  1. ummm China? *cough* Korean war *cough* Hello, I'm your guide to the 21st century. Just to bring you up to speed, the Korean War finished half a century ago. China wants to industrialise rapidly and now relies on trade with regional and international partners, and doesn't give a rat's backside about North Korea because it's more of a liability than a help in anything. Just like america got nothing from going into vietnam. They were fighting there enemies, the communists. If north korea gets invaded (a fellow communist country) you think China are going to just stand by and watch it happen? America and South Vietnam had been working together for 15 years before the war started. China is not on good terms with North Korea, so it is doubtful they would rush into battle like they did in the 50's.
  2. This was put on the page, from a tip.it user named Frizoid who has even posted in this thread to confirm it! I think it's pretty good. Although the morytania swamps were just amazing.
  3. First of all, read the sticky in the Official Forums called "Updates" to get an idea of how long it takes to make one. It does not take a week, it takes months. And two: If you are so disinterested in Runescape, then stop playing. Nobody is forcing you to. You have already exhibited the number one symptom of game addiction. Please help yourself.
  4. Actually, I am sure the child's parents were proud of the Daganoth sculpture to place it on the kitchen counter. And if anyone asks where he got the idea, he can suck it up and say Runescape, or say it was influenced by the Dagonath from the works of H.P. Lovecraft. Either way, he would be right.
  5. Is that a picture by OUR Frizoid?

He's learned to do as he's told, that's about it. Exactly?

Pretty much what I was saying. I think I meant to put something in there about how kid's that age don't know much better than to do what thier told.

Well, my 4 year old nephew has already learned to pray, but I really doubt he knows much of anything about his "faith." It usually takes from the age of 7-14 to really learn much from Sunday School. Heck, I am still learning things about Christianity as a 20-year old.
  9. No, there's no reason to be scared. Why waste such an emotion on something so stupid? And now please, explain to me how a nuclear warhead being detonated above the US is going to stop me from getting in my car, which is powered via gasoline not electricity, and going to school.. Or for that matter how that nuclear warhead is going to somehow make all of the electricity in the US just disappear.. And by the way, there's more important things in life than video games.. You'll relise that one day. His reasoning is flawed because at it's highest effective altitude, an EMP device could only destroy a single city's power network. And what use is a gas-powered car if the electric ignitor has exploded. EMP would send us back to the stone age.

I couldn't agree more with Pokemama. It annoys me just as much as when people criticize Islam because of extremists there. I am considered to be very Christian, but I can not stand Bible thumpers who preach thier own religion. I almost slapped a student at Uni who asked me if I was saved. I had told him yes and he asked me why he had not seen me at his church. Apparently, only his way of Christianity was correct and I was going to rot in hell... The Christian faith needs to unify, but unfortunately that is not going to happen. I myself have lost a friend in Ireland (she was Catholic, walking her younger sister to school. They passed a Protestant church at the wrong time. An IRA car bomb went off and killed both of them, along with 33 others. Killed by extremists of thier own faith...)

I've done quite a bit of study and from that and my own life experiences I have found more reason to believe in a God than to not believe in Him.

So you are saying that Christians are too dumb to carry an an intelligent discussion?
  13. To be honest, you are sick to be craving the deaths of millions of people that would occur during a nuclear attack by either side. I am sure we will take care of this matter without full-scale war (ie Kim Jong-il not waking up one morning).
  14. PS. If you don't listen we will sick the US on you. PPS. We don't even really have to sick the US on you, they will do it anyway. So stop it. Within 3 days the entire Navy (both Atlantic and Pacific Fleets) can be in the South China Sea. Just something to thing about.
  15. I would agree with deposing Kim Jong-il, but as much as I hate to say it we need to leave the Ayatollah alone. Even if he is as nutty as Kim, running him out of office would lead to a HUGE problem with the Islam world. Remember that he is the center of extreme Islam in the entire middle east. We might get retribution that would make 9/11 look like an ice cream social (possible nuclear...).
  16. Nobody is ever proud of a war. If you are proud of one, then you are mentally ill. What you should be proud of is the people involved in such a war, risking thier lives for what they believe in. It seems to me a few people on the homefront need to learn that lesson. :(
  17. Until the numerous SALT treaties and banning of nuclear tests. We have not had a nuclear test SINCE the Cold War. North Korea was one of the original SALT nations and this test is very dangerous. It would probably be a Japanese or South Korean operation to destory the nukes, but bet your best nickel the US will support either.
  18. Have you seen the movie, "Blue Lagoon" by chance? :-s Just hope the child won't be inbred like that movie.
  19. A Gerber Tool. That's all I would need. Preferable a small library of books if I could.
  20. ... Please don't make this thread flame war fodder. What! I was 7 when I saw the movie and DID cry when Spock died :P. BTTF, it's not really an RTS. It's a lot like Klingon Academy or Bridge Commander (although without the bridge element).
  21. Without trying to sound cruel, I am willing to bet that most of those female gamers are from Japan or Korea, where the market has been around a lot longer (not to mention many many more female-oriented games). In the US, most games are marketed towards males (like DOA: Extreme Beach Volleyball) so less girls are interested in games. I know lots of girls who are not gamers who like litle flash games like Pac Man, but only two who enjoy console or PC gaming.
  22. I remember the days when cartoons were innocent and non-politcally oriented. I miss the old days :(.
  23. Just noticed something cool in the Wrath of Khan video. The Enterprise player upon entering the Mutara Nebula (where shields are useless) rerouted his shield power to engines and weapons, giving him an edge.
  24. Ok, so maybe not best at show, but best on this list :P
  25. Squad-based RTS. You don't build anything, but you control up to 4 ships (others being controlled by AI). You can directly manipulate 1 and give commands to the other 3. I would reccomend visiting the official site.
