    Today...

About to go hiking with a friend. She has no idea how truly out of shape I am, so hopefully I can fake my way through it. I think it's going to be a pretty short hike though.
  2. I don't know but I just logged in, tried to figure it out then gave up. The last time I logged into the game Dungeoneering was a brand new skill. 2010ish I think. OSRS looks pretty close to how I remember the game. Is Legacy something I need to activate? (I honestly have not followed anything about the game for years.)
  3. This looks cool, I have no [bleep]ing idea how to play RS3 though, since it literally didn't exist when I quit playing. I'll probably mess around with it for like half an hour but I doubt it'll hold my interest for long.

So, I think I may have Tourette's Syndrome. I've kinda though it was possible for a few years, but I've only become more convinced with time. I don't shout obscene words or anything like that but I have a number of physical compulsions/tics. They haven't always been the same tics consistently for my whole life, but I've had some sort of tic for the past decade or so. Usually pretty mild compared to most of the examples I've seen, but otherwise very similar. Most recently, it's been a breathing/throat clearing thing. When I first noticed it I attributed it to my smoking (it was during a period of time that I was smoking a lot of hand rolled unfiltered cigarettes), but it's been persistent since then despite me changing my habits. Anyways, I just though it was interesting. Fair chance I'm being a hypochondriac but who knows. I don't really care enough to try to find out for sure, but next time I go to a doctor maybe I'll mention it.

There's really only two parties here (that have any official representation at least), so no. Like Veiva said, some states allow you to vote in a primary without being a registered member of the party (or maybe only independents can vote in both, I'm not sure). Most however, like my own, require you to be registered to the party that you're voting in the primary of, making Independent an idiotic choice, since you effectively prevent yourself in having any say in which candidate you want to receive the nomination. However, if I were registered as a Democrat I could still vote Republican in a general election. I just would't be able to vote for my preferred Republican candidate in their primary. So if Bernie Sanders didn't receive the nomination and I preferred the Republican candidate over Clinton, I could still vote for them. Edit: I personally think that not having open primaries is stupid. I imagine that there would be some issue of trying to sabotage the "opposing" party's primary but I think that of the people who would actually go to both primaries, most would doing so because there's a candidate from both that they're interested in.

Still have to switch to Democratic party so I can vote for Bernie in the Primary. Of course Connecticut is essentially worthless when it comes to voting but I'm still a strong proponent of voting so I'm going to do it anyways as always. No clue why I registered as independent in the first place, all it does it make it so I can't vote in any primary.

North america loves our [bleep]ing flags. In the USA [bleep]ers put that shit up everywhere they can. It's absurd. (Surprise, I'm drunk now. Good times at the bar.)

Doing my last radio show right now. Kinda bittersweet. I'm sure I'll be back on air at some point but for now this is the last time I'll actually have my own show. To all of you in college who are into music: join your college's radio station if they have one, it's dope.

Rhetorical question: What's the point of an age of consent if you're just going to pick some arbitrary number you consider acceptable? I wrote up a moderately long response but meh, gonna just tl;dr it. I think that, if it were possible, things of this nature (age of consent, consumption of alcohol, driving, etc) should be determined on a person to person basis. Since that's not possible, the "arbitrary" number should be tailored to the lowest common denominator. I just happen to think that 16 is too low. I'm no expert though, so my opinion is nothing more than that.

A 16 year old is a child and that's super creepy whether or not its legal. (Unless you're also like 16 then it's cool.)

"The World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die" is actually one band. They're from the town next to where I went to college. A lot of people fiend them. They're alright I guess. Pretentious emo shit for the most part. I've got a couple friends in that scene, my understanding from them is that they're kind of [wagon]. Edit: If you guys want some solid stuff from Connecticut, check out Have a Nice Life (The album Deathconciousness specifically) and Cop (the EP Render. These guys are dope and also I'm friends with some of the guys in the band so gotta give them shouts)

I've got two pairs of hiking boots, plus my doc martens. Probably not going to wear the doc's even though they're super comfy and I wear them pretty much every day. They just aren't the same amount of support and grip, so I'll pick one of the other pairs. As for a pack, I have an old one aluminum frame one that's not in amazing shape but should be good enough. I'm going with my friend who's done a couple several day backpacking trips. It's just the two of us though, so we're going to try to go as light as possible I think. But splitting the required gear between only two people is probably going to be tough. We should be sticking to less than 10 miles (15km) a day. It's fairly steep terrain at parts though. Worst case we'll just ditch early or reduce miles per day.

Honestly it's a dilemma that I don't think is going to resolve itself nicely. Personally, I think someone who's obese should know to make accommodations for themselves when they fly, at the very least for their own comfort (either two seats or a first class ticket). I would be surprised if airlines take an official stance on it any time soon. I don't think it would really even be possible to enforce a weight or waist size limit. If someone buys one seat and is obese, I don't see them breaking out the measuring tape and stopping them from boarding if they exceed the limit. The amount of hassle over trying to enforce a rule like that is definitely not worth it. I'm sure they have analysts who have done the math: it would cost more to implement a policy and enforce it (and deal with the lawsuits over it) than it would to deal with the occasional lawsuit regarding discomfort and the potential safety hazard. It's all a numbers game and it just doesn't make financial sense to implement a policy. Discrimination lawsuits are more common and have more precedence than "I had to sit next to a fat guy" lawsuits.

Gonna be backpacking through the white mountains next week, I'm pretty hype for that. I've never backpacked before so it's probably going to be pretty rough for me going on a 5 day trip but oh well. Now y'all know where I'm going to be so if you ever wanted to find and murder me, now's your chance haha

  22. I mean clearly what he was doing was threatening, she was probably afraid that if she said no he would hurt her (more than he did). She said she wanted to go home and he refuses to take her home. She "fiddles with her phone" (probably texting someone for help or at the very least advice) and he takes it away from her. He stopped her from leaving or getting in contact with anyone. Even if the person is to believed and he was just messing around (which is a load of bullshit, she asked to go home and he refused to let her leave), those are pretty clear signs that he could become violent. She was at absolutely no fault, even if she never said no or stop. Which it sounds like she probably did by the OP's assertion of "she wasn't into it". It was rape plain and simple. Whether the rapist sees it as rape or intended for it to be so is entirely irrelevant to the situation. Coerced consent isn't consent. (Not trying to go off on you, consent is just a topic that I take extremely seriously and want to prevent misinformation on)
  23. Holy shit that's scary. That poor girl. Was Horatio just a different account of Abc? I didn't interact with Horatio on this thread, but his posting style was almost identical.
