  1. Umm their dead.. what "else" could possibly be more important? ~Defender~
  2. That's only one side of the coin. Good things also happen because we have a choice. You made free will sound like it shouldn't exist in that post, dude. Oh, sorry, didn't mean it that way. Free will is great, I was just pointing out, that bad things can happen due to has having it. We don't have to live by morals if we don't want, we can believe anything, and do anything. Its quite strange.. one thing humans can never bond is the will of another. That is where real freedom is. ~Defender~
  3. Try swinging in mid air, you might hit the ghost! lol jk. Well, always do 1 thing, never have fear. I have no idea what could possibly be causing your stuff to rock. ~Defender~
  4. Try putting your monitor at a different location at night, and see if it "shakes" in a different spot. If it does, then its definatly something else. :ohnoes: ~Defender~
  5. Yeah, don't go around defending yourself with the reasoning that "If you don't like it, ignore it". It'll make everyone hate you. Biggieg does bring up the point of "Why do bad things happen in the world?" You know, I used to believe in God and all that just a few weeks ago, but I began to doubt my faith when right there, in my religion textbook approved by the Catholic Church and taught in our school, the exact following words. [what the heck]?!?!?! I highly suggest you find a christian church who speaks the word of God for how it is. Seriously, if they don't know, they are blind. If they are blind, how can they lead? If they can't lead.. faith and truth comes not. Evil is caused by the will of bad men and the influence of the devil. Bad things happen because we have a choice. ~Defender~
  6. Hmm i really never heard of that before.. what location you in? do you guys have earthquakes frequently? ~Defender~
  7. I could probably last a few years with Wilson :) ~Defender~
  8. In my opinion, it is human nature to give and share. When a person is alone, how long do they live? Technically they could live forever as long as they had good air, food, and water. Yet, what if everyone on the planet died but you? No nukes caused the people to die, no disease, they just all died for no reason at all. Now your the very last person to ever exist and when you die, the human race will be offically extinct. So the question is, what would you do with your life? You could imagine at first, you would probably try your daily routine.. loggin on runescape to find only NPC's as friends.. every world says "0" and is deserted. Your Online Messenger would be empty. Outside there is no sound of human conversation. No one to look at. School's would also be barren, along with towns, cities, and nations. What would you do with your life? Would you read a million books to obtain knowledge? But what for? Once your gone, there is no legacy. How about attempting to become physical fit? Not a bad idea.. but quite worthless since your going to die anyway. What about becomming spiritual? Sounds great, but in the end you still die. Here's my point. Everyone is looking for their purpose around them.. always trying to better themselfs, achieve goals in life, move up to the next step in the world. Yet stop and look. You would not do this if no one else existed. So the truth is.. We do not live for ourselfs.. we live for each other. ~Defender~
  9. Well not quite neccesarily. If people enjoy a persistant world, then Jagex should not add it for the sake of orginality? Then you'll have dull and bored players.. And then some other company is going to come along, snatch the idea, and everyone will hop on over there and enjoy all those random events. Although you are correct, Dragons attacking while your in that trade would probably make someone very upset.. However, there always could be warnings. "Danger, our scouts have reported a large force of draggons! they will be at the gate in 5 minutes!" that way they just do not unexpected pop up on you." Besides, Events are a 1 time thing, once its over, you can go back to your long hours of trading and merchanting :) Consider it taking a break ~Defender~ So if you read my first post, I said that would you rather have Jagex putting in their time and energy on a "one time thing" or would you rather them putting their energy into a new quest or skill that will bet there forever. Also, scouts reporting there are dragons coming would probably cause too much spam and trouble for the event. Think about it... People are fleeing from Varrock with millions of gp trying to escape from a dragon that is coming that is unexpected. Once one person loses his cash despite the warnings, it will have to be stopped. Just like luring... despite the warnings to go into the wilderness, people still got lured in. Once a person lost his stuff and complained, Jagex had to put an end to it. Thats not how it works.. 1. You cannot lose your stuff if you die by a dragon, so you can walk up to with with all your most valuble possesions and not have 1 sweat of worry. 2. The warning is so people can prepare and get their things out of the bank for combat if they choose to fight.. or stand around and get slaughtered. 3. Dragons attacking would not be a 1 time event, it will be a daily basis occurence, say every 8 hours, therefor it happens 3 times a day and the energy to develop it is not wasted. ~Defender~

  11. Well, I never played WoW before, (they have that in WoW?) and second, I got the idea from guildwars 2 as stated above, I think it would make a nice touch to Runescape. Yet there is that 1 major problem.. people trying to sell stuff in falador world 2 when a horde of dragons come and slaughter them all.. Oh who cares, that would be awesome to see! :D Run little nooblets, run! haha  ~Defender~
  12. Note: This is not a personal suggestion but a inquiry on how players would feel towards a world of change and the debate of the matter thereof. Wow, this is really starting to sound proffessional! woo! One of the best things you will hear players talk and converse in Runescape is how its a different from other MMORPG's. And if you have ever played other MMORPG's before, you know that change is a good thing! More developers these days continue to make games the next WoW 2.0, and doing a extreemly bad job at that. While some MMORPG's hold alittle salt in innovation, corperations are looking at the dollar, not at your enjoyment, which is why WoW has exceeded over them and will continue to do so. This is also why Runescape has played a very indeed good role in the lives of many and starting to shine at its best. People at Jagex Corp are not intrested in making the dollar as much more as they are for you to have fun. To prove this, Andrew Gower probably never have dreamed a game so simple as Runescape Classic to go big as it did, but it did, and it did because he focused on our enjoyment and fun rather than making a dollar. Remember, he introduced the game free and started out as a programmer/gamer, not a corperation unlike some games in production. Membership was his way of saying "please donate so I can continue to give you this game for free!" Or atleast free to those who do not pay. One of the innovations of Runescape is skills. There are over 20+ skills to do in Runescape, so if your bored in 1 area, you can simple switch to another. However time has its factors and people will eventually burn out on Runescape after around 2 to 5 years. Why is this? They been there and done that, they want more innovation than quest after quest after quest. Quests do give a player something to do, but after a few hours of completion, they begin to wonder.. "what do I do now? go back to my old routine of bordem?". So what can Jagex do to cure this? Bring in new innovation ideas, step back from the same quest of another quest routine, and go back to their roots of giving players what they want. A time to enjoy themselfs. One of the recent things I have read is that Guild Wars 2 is comming out, and one of the new features they will be adding is a persistant world. What is a persistant world? Its basically close to a open world like WoW but events take place on 3 categories. The time of day (Such as a dragon will attack at noon) The action of players (Your actions will cause events to occur) And the changing World (there will be different sides, depending on what each side is doing, this causes real world events) Can this be added into Runescape? Probably not as much in depth due to Java Engine Restrictions, but one thing I love about Jagex is how they defy the impossible! What if Events occured on a daily basis? A variety of save the town from invading dragons! or perhaps defend the white wolf mountain of Ice Titans in a army of hordes? Well you might ask, sounds nice but who would want to lose their stuff for nothing? Or save a town for what? No reward? Well, here is a few ideas I think that could combat the "I don't wanna fight because there is no reason to.." 1. You will lose none of your stuff. 2. If you choose to fight, you will get double combat experience. 3. Each personal town will have a skill associated with it that will grant you a tiny bit more exp if its saved. 4. A town not rescued will have penalties such as lower exp. (Not much, maybe 1 or 2 points in exp) You might ask.. what happens if I die and the attack is in Varrock? I have to walk all the way back from lumbridge/falador to the scene again? Of course not, during a attack, a ressurection portal will spawn you back into the fight, but not after 30 seconds or 1 minute so the monsters will have a equal chance of winning. This information is just to clear up some confusion so people can get a clearer picture on what would occur, not that I am actually making a suggestion, so please do not move this to the suggestive board. I would like this to remain a debate on innovation and Jagex introducing new features, this is just one of the examples. So there you have it, innovation at its best. Would you like/love and enjoy a persistant world with events that have pentalites/rewards for the victorious!? Or is Runescape fine just the way it is? :) Discuss/Debate at will! ~Defender~
  13. Hmm.. well I know the graphics card and the proccessor can handle it. I suppose I am running out of ram which is causing the issue. I'll try lowering the details and see what happens. Thx for the info. ~Defender~ Are the games fully patched? Do you have the latest drivers installed? Games are fully patched, however I don't think I have the latest drivers, which i'll be downloading tonight. ~Defender~

  15. Sigh.. Looks like I got more problems with it. The games I'm running are smooth and slick, fps is very decent. All games can be run on high settings. However, after about 5 minutes in a game, the system reboots or the game crashs to the desktop. This has happened on Battlefield 2142, Supreme Commander, and CnC 3 Demo. Dunno what the deal is.. :( ~Defender~
  16. Bush: Well, sure you can question them, as long as they can lie during the interview. Deal? Kthxbye (goes on vacation) ~Defender~
  17. Got some great news guys! I had to go to work (still here actually..) so I can't work on the comp to see whats wrong, but my dad emailed me, apparently the fan was hitting a wire. Now that he moved it, its quiet as a mouse! Also, I got a internet connection =D> \ Now I jsut need a legal illegal copy of windows! Anyone got? :-# haha, Lunix here i come! ~Defender~
  18. Reality of the situation: Jagex gave auto-programmers something to do, but it won't stop auto alching. ~Defender~
  19. Not neccesarily, from other peeps of info I gathered, it appears the CPU 2 core duos have 3 heat sensors and Everest is only picking up one. Reguardless tho... 6.7k fan speed is insane! ~Defender~
  20. Actually I have been having the same trouble for around the same time as you, most of the time it says the service was unavailable, however recently its been working for me. I really can't tell you "how" to fix it, other than wait.. because half the time I can sign on, while the other half I cannot. Its on their end, nothing wrong with your comp. ~Defender~
  21. Hey guys, I got my 1k comp finally! here's the rig! Windows Xp Media Center. Core 2 Duo E6400 (2.13ghz) 1 GB of ram (800) Nvidia 7900 GT Pci Express 250 GB Sata HD Heres my problem. So far everything is working great but the noise on my CPU fan sounds like its LITERALLY Mowing my Yard! Even if I close my door, you can hear it in the hallway!!! Also, i'm having trouble connecting it to the internet, but thats a different story. Anyways, my concern at the moment is the fan noise. I have a program called Everest that checks your computers Stats, such as Fan speed or how hot your CPU is and all other cool stuff. As it turns out, my fans RPM is 6,700 to 6,800! However, my CPU is only 14C or 57F, which is actually LESS than room tempature! My dad says I just need to keep my computer on 24/7 for about 2 weeks to "burn it in" or another words, cuz its new, I gotta wait awhile and it should get quiet. Other than that, my last concern is the temp. From reviews, people claim their CPU is 29-31C when Idle but mine is extreemly low to 14C!!! So i'm wondering if only 1 CPU is active.. and I have to go activate the other CPU too?? Help please! ~Defender~

Lets hope you get it so we can have less [developmentally delayed] in the world. ~Defender~ .... Someone being mentally challenged is not a sickness. It is a genetic disorder. Basically impossible to cure until way in the future. Actually, through Gene Therapy the cure of genetic disorders aren't too far away. Certain forms of genetic disorders like Muscular Dystrophy have already been cured in hamsters using Gene Therapy. On a side note, I would like to point out that: A) A cure is far different from a vaccine. B) I don't think the government would be pouring money into creating a vaccine if it were impossible. Well so far they have donated billions and yet to find a cure. Not in vain though, i'm sure they will find a cure someday. ~Defender~

If they could stop it from replicating, I would consider that a cure, considering it can do no further damage. ~Defender~
