Was it truly necessary to say Allah akbar there? Excessive stupidity like that is why Arabs, Christian or Muslim, find Americans disrespectful and bully-ish. The depiction of Mohammad to combact a specific instance in the censorship in which the work of an artist was ruined is acceptable, but ignorant bursts of garbage like pointlessly saying Allah akbar? What is your motivation for saying that other than pure mockery? Nice job assuming he's an American. I wasn't assuming he was American I'm saying that's why Arabs don't like Americans. I live in America and I was pelted with food because my friends and I were speaking Arabic and we talking our "terrorist Allah-loving language". From my experiences, the general American populace that I've dealt with dislikes Middle Eastern people and displays much ignorance. Being dumb and rude shouldn't be something you automatically relate to being an American. For someone who advocates against hatred and stereotypes, you're being very hypocritical. Also, you were assuming and now you're trying to cover your [wagon]. Either way, you're being stereotypical and honestly fairly insulting. There are a hell of a lot of Americans who are Muslim or Middle Eastern as you should know or have absolutely no issues with either of those groups. There are also people in every country in the world that do hate them. It's a bit unfair to just say "Americans display much ignorance" just because that's where you've seen it from. Is it [cabbage] that that happens to you? Absolutely and I'm sorry about it. Edit: This looks like this may turn into an argument I want no part of. I'm not going to touch this thread anymore.
  3. Err, actually they aren't seeing as they're not dead. Just so you know.

  5. It kinda does. Not that it'd be legal for me in Canada either though.

I have school from like 7:10 to 1:43, so it's not to terrible. 4 classes everyday for a semester, then 4 new classes for the next semester. I like the 4 classes a day everyday thing.
  7. For funsies I'll give you guys a look at some of my old pixels. Just remember that these are actually some of the latest ones I did. I don't have my old ones on this computer. [hide] [/hide] Older to newer. Mostly unfinished.

  10. The problem is that it's offensive to the moderate Muslims as well as the extremists. You know what? If they are going to get offended by other people from other religions drawing their prophet then thats their fault. If they were actually a strong, peaceful religion then they would not care what others do or say about their religion because they would just let "god" take care of it and not them. No, it isn't their fault at all, sorry. That's not what any other religion would do, why should they? Sure, extremists murdering over it is [cabbage] and way out of line but the moderates have every right to be upset, just as members of any other religion do.
  11. It's because of the "image" that the mywork guy posted.
  12. I guess as an Atheist I'm never going to understand this hatred between religions thing. [bleep] it, I'm going to sleep Also, bamf = bad [wagon] mother [bleep]er, if that was why you put a question mark after it.
  13. Because that is funny and it makes Jesus look like a bamf. It isn't really on the same level as a picture of Muhammad being [wagon] raped by a pig, at least not in my opinion.

I was under the impression that, for insurance reasons, employees are never supposed to try to stop a robbery if the person resists. Maybe that's just America.
  15. I agree, but that's really not the issue at hand. The majority of people are using this as a way to express hatred towards a culture they don't understand, not to promote freedom of speech. The facebook page for it is a great example of this, despite the fact that it's 90% trolling. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Everybody-Draw-Mohammed-Day/121369914543425 I understand the principle of the "Draw Muhammad" day and although I find it unnecessary, if it was just simply drawing Muhammad I wouldn't care. That's not what it is though, it's an excuse to spread more intolerance especially against a religion that's already as horribly misunderstood as Islam.
  16. But that's the very thing now isn't it? The reason why we can do it here and not over there? The freedom, perhaps? Plus, Nardil's point is too strong to ignore: "It's clearly wrong for people to get murdered over drawing something". It's absolutely true now isn't it? And a better show of respect is Muslims who are against that to not watch it. They should respect the ideas and freedoms of other people. But what about the Muslims who aren't doing anything wrong? It's still offensive to them. Muhammad isn't supposed to be drawn because they don't want him to be seen in a glorious (or derogatory) way. Even if you do have the freedom to do this you're no better than the WBC for using your freedoms to spout hate. You're right. I'm so blind. But we have reached a problem. You see, I follow the glorious Soraism and you have one of my Gods, Riku, plastered all over your profile. It is in my religion that you must not draw or show Riku as he is, for it is unholy and disrespectful to him, his follows, and the faith. Please remove those pictures of Great Riku off your signature and avatar. So what makes Muhammad, Jesus, Riku, Nadril, or Pollock any different? Because you made that [cabbage] up 10 minutes ago and they made it up over a thousand years ago. Also, this thread reeks of racism and elitism.
  17. The problem is that it's offensive to the moderate Muslims as well as the extremists. Edit: also applicable to the above. You can't forget that extremists make up a small percentage of Muslims, so you're essentially offending a bunch of people who haven't done anything other than follow what they believe in.

Who? George Bush obviously. Today Google came to my school. Apparently some girl from my school is a finalist in the doodle for google contest or something. If she wins she gets a scolarship and our school gets $25k which is pretty cool.

I have no problems with learning, I just think that grades shouldn't be the important thing. It should be who is actually learning as opposed to who's willing to jump through hoops. I've seen many brilliant people get shafted because they're not willing to put up with the [cabbage], while kids who really have no life skills or intelligence at all are on top because they're willing to put in 4 hours a night doing mindless repetitious tasks. This is just me ranting about how much I hate the way the world works though, so don't pay to much attention to it. Some day I'll suck it up and join the bleak march towards death, but I want to fight it while I still can Lol super emo funtimes.

Or those who are willing to be the mindless drones and do whatever their told no matter how pointless and those who are actually willing to ask "why?" Either way is true though.

You're over 18 though aren't you? Tell them that their job is done and you can make your own choices. I tried that, doesn't work on her. :( Are we talking tobacco or weed here? Tobacco. Well then just remember that it could be worse. Not that I know if you smoke weed or not, but if you did and your Mom found that out I'm sure it would be worse for you.
