Gielinor Tribune: 13th Edition (Nov. 24th)
[hide=Solidus_77] Incorrect conclusion. Originally, skillers were selling goods slightly under the average price because it was not worth it for them to spend hours sitting on forums. With the GE, they no longer have to spend that time selling therefore they will be able to charge higher prices. The GE also makes it easier for buyers who originally had to buy slightly overpriced if they wanted to get the item they want. What the author presents here is a one-sided conclusion. Yes, it's easier to buy goods at a cheaper price, however it is also easier to sell goods at a higher price. Everyone wins, except the merchants, who were the ones originally facilitating the exchange (but they will NOT be completely destroyed, players who need the cash quickly will not charge so high and merchants can take advantage of that situation). The only exception is the first few weeks, where I think there will be a lot more sellers. This is because people, right now, are holding off on selling goods because they are curious to see what the GE is like but in the long run, prices will be stable and, in fact, a lot more stable than they use to be. That's overly exaggerated and just overly dramatic. The prices will certainly not crash, even if they do fall a bit. Close enough, It only facilitates the selling part but that will lead to more time spent on skills. Note the bias in favor of merchanting Correct, but note an even stronger bias in favor of merchanting This isn't even correct. From what little information we have about G E, there is nothing that suggests that more money will be an input of money into the economy. Speculation based on the assumption that the GE replaces ALL forms of merchanting, which is certainly not true. If so, that implies that cash is being removed from the economy yet you believe it will be added into the economy. If more cash is introduced in the game, that implies a devaluation of the currency and thus an increase in the price of all items. Again this makes no sense with your previous claim The two above claims contradict each other, so not only the author made these claims on mere speculation, they contradict each other and so he is wrong either way. This is just an exaggeration, no comments  First off, this is completely inconsistent with the previous point. If merchants really were destroyed, the price of rares would go down, not up. Second, this is again based on the assumption that this update will put more money in the economy and the assumption the update will cause prices to fall. Considering how both those assumptions contradict each other, this claim is even more invalid. Very poorly written, no economics used to support the claim, it just says "run away! run away! the economy is crashing!". [/hide] Unfortunately, I'm completely clueless about this type of stuff, I just sit back and watch whatever happens happen. Thank you very much for taking time to read the Gielinor Tribune and give us feedback and what you think. People like you make us better even if its in the smallest of ways. : LOL :XD: , fixed. Thats just slightly embaressing....

*RuneScape will shine soon enough_
I dont see how thats better, autoers have never affected me cause i've always expected them, they've always been there. Jagex is just listening to whining 9 year olds who rant forever and cant move on
-
*RuneScape will shine soon enough_
They could sell to the GE, yes, but they can't go and sell the gold they make on RWT sites. so they destroy trading just to keep some people from buying a couple mil from a website....
-
*RuneScape will shine soon enough_
sorry to keep posting but ideas keep coming to me. 1. Forum shops would have to close down cause workers couldn't deliver anymore. 2. All the moneymaking guides would be closed or complete revamped and changed. 3. Couldn't autoers just cut/mine/fish stuff and then sell it in the grand exchange...?
-
*RuneScape will shine soon enough_
i see. :-s Lol, people couldn't use runners anymore. But why would they have updated the trading screen these past few months to stop scammers if they knew about this and been planning up to this no-trade thing all along?? Lol, just think of all us, in the future months and years of Runescape we'll be here on Tip.it posting topics like "I remember back in the days of RS2 where you could actually trade stuff straight to another player!! anyone got some pics maybe?? anyone?" lol :XD:
-
*RuneScape will shine soon enough_
I dont know if this has been said...but instead of being able to drop stuff they'll make it like the holiday items where you can delete them. "sure you want to delete this item?" "yes" *GONE*
-
*RuneScape will shine soon enough_
Perhaps they could retain player to player training, but only for certain quest specific items. Another possibility would be for a cut scene to be put in those quests where the 2 players are shown handing off the items to one another. There are ways to make this work. good point :XD: :

