$1,500 for that set of wheels I was looking at. Forget that idea, just gonna put my summer tires back on the same wheels I have now...
  2. I've never put a load of hours on a Logitech mouse, but the durability of their driving wheels (which I've put hundreds of hours on) has always impressed me.

Thinking about getting a set of stock alloys from the GT version of my car to put my summer tires on. Which looks better- the ones I have now or the alloys? Old: New:
  4. Thanks guys! Those first two were shot on the coldest day I've ever experienced, -25ºF with the windchill. Good to know someone besides me appreciates the result! I've got one more from yesterday that I quite like as well:

Those Fiats have had a reputation of being cheap and horrible cars. I don't know if the quality has improved, but you would probably be better off with something else... New Fiats are great quality. Old ones weren't at all, that's why Fiat pulled out of the U.S. all those years ago. My dad is really into it, but doesn't have the space or time right now for a project. We've both put time in on friends cars though... I love old cars and would really love to do a restoration myself some day.
  6. Just stuff I've done over the past 6 months. Any comments or suggestion are welcomed, as always. :)
  7. It's been years since I've used Bryce, would be cool to get back into it. Thanks for the heads up.
  8. Yep, the photographer in all of us is pleading you to fix the white balance, but I can promise those of you that haven't seen this before: this is exactly what it looks like. Cool shot.
  9. I dug out a couple old screenshots: [spoiler=Screenshots] August 2006: October 2006:

Any hill that I've thrown at it, and we have some pretty decent ones here, as you might imagine from the mountains in the background of that last shot. It has brand new studded tires, which honestly makes all the difference... do you have those over there or only chains?

Sunset drive one day, sunrise drive a couple of days later... Was 5ºF outside, and something like -15 with the wind chill. Damn cold. Thank god for the car heater.
  12. Font size doesn't change from landscape to portrait for me on my iPhone4/iOS5. When I look at Mercifull's iPad screenshot on my computer, the font is almost the same size as on my phone. The other two screenshots aren't representative, due to the "retina screen" technology they utilize, I'm assuming.

Oh I drive it in the snow all the time, it's absolutely amazing. Never slips, will go up any hill...

Ugh, another part of our screwed up education system. :(

I started off wanting to do something similar, but realized the history taught at the secondary education level is pathetic (at least here in America). I also don't want to teach students that aren't interested in the subject matter. I'd rather have a professorial position where the students actually give two shits. I agree with you that history at the secondary education level is quite boring, but if you're at all interested in government, that is a class that I have seen some excellent teachers for, to the point that, despite it being a required class, kids really enjoy it. Some courses offer an interesting overview of the U.S. government, but rarely provide any critique of it, which is my main problem with the field at the secondary level anyways. There's never any critique, it's just "here's the way things are." Then here's an opportunity for you to change that, eh? Teaching needs to evolve, and that requires new teachers bringing new ideas.

Hahaha. Just remember, you don't fly an Airbus. It flies you. Actually no, it flies itself. Pilot's do very little but monitor these days. Take-offs(up to about 18 000 ft) and landings (landing on short final which could be as short as 200ft from the runway) are done manually the rest is done by auto pilot. Mmm sure, but at least the Boeing doesn't interfere with your control inputs in the way that an Airbus does. Do you spend any time using small scale sims like MSFS or X-Plane? Nah i never really had a liking for Simulators. At least not on a laptop/computer. Our school has some sort of simulator (not sure which) which we will most likely start using at a later stage. I don't really know much about those kind of things (control input interference) because that's still a bit ahead of the course. Still busy finishing off my PPL at the moment (have my JAA and FAA Check Rides next week Monday and Tuesday and we only just started with ATPL Groundschool this week :P God that sounds like a load of fun. I'm a longtime X-Plane user, and I really think sims are something every aspiring pilot should have a go at, if anything to practice IFR work and procedures. If you can find a joystick that makes it much better, and if you get into it you can get a whole yoke/throttles/pedals setup like I have. Give it another try when you get a chance. :)

  20. If you're having doubts about whether you should apply or not, throw them away and go for it- being on the Crew is a wonderful experience that everyone would enjoy. :)
  21. Late to the mainstream party, but I believe I win: http://www.last.fm/user/Kaphias Must be a lot of old people on last.fm.
  22. We have family friends coming up over break from Australia for a skiing holiday. Should be lots of fun, especially if it turns cold and we get some more snow.
  23. Though you might enjoy this Albel, maybe you have even already listen to/played some of his other pieces: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGxnfrNbUQE

One more semester of high school, then I'm off to college to get my Masters in Architecture, along with a likely minor in Construction Management. Hopefully I'll be able to move back to my little Alaskan hometown and find a job here. Get a decent house, learn to fly, buy a plane, and start a family if the opportunity presents itself. Retire. Die. It all sounds so simple. :wall:
