Seems foolish to me to not train it while you're training melee since it's intertwined with combat training. So training slayer when you want to gain melee levels just sounds easy and efficient to me, and I like easy and efficient.

I do think we've come to a point where money is very important in-game. I'm not sure about back then but I've heard stories about people persueing a certain amount of wealth. The game's always been about money, now there's just more ways for the not-so-lucrative player to get it. So now everyone focuses on gaining wealth, instead of just playing because they don't know how to make money.

Just cause your bank is over 300m doesn't mean we all need that big a bank. Sheesh, the arrogance. :rolleyes: Grats, good luck on finishing off defence if you mean to.

No, it's fine that you think the amount of pm's by 'noobs' (it's funny how you talk about 'noobs' and then blame people who turn their private chat to friends that they think they're better than other people) is negligable, I think every pm I get by some random person trying to gain something by using your knowledge without offering anything (like friendship) in return or being rude whilst asking is one too many. Therefore I think I have the right to turn my pm to friends so I can filter out these nuisances and just focus on the people I know are nice and friendly.

Hah, and tell me where would you get your armour, runes, food, usefull items such as glories, furies, teleport tabs etc. from in a world full of low leveled member's accounts with an isolated Grand Exchange? Personally I think the changes you want to make to the game fix nothing that is broken, only make the game harder ( way to go, scaring away new members!) which isn't what any of us are waiting for. Your combat level isn't calculated exponentially because the amount of damage you can cause/can block is based on levels instead of experience. Making it exponential would fit a big load of levels within one combat level bringing the whole system out of whack. Why would you want to bring crafting more in line with smithing? they're two totally different skills. How does not being able to alch stackable items (such as noted items) help anyone enjoy the game more? It just makes us people cry for a solution ( I.E. being able to alch stackable items). I could go on but I think you catch my drift, I'd rather stick to the existing Runescape. Closed off servers for low leveled members are fine but not for your reason of being able to start over with a clean slate. Servers for low level members offers them a chance to compete over resources instead of the next player with a rune pickaxe beating him to it. Another problem can be found in the dertemination of 'low-level member'. Are free to players with low member's skills but high free to play skills still considered low-level members? That line can be very hard to distinguish. All I think that Jagex can make something beautiful out of this. Your suggested changes are not what I think is what the player community is looking for, rather than a step back in time when the game was annoying and you had to trade all items like bowstrings inventory by inventory. Back when people played for the community.

He's worked over hours, Billy has, just to be able to afford some decent armour. He put all his cash in the Grand Exchange and hoped for something awesome to come out, and it did! A week after he bought his new boots and parading about in them, one of his friends told him he just got the same boots, and he paid 200k less for them! Now this may not seem harsh for you since you're obviously too short-sighted to look beyond your big pile of cash made from all those Billys out there. But try to understand that it's not all rainbows and butterflies as you clearly think it is, not for everyone to say the least. Then he paid the price of wanting that item immediately, instead of waiting for it to become cheaper, placing his value of convenience over his principle of saving money. He chose to pay the price of wanting an item instantly rather than saving his funds and waiting longer for his item - options which the GE is designed to provide. That price change of 200k could have came from a natural crash or rise as well as an alleged manipulation; Billy would have been forced to pay an inflated price regardless if he really wanted those boots as fast as possible. If someone happened to be selling a pair of boots when the price was up at 500k, why, they've actually done Billy a favor by selling him his boots, because he's willing to pay a higher price and the seller is willing to sell the boots quickly. Billy clearly wants the boots as soon as possible, and he's lucky enough to stumble upon someone willing to provide an immediate transaction. Billy is actually not as well informed as you and I, he's just the average chap interested in playing the game unaware of evils such as merchanting clans. So, you can say 'well then he just payed the price for being ignorant' but you can't expect everyone to be able to look as much into a game as we do especially if you're young and unaware of the possibilities and information sites such as tipit can provide you. So in your example, the trade 'mislead' Billy into thinking 500k is the uninflated price and selling them for that amount to Billy, cheating him out of 200k. In any case it's taking advantage of someone's ignorance and cheating them out of their money which is the wrong thing to do by my standards.

i disagree merch clans are as much a threat to runescape as RWT was. By saying that you're showing that you have no idea what the problems of RWT where. Anyway, I said that I didn't have a problem with it, because the only ones who think they get scammed by it are people who don't know what they're doing. The most people who lose money know it's possible, and didn't sell on time. It's the risk they take by investing in these items. Also, people tend to only look at the negative aspects. I've often seen people claiming that it is bad for the economy, without any arguments whatsoever. There are, however, also positive effects. It gives people ways of making more money than usual. For example, when d boots are stable, you can het about 300k per drop, but when they get merched you can get up to 540k for a pair of boots, almost doubling the profit per hour. This is mostly why I don't mind it. It also allows you to get items like prayer potions cheaper than normal after a crash. I don't see why you'd note that you got this 15 minutes after the new skill. It's like saying 'I got a cupboard 2 weeks, 4 days, 17 hours, 18 minutes and 13 seconds after I bought my toaster' so 1/10 for relevance for that. Obviously a 10/10 for the skills.