Gielinor Tribune: 13th Edition (Nov. 24th)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ November 24th, 2007 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Gielinor Tribune is the oldest Player-made Runescape Newspaper on Tip.it (Tip.it Times does not count). We've been working hard since May 2007 (the first opening) to make the best RS Newspaper out there and to always keep our reader's expectations. 1. Gielinor Tribune News by Book(GT Manager) 2. A Quest...and a Scarey Outlook by Randox 3. Interview of Kill_life by Killerred005 4. RS Becoming like Wow? by Defender17 5. This Doesn't Look like England... by Azure 6. Comic Contest Winner!! by Dkw0101 7. ~~Multi-Site Steel War~~ 8. Blah! by Moneyman6369 9. Imponderables by Da_Dragon555 10. The Drunken Dwarf's Tip.iter Pick! by Yours Truly 11. Gielinor Tribune Accepting Guest Articles 12. Gielinor Tribune Staff List ~ Part One: Gielinor Tribune News by Book Happy Late Thanksgiving and Some Great GT News! Firstly, I would like to say- Happy Belated Thanksgiving Day!! I had a great one on Thursday, plenty of turkey to go 'round! Now let's get to the GT news! CAP [Clan Assistance Program]: This is well on it's way and hopefully will be able to be released in the 14th or 15th edition! MechScape Times: I, GT Manager, have recently created a "sister newspaper" to the Gielinor Tribune for the upcoming game MechScape! (More info about MechScape can be found here). It's slowly but surely building its way up, but I can't gurantee any editions coming out without some of YOUR help! Just visit the MechScape Times forums or check out the Gielinor Tribune forums that provide a link at the bottom of the Homepage! We're really excited about MST and CAP and by creating these projects we hope to better serve you and the rest of the Runescape community! - Book(Unorclan) Gielinor Tribune Manager ~ Part Two: A Quest...and a Scarey Outlook by Randox Well, since I have some rather grim things to talk about this edition, I will start off with what is hopefully a happy subject, the Land of the Goblins. First, I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t know if there are plans to continue the story, perhaps it will tie in with other quest lines or maybe not. Either way it never really resolved the story, but I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t think we̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll see a continuation of it anytime soon. I know many people were upset that more popular stories were not receiving attention first but Jagex defiantly put lots of effort into the quest. The prime example of their effort is the selection of 6 different goblin forms. They could have easily just had one goblin form, but they took the extra time to give us a bit of choice. The puzzles were also nicely thought out, though a bit easy to go along with the low quest requirements. I know I was satisfied though I was hoping for a more conclusive ending. Next up is the update that turned the rants forum on the official site into a river of flame unlike anything ever seen since the games conception. This was of course the dual arena. Now aside from the large amount of bugs in the tournaments, all stakes are limited to 3k per 15 minutes. Also, the items have been limited so staking via valuable items such as 3rd age is not an option. The problem is that the stakes cannot compete in competitions because the skill levels that make them great stakers, makes them completely useless in other roles. Now this shouldn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t be a problem seeing as tournaments are still the arena, but the random selection of battle criteria makes them useless. A standard melee staker can̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t hope to win if the tournaments continuously have at least 1 battle where melee weapons or melee attacks can̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t be used. It is still a mystery of how Jagex could possibly think that people might be ok with this. There are other more risky ways for real world traders to transfer items so Jagex has, at the end of the day, accomplished next to nothing in the war against real world traders, and at the same time make a sizable portion of their members furious. Now there is one last thing I would like to cover. Starting with staking, followed by the assist system, duel arena cap and soon to be grand exchange, one might notice a disturbing pattern. With all those systems in place, trading will no longer be strictly necessary for the average player. People are getting worried that Jagex will abolish trading next week, though this is unlikely because as much as 50% of members would likely cancel their subscription renewal on the spot. What might happen is a cap or ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åcheck and balance̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

whats your most memorible clan moment
With my own clan, Unorclan, and we had created an Alliance of all the "freedom clans" as i called them and called it the UA (Unor & Allies). We then marched into war and completely ripped our enemies to pieces when before every was scared to death we were gonna lose terribly. It was so much fun and awesome and I had the privilage to chase the enemies leader right out of wildy and finally to his death. The victory wasn't mine or Unor's it was the UA's alone. good times.... :

