I started slayer with 40 melee stats. Use one of the lowest masters and you won't go wrong.

Seriously don't craft chaos. Your best bet to 44 is to power craft with fires. Get some rings of duelling and tele from Castle Wars - Al Kharid continually. Banking at CW, crafting at Al Kharid. This also means you can use the cheaper rune essence. Once 44, craft natures via the Abyss or with Grahkk if you have decent summoning.

1.) Body Armour: Guthans is fine. Veracs is only really used for prayer bonus but prostelyte works for the tasks you pray on. 2.) Other Armour: Rune defender for slayer. Black dragonhide is as good as Karils but i think one focuses on range attack and the other is more mage defense. I forget which it is, but Karils does me fine. 3.) Weapons Sara sword is brilliant. Fast as a whip and you don't miss the defense too much. If you do, bring a super defense pot. I got 99 strength with a Sara Sword. As for a GS, I'm tempted too but like you train via slayer. I am told that GS's are not good for training, except SGS, (which is probably well out of your price range too) so stick to whip/rune defender.

Use Guthans Skirt/Body all the time. Just swap in the helm/spear when you need a heal. Saves you 2 inven spaces for loot. Fury Barrows Gloves Warrior or Berserker Ring

dont get into summoning it [bleep] up your combat level. summonming cant be used in pking, just get enough for quests. Wow this has to be the worst advice I have seen. Tell you what mate, you go find someone with a Steel Titan and try to PK him, then tell me summoning is usless.

Tried this last night and enjoyed it. So am going to do it all the way to 80 (75 currently). I have done a bit of maths but am not sure it's right as involves smithing and smelting. Basically making mithril bolts (u) I need approx 14.5k of them. This isn't an issue as I have 23mil to invest and will make cash in the end. the problem is this doesn't include the XP for smithing the bars, which will take the total number of ores I need to buy down but a fair amount. Is there any easy way to work this figure? Also the guide I read, however good, was very unclear on the XP rates. Does anyone know the rough XP per hour using the above method? thanks

No point in dragon hide of you're not ranging... I've not had much experience with Ankous but I thought they attacked with magic or mage based melee, hence the dragonhide suggestion.

1. RC for sure. The rest, depends how you level. 2. Combat ones and slayer. 3. RC, Slayer and probably Farming. 4. Firemaking, Thieving, then combat.

Not that good sadly. Canafis is better serviced by Ancient Magiks/Portal room and Fairy Rings Relleka is more fairy ring efficient The desert is the only useful teleport outside of slayer and even then is pretty much obsolete if you have a Pharohs staff as all oter locations are better off with Al Kharid/Fairy Rings. That said they are much better than the gem and make slayer tasks that little bit quicker.

So just bring everything? Just wield a pickaxe. Preferably mithril.

If you are high level then an Inferno Adze works as a pickaxe and a wc axe. However most people survive using a pickaxe (mithril is the lightest) and the agilty obstacle.

And what if I want to keep profit while doing slayer? Depends on you and your priorities. Personally I hate adult black dragons. They take an age to kill and you usually have to fight for them. The income from them isn't that great considering the time you spend there. I would rather speed through the task with babies and hope for an Abby Demon task. If you'd rather have slayer XP then use the babies. If you'd rather make a bit of cash then use the adults. Bear in mind you won't lose that much on the babies. Usually 1-2 antifire pots and a super set which is kinda offset with the charms (although it isn't great). Usually you'll get a few green dragon kills in as well by accident so those pay for the pots.

For XP i hear star mining is cool XP

For slayer? Melee babies in the Chaos Tunnels. For profit?. Stick to reds. Cos you like killing black dragons?. You need help! :o

I agree. Mining is really a pain in the bottom as you keep having to click the rock. Woodcutting is a lot calmer and you can chat with your chopping buddies. If you want mining XP I think star hunting would be the way to go. Again you continually mine, and if you join a clan then you have chat buddies. The XP is also very good.

I used Fire Wave to get some mage levels. Broke even as well. If you don't have the option of wave spells then use the bolt spells.

It will work. But the salve ammy only gives bonuses to attack and strength, not mage. You're best bet is to don ya range gear (Black Dragonhide or Karils) and use the salve ammy with a whip.

It just cures you, like the reward from The Great Brain Robbery. Offer you no protection. For kalphites use super antis. I cannon and 4 pots(4) last me the whole trip.

Is the speed that bad on the GS?

Recently got 99 strength and in process made a killing. Mainly due to the increase of rune.slayer drop items since PvP has been released. My original plan was to sell my Saradomin Sword and buy a Zammy Spear (for Waterfiends) and then buy 80 prayer. Leaving me with 15mil ish. However I have done the above and still have 23mil so a Bandos Godsword is calling to me, especially as I want to max attack and defense. I don't like wasting money and always like to have a spare 10 mil in the bank, just in case I die and lose stuff. However this isn't likely, and with the way items are currently, I will be able to bump up my funds very quickly. If need be I have 43k of ess I can craft to deaths. My question is, is the BGS worth it? Obviously I will keep my whip for tasks I need a shield with (very few as I have blocked irons/steel) but goes the BGS go that extra mile? and is it worth leaving myself with only 3 milion for?

Anti-fire. Lots of ways to boost mage.
