Sounds like a cool idea. I hate keeping lots of basically useless junk in my bank just because I might need it for a TT, but experience shows that as soon as I get rid of something, less than a day later I get a clue that requires exactly the item I just sold / alched / dropped.
You may want to train your agility. Also, try crossing the bridge without armor. A low weight seems to help, so boots of lightness, spotted / spottier cape et. al. are recommended.
Heh. Of course, the real problem with this article is that our hypothetical Scaredy-Cat would have known about bank notes from buying the 1k cowhides in the first place :^o :-w
FINALLY! Last time I got that clue, it still had the old map on it, even though the location had already been updated ingame. Confused the heck out of me for a minute as I thought I had inadvertently missed the goblin settlement and discovered some new sooper-sikrit place instead :-w
Just what I was going to say ;) Anyway, in Scaperune you would gain smithing xp by putting bars into a furnace and turning them into ores. And you could fletch logs from unstrung bows.
Thanks for this great guide! I was always worried that the Barrows would be too tough for me until I read this... I am right now doing my first ever Barrows runs and I already got an item on my second attempt (okay, so it was just Karil's Coif, but still...) :)
I'm only guessing here, but even a novice game gives 2 points, which would bring your total to 251... I suppose that means you can only enter a new game after spending at least one point because the engine can't handle higher point counts than 250.
It's a bit confusing because the floor where Merlin resides is not the top floor, even though the main staircase ends there. To access the top floor you have to enter one of the towers at the ground floor and climb two ladders.