WELCOME TO UNORCLAN'S BLOG OF AWESOMENESS [hide=News [update]]News: 11-29-07: New Goals and New Pictures and New Stat pic update. 11-28-07: 76 Mining!! \ 11-24-07: 13th Edition of the Gielinor Tribune is released! And I join the RuneMart team! 11-22-07: I've got a banner!! I dug through some ancient pictures and found my old Unorclan banner. It'll do for now : And New Pictures section, enjoy! 11-22-07: [/hide] [hide=About Moi]About Moi: Well, lets start out with a pic shall we? Yep that's me! OR A pic of me I prefer over any others... And here are my stats [hide=Old Stats](taken 11/22/07) [/hide] Okay, well lets seee.... I first found out about Runescape back in the days of classic! But when I attempted to play it the stupid thing wouldn't load. Therefore I dismissed it. A good while later right after RS2 came out I got back on and tried to play it again - wouldn't load yet again! Rediculous computer!! Finally one day I was playing on Miniclips.com and suddenly I thought maybe I'd try to play Runescape again. ALAS!! It worked! That was around September 2005. : I created the Runescape name "bookgeek" and thats been my main ever since. Then, in October of 2006 I created a clan. Yep, its a weird story but somehow I ended up with a clan. I was fishing one day on the docks of Karamaja when I saw this guy advertise his clan asking people to join. I thought it was kind of cool so I came up with a name and said "Who wants to join Unor Clan???". One person....one person said "Me!". Weird, but I added this guy. Bobanater44 was his name and he was soon to become my Co-leader. The History of Unor Clan doesn't matter much, we had some good, bad, and great times. We had alliances and kicked other clans butts like crazy. Our forums were awesome and we had around 25-30 ACTIVE members. The fall of Unor Clan was when my "trustworthy" Co-leader (no longer Bobanater44, he had retired) quit the clan and took over half of it with her. But who cares? More about me less about the clan. I came to Tip.it in December 2006 (just a little while after I had created Unor Clan) with the idea of creating an account on these forums and Advertising an event my clan was doing. The event was Helping the Poor Noobs this Christmas. LOL  . I advertised and no one ever replied, but no matter it was fun anyways. Anywho, since I was coming to TIF in the name of Unor Clan to advertise this event I therefore made my account name "Unorclan". Yep thats where my name comes from. Now a couple people way back then asked what UNOR standed for and only 2-3 people know and they've already retired from Runescape. Unfortunately I'm not telling anyone here what it means....yet. Great times in Tip.it forums....blah blah blah....May 2007. In May of this year (07) I was browsing through the F2P Discussion and I saw this topic posted by Junka666 about a Newspaper he was starting. I read this topic and became pretty intersted in the Gielinor Tribune. I signed up to become a Interviewer. I kept checking up on the topic and it was doing pretty well and then I noticed Junka was asking about creating a website or forum for his Newspaper. Well, remembering the Unor Clan forums of awesomeness, I offered to make a forum and therefore I did. The later Summer months came and GT published some editions which were great and then I went off to 3 weeks of vacation. When I finally came back from vacation over half the Staff (Junka666, the owner, included) had deserted the forums and vanished. I did a little magic, roused up the forums, gathered back some of the staff, cleaned up the forums for working conditions, and got everyone to put together another edition. The day for publishing came and Junka666 was no where to be found to post it on Tip.it. The next day, Sunday, it still wasn't posted. Therefore I took it upon myself to post it. I posted it on TIF and decided "heck I'm pronoucing myself as the Self-Pronounced Acting Manager of the Gielinor Tribune" (I like the long titles.). Ever since then I've been the Manager of the Gielinor Tribune and have expanded the publishing range of it to Ksa, Runevillage, Land of Guthix, Honest1 Productions, Tip.it Assistance, and of course Tip.it still. Now I am currently working on creating ANOTHER sister Newspaper of the Gielinor Tribune called MechScape Times Now lets look at my current forum stats: GT Forums - Admin MechScape Forums - Admin MechScape Times - Admin Retired RS Players Clan - Admin Rune-power Forums - Global Mod Honest1 Productions Forum - Mod Assistance Team - Mod RuneMart - Worker : Impressive eh? Lol, not really.... :XD: [/hide] [hide=Goals **UPDATED**]Goals: RS GOALS OTHER GOALS 1. Expand Gielinor Tribune into a dominate online empire to influence the minds of every player on runescape....did I say that outloud? :XD: 2. Become a better Tip.iter (and I've always thought it'd be nice to be a Mod but I've been to naughty :wall: :P 3. Build my MechScape Forums up to become more active and popular. 4. Build MechScape Times up and actually get it working \ 5. Heck, have fun while doing 1-4[/hide] [hide=Duel/Wildy Pics] These are the pictures of a Duel I had MANY moons ago...and won. Last pic you can see the guy behind me teleporting away cause he ran out of wildy [/hide] [hide=Some More Pictures]Some Pics: PARTIES I'VE ATTENDED THATS ME IN THE FRONT LEADING IT ME IN THE FRONT AGAIN ME IN THE FRONT ONCE AGAIN OTHER PICTURES Most of these pictures are 6+ months old, lol.
