  1. The Day After Tomorrow is the most rediculous movie I have ever seen. Oh yes! Within a DAY not only will 300 foot tidal waves hit every major urban center, they will FREEZE too!
  2. I was scared until my 16th birthday, when I recieved as a gift a 12-guage security blanket. Never been worried since.
  3. It's been there for hundreds of thousands of years, and naturally widens and closes. Naturalists saw it widening and instantly thought it was our fault. The only real threat humans have posed to the ozone layer was the introduction of CFC molecules in refridgerators that have been banned now world-wide. Like everyone else says, global warming and cooling is a natural occurance and happens all the time (well, compared to the billions of years of Terra's existence.
  4. I watched the flag pass by one day. It fluttered in the breeze A young soldier saluted it, and then He stood at ease. I looked at him in uniform So young, so tall, so proud With hair cut square and eyes alert He'd stand out in any crowd. I thought how many men like him Had fallen through the years. How many died on foreign soil? How many mothers' tears? How many Pilots' planes shot down? How many foxholes were soldiers' graves? No Freedom is not free I heard the sound of taps one night, When everything was still. I listened to the bugler play And felt a sudden chill. I wondered just how many times That taps had meant "Amen" When a flag had draped a coffin of a brother or a friend. I thought of all the children, Of the mothers and the wives, Of fathers, sons and husbands With interrupted lives. I thought about a graveyard At the bottom of the sea Of unmarked graves in Arlington. No Freedom isn't free! copyright 1981 Kelly Strong [email protected] Heres to every man and woman who has lost thier lives in war. In death, there are no borders, each man is just as deserving of our praise as the other. Whether he be American, English, French, German, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, or of any other army.
  5. I think it was to him, Jackalope. I have many veterans in the family, and I have heard as many stories as they can (or are allowed :P) to tell me. I have always enjoyed this weekend, and hope that our newest veterans have made it home safely. To all those who have died in the line of duty, I give my respect.
  6. Bluelancer, while those examples may not seem logical today, would they not be possible by the Son of God? Believing in those things is the core of our faith. I only think people are too zealous if they do things in the name of God that God does not want them to do. Like the Chrusades. I am sure that ticked off the Almighty something fierce.
  7. Various Black Guard soldiers speak Latin in Burthorpe.
  8. Thank you for making those of us with actual opinions on this matter look bad by resorting to flaming and idiocy. If you don't have something good to contribute to a topic, do not post it! Lest you start some flame war.
  9. Argh, the House. I still have nothing good to say about the Democrats and their last minute slam campaign against key Representatives. 2008's going to be an interesting election, considering we are most likely to have a Republican president at the moment.
  10. Thanks for the civics lesson. Personal opinions aside: Republicans tend to favor less Federal Government involvement, and an emphasis on the rights of the individual states. They have always run this way, but have only really been the "Conservative" party for about 15 years. Before 2000, they were fiscally conservative as well. Democrats tend to favor greater Federal Government and believe that Washington should be more involved in the affairs of the common man. The Democrats were the Conservative Party until 1988. They have traditionally been more liberal with the budget, but recently have stated otherwise. Which is funny, because they can't accomplish thier goals without spending lots of money. Religion has only played a part in either since 2000. Before then, the last President that people talked about being religious was Kennedy for being a Catholic.
  11. Check back in two years, we might have an answer.
  12. Yay, Perry won. And Kay Bailey Hutchinson too...oh well. Lots of blue states from 2002 turned into red states  . Senate is still even, 38 point advantage to Democrats in House. Of course, the NDP has done a very good job of bringing up everything to slam the GOP right before the elections...even delaying justice to a pedophile so they could take advantage of the situation :x . Ooh! Republicans winning Senate! Wonder if this will go on.
  13. A lot of the major states still haven't been declared, though. Texas should add a huge number to the Reds, although governor is still a tossup :(.
  14. Sounds fun! Gourmet cousine, ahoy! Of course, we will need a timezone.
  15. I don't believe it to be physically possible to translate Shatnar's voice onto text. Of course, if you had a sequel, with him, and more balloons, you'd have to have a Scotty-type character screaming "Ya can't push it any faster!" With a fat character actually pushing the balloon :P. Those uniforms would be nice, but wouldn't fit RS as much as Auguste's.
  16. Nations are easier to rank Viktor :P. Less than 400 nations, and several million cities.
  17. Dam you, where's ENKHUIZEN? What defines it as the ''best'' city anyway? A lazy editor who doesn't do research. Clearly, they are just thinking of cities off of the top of thier heads. All 50 of the best cities to live in would have populations less than 100,000.
  18. The US cities are pretty biased...especially since the average standard of living in those cities sucks hardcore. 3 out of the top 5 cities are located in Texas. #3 Sugarland is not very far from here. I think Frisco and some city near San Antonio are the other two. My home county has held the best County to live in for the past 12 years now.
  19. Well, we all know that Mod Nancy is a Trekkie! I want Auguste's jacket!
  20. Saddam killed 150 people? If you actually believe that's all he killed, the rest of your opinion on this subject is moot. As a result of his actions, including his gas attacks and the casualties sustained after HIS Gulf War, it's more like 150,000. Oh, and that's just Iraqis. Add to that Kuwaitis, Iranis, Americans, Brits, Swedes, Germans, and the other Coalition losses. And oh shoot, the familes of the judges involved in his case, all the people his sons beheaded for fun, the insurgents and civilians dying in an almost religious zealotry over him, all the people his Al-Queda friends have killed...
  21. Someone made that case in the OF. Paul responded personally stating that when you die, you are supposed to lose your items. Therefore, no sympathy from Jagex.
  22. You would still be executing him, just by starvation? Unfortunately, he can not be sent to Leavenworth, but there is not much you can do to punish him. It's an Iraqi matter for the Iraqis to decide. I just hope that it doesn't cause too many deaths in the long run.
  23. Argh, it's not Auguste's outfit, but it will do...thanks!
  24. Pictures of the bomberjacket and cap, PLEASE. I won't be able to do the quest for another 7 hours, and I have to see it :P.
  25. The quest is one giant parody of Star Trek, even from just the first few lines of the quest. Look at Auguste, his jacket kind of looks Trekish, with the black shoulders and the "insignia" on the left lapel. In the closeup, he looks amazingly like Patrick Stewart, and even has the 4 "pips" of a Starfleet captain on his neck. In his very first line, he refers to you as "Number One", and claims that he wants to seek out new frontiers (to which you reply: "To go where no man has gone before?" and he says "No, to Taverly, but whatever!"). I can't wait to get back from class and do this one. And the new costume better be his jacket, lest I murder someone. Go Mod Nancy!
