What makes me upset is the people who are Nay Sayers. If we don't start now... when do we start? 5 years down the road they will still be saying "nope, not its time". Thats only because no one is start to begin with! ~Defender~
  2. lol, I feel like a positive player because I am in a positive enviroment. Theiving Farmers for cash and slaying monsters. :XD: ~Defender~
  3. I agree.. your best customer is always the same customer. If you constantly try to attract new people.. you get in a wave that new players rush in and old ones rush out. Eventually almost everyone will have heard or played Runescape and will be considered "old" players, there won't be any new players. Thus, Runescapes downfall. ~Defender~
  4. Try: Between a Rock... Clock Tower Darkness of Hallowvale Contact! Eyes of Glouphrie Mourning's Ends - Part 2 Murder Mystery Recruitment Drive Enlightened Journey Icthlarin's Little Helper Slug Menace Eagles' Peak Without a guide, then get back to us. I'm very glad I didn't on some of those...It's rather hard getting through Hallowvale without directions, for example. But still, the way quests are done is fine. If you never had to meander throughout all of Gielinor, what sense of achievement would there be for finishing a long and tedious quest like One Small Favour (I had fun with that one, by the way). I agree. Once you finish a difficult quest with so many small parts, it's that much more rewarding when you finish. Besides, from all of the quests I've done, I've got a GREAT sense of direction around Gielinor, always helping others. It's another style of quests, and if you don't enjoy them, don't do them. Simple enough. And before you complain then how am I supposed to get a Quest cape, keep in mind the QC is an accomplishment. It's the person who can stand all those frustrating moments that deserves it. So basically those who don't enjoy the game and endure the frustration... deserve it? That really makes no sense... and infact, is completely contradicting yourself. How can you say you love the quests, but deserve the rewards for the frustrating parts... You can't love a quest when your hating on it... Its the people who manage to pass the difficulty of the quest that deserve it.. not those who endure frustration. Anyone can do that. ~Defender~
  5. Alliance outnumber horde on practicly every server, some have it bad to where its nearly 4 alliance for every 1 horde on the server. i see what you're getting at lion. @ Defender: You're kind of putting it in a really black and white situation :P. What do you mean in black and white? Explain..... ~Defender~
  6. Well, taken of what you said so far, right now I have thought about the mage class in a race for AI in a MMORPG. Here is what I have scraped up so far. Smart Mage Class The smart mage class (SMC) can tackle on any group due to its superior intelligence in combat situations. When warriors attempt to "tank" or body block the mage, he will cast a spell to open up a forcefield surround a small part of the area. Warriors cannot surpass this forcefield, but must attack it to take it down. (Note: Mages spells can still get past the forcefield, it only prevents physical contact). Once the field is down, the warriors may freely attack the SMC. However, once in awhile, the SMC will teleport across the battlefield so the warriors will have to chase him. For the SMC to tackle Casters, a Magic/Elemental shield will be equiped where at times he can deflect the spell used on him back at the caster, or absorb the spell to increase his MP or HP. Smart Warrior Class The SWC is a powerful class. Since he cannot directly control players to target him over softer targets, he will atleast attempt to prevent them from being in range to target the other classes or body block them through choke points. The SWC will target weaker targets first and move into range to engange. To be of a great annuciance, he will have many abilitys effect a charaters position on the field. When a SMC begins to flee due to low HP, the SWC will use a skill called "grab" on the SWC's chasers. The grab skills knocks and pushs back the charater chasing the SWC for a short while attempting to stop the pursuit on his ally. Thats all I got for now, iwll update more later. ~Defender~
