it technical? The point of genitalia is for reproduction and child rearing. Their function in a homosexual relationship is useless aside from pleasure. They can not be fruitful and multiply. And just because I do not condone homosexuality does not make me a "homophobe." I have several gay friends. Do I mind them? No. Will it murder me inside if they engage in relations with the same sex? Not really, considering they know not to discuss such things around me.
  17. Homosexuality: God created Man and Woman. And let's look at it from an anatomy angle. The plumbing doesn't fit. Abortion: All are created through God through conception. That means the Zygote is a living creature in God's eyes from the moment of gestation. List some more. PS: You are starting to generalize again.
  18. There needs to be a rule on these boards, that when you quote the Bible, you must quote the surrounding Chapter for context. For example, the Revelation quote. The "she" is Babylon, it's entirely in figurative language. If you take it into the context of Revelation, it's referring to Babylon (The AntiChrist) and his/her followers. Practically ALL of those quotes are not to be taken literally. They are moral plays and lessons. Good Gravy, Sat. I thought you were better than that. And about the "rape" quotes. You are taking a 4000-6000 year old quote, and giving it modern meanings. Those quotes do not mean "rape the women mercilessly!"
  19. Now that's a new one :-s Actually, it's true. The Russians beat us in Europe by taking Berlin before we could, which was practically the cause of the Cold War. Could you imagine how the Cold War would have played if the Russians had the advantage of Japanese technology? And the US without?
  20. Satenza? Where in the hell does it say that God condones rape? There are stories of rape on the Bible, but they generally lead to God smiting the hell out of the guilty parties and their familes (or in the case of Sodom and Gomorrah, the entire civilization). PS: God corrected himself on the whole "killing thing" by telling Isiah that the laws of the land should be obeyed. In the Middle East, is it not customary for thieves to have their hands cut off, or for women to be stoned for adultery (or in sad cases for being raped)? Israel changed it's laws, and Greek and Roman laws prevented the murdering of criminals without due process. Therefore since the Church or Sanhedrin is obligated to follow the laws of their nation, they halted the "cruel justice" advocated in the Torah. PPS: It's not our Bible, it's the Torah, that is included in the Old Testament. Go ahead and say "Jewish" people too, instead of just putting the spotlight on Christianity.
  21. And like all his posts, Carlin makes complete and total sense for half a sentence, and then blows it.
  22. Hate to break up the party, but their clothing suggests that they are Zarosian. Lucien was Zarosian as well. One might guess that he wanted the Staff to take revenge upon Zamorak for the backstabbing of Zaros.
  23. My opinions are well known, however. People who trust me know my stance, and therefore know that I am not going to offer something that offends me. And generally, the people I trust (and know to trust me) generally agree with me on things like abortion.
  24. It doesn't really matter if the issue is abortion or not, any act which you deem to be immoral you have said you wouldn't force onto people. Why wouldn't you force it onto someone? Is it a requirement to be a Conservative Fundamentalist Christian who votes Republican to force their beliefs onto everyone? No, I'm asking why you won't force your beliefs onto everyone. Because not everyone is Barihawk.