  7. Well, taken of what you said so far, right now I have thought about the mage class in a race for AI. How about a mage that can be Anti-Warrior instead, like you said, run up and hit you with its wand? I was thinking of it having its own teleportation ability. When a Warrior is detected within its zone, it teleports back occasional. Also, i'm going for a fully interactive enviroment like Crysis, so the mage will be able to also defend against casters useing a elemental shield (in a way), to deflect attacks in any direction as well. Lets say there is 200 skills in the game for a mage class. It could also be possible for the skill bar on a mage, or what he would use occasional, get swamped in and out once in awhile, therefor, you'll NEVER know what to expect and end up in repetitive combat. Thus, granting the player a fully operational AI who the mage can have any spell on him, so engaging him would be quite a challenge when you don't know what to expect each and every time, with the annoyance of him blocking and evading your own attacks. Should be fun :) ~Defender~
  8. Hey guys, i'm looking for some ideas that players would want in a MMORPG and then take out all the trashy elements that would make it bad. My idea of the perfect MMORPG would be a mix between WoW and Crysis. WoW because I have heard tons of people say its a great MMORPG and Crysis because its the most graphical game ever created imo. So I would like what you would desire in a game, what elements you would like to see taken out of a game and why. Basically we can disect what makes a game great and what makes it crappy, then I can write down these ideas and hopefully make it a reality :) If your a WoW Hater, I really don't care to be honest, i'm just trying to get ideas for a really great game that people can enjoy. So please don't post here if your a WoW Hater. Do not talk about WoW inless your ontopic about the discussion at hand, this is not a "lets hate on WoW" topic. ~Defender~
  9. I'm not quite sure why you would want to suffer through a quest. Games are meant for entertainment, you DO play games for entertainment right? And not, to do stuff the hard way? I mean.. if you are not having fun doing something, its not "technically" entertainment is it? ~Defender~
  10. I been thinking about Jagex quests lately, and one question clearly comes to my mind. Why do they suck? Why do they give players "frustration" vibes from time and time again? Quests are suppose to be adventurious, fun, and one of the most enjoyful times in a players life to go get his rewards! Well, here is what I believe the answer is in why they are not "top notch" quests. Your on a quest, your tasked to achieve something, such as a pair of mythical boots. K, sounds kewl, but why do players get frustrated during the quest when their suppose to be enjoying it? For one, they have to end up walking all over the world to get to certain X location only to find out they should have really been at Y location to talk to so in so. So how does this make a quest "enjoyful"? Infact, its stressful and should be removed. Walking around the world is not a fun and joyous event. Why? Players do it all the time when their not on quests! They walk the world everyday, cutting logs, tending farms, why would it be anymore enjoyable when they find out that "ouch!" your in the wrong location bud! Turn around, waste another 5 minutes in that direction and you'll be on the right track! So then, if players are not walking around the world to talk to "so in so" to get his mythical boots, what SHOULD he be doing? Well for one, I think the game would be MUCH better if they took on a questing system similar to zelda. Why was questing in Zelda great? Well for one, the whole time you was sitting their solving puzzels in a dungeon while remaining interactive with the enviroment. Example, you had to change the daytime from day to night in order to uncover that secret tunnel which could only be revealed during night time. Now I know that Runescape can't have this sort of thing, but its just a example. Runescape should not be about walking around, talking to dozens of people to get anywhere in a quest! Instead, it should bring new areas that are unseen into light, with puzzels to solve while in the dungeon. And finally, after all your hard work solving them, VOLIA! Mythical boots! Thats why Desert Treasure is quite a popular quest. Not only is its Reward Worth it, its a Quest to! It brings new areas into light and new challenges, not just new locations to have a walk to, talk to joe smoe, OH NO! Forgot the chisel! *30 minutes later* Whew, okay.. lets go. OH NOE! I FORGOT THE HAMMER! *30 minutes later* Okay, whew.. lets go.. OH NO! I FORGOT MY WEAPON IN THE BANK! Well, I hope you get my point, quests should be challenges in a area, not really so much walking around.. having chisels and hammers in your inventory. These are just annoying players. Now I can understand they are in place because it makes the length of the quest long, but if you really make some tuff puzzels, not only are they satisifying to finish, they also lengthing a quests journey. So cmon Jagex, drop the whole "you need a chisel" and give players a decent quest where it truely has no "frustration" parts inside! And everyturn makes the player more eager to run in! ~Defender~
  11. Lol the irony of saying to me that im judging you when its perfectly ok for you to say that a gay person made you feel sick. You can say what you like to me but everyone here knows i'm right. Those were 100% my own words to made that clear, I was simply trying to justify why you may have felt sick by someone hitting on you. Would you have felt the same if it were an attractive girl? I believe any NORMAL person would feel sick when a person of the same sex asks them out. ~Defender~
  12. I find it funny that you think because its christians, its a issue to bring up. Gays are gays by choice, not by genitics. Yeah "i'm trying not to be a fruity cake but its sooo hard to like girls cuz my genes, HELPPPP".. Right.. ~Defender~ Can you find men sexually attractive and girls not sexually attractive? By your mind? Yes, try it. ~Defender~
  13. I've had gay people hit on me as well as girls I am not interested in. My reaction to both is the same, just be flattered and explain you are not interested and they go away. Gay people are not sexual monsters whose only aim is to try to have sex with straight guys. You are pathetic. Wrong, YOU are pathetic. Why? Because you come on this forum and judge others. I in NO WAY said gays were sexual monsters, you stole and twisted words out of my mouth and then judged me by them. If you want to judge people's lifes, go talk to your wall, he's a good listner. ~Defender~
  14. I find it funny that you think because its christians, its a issue to bring up. Gays are gays by choice, not by genitics. Yeah "i'm trying not to be a fruity cake but its sooo hard to like girls cuz my genes, HELPPPP".. Right.. ~Defender~
  15. Had a gay hit on me once.. he was very feminie.. I was sick.. I'll never go get a jug of milk again. :-# ~Defender~
  16. He's right though.. we AREN'T here to do your work for you. ~Defender~
  17. Actually at 1 point in time, coca cola did put cocaine in their drinks, making people addictive to it. Also, I believe caffiene has some addictive element too it as well. ~Defender~
  18. Well, one thing I noticed that DOES lack about Runescape is animals, the friendly kind. It appears the area and enviroment is always infested with monsters around every turn, but never animals. ~Defender~
  19. Ahh, its funny how life has good and bad in it. *Takes a drink of coke* You sit there and want to do some good in the world.. *Takes a drink of coke* But you don't know how.. *Takes a drink of coke* And you get up to do something.. but for some reason you just dont' feel healthy enough. *Takes a drink of coke* Oh well, guess we'll never know why. *Takes a drink of coke* ~Defender~
  20. Kinda weird to see people trying to "earn" respect to people they will never see in their lifetime. Not saying you should not be respectful, but its kinda of funny to see people say "you lost my respect". Okay, lost a guys respect who is hundreds or thousands of miles away. Oh dear, what ever shall I do? That 1 person out of 6 billion... I must.. faint. :ohnoes: Someone hold me. ~Defender~
  21. I don't see how getting a diesaese and breathing hard would be considered "intresting", but "painful" and "regretful". ~Defender~
  22. I never heard about this "anchor" weapon, what is it? is it more poweful than the whip? It was nerfed, so whats its orginal stats? Pic Plz? ~Defender~
  23. What do you guys think about all the things to do out there that will not kill you directly, like poision, but will kill you indirectly or over a long period of time such as smoking and Dr. Pepper? Why consider taking up smoking? Well, smoke tastest good obviously.. MMM just like hamburgers indeed. Why consider drinking Dr. Pepper or Cola? Well obviously because it looks black. Anything black is defiantly healthy for you and a small side benifiet of tasting great. So I have decided to do a experiment. Plants need water to grow and live as humans do, so I will have 2 plants, one I will put in water, the other I will put in Dr. Pepper. On another one, plants need air, so I will have 1 for air, and the other plant constantly filled in a smokey room. Its obvious for 1 to know the results. So ask yourself, if this is not in anyway healthy for a plant and stunts its ability to grow and bring forth life. Why would humans even consider drinking Dr.Pepper or smoking? Which is quite hypocritical of me.. seeing as i'm drinking a dr.pepper RIGHT NOW as I write this. :wall: ~Defender~
  24. Did someone call my name? ~Defender~
  25. Yes, that is considered Morals. Everyone has morals, there is no escaping it. In order to be a person of no morals, you would have to be PURE evil! And even then you got your morals to stick by killing everyone to show you have no morals. A very complicated proccess. ~Defender~
