Some mmorpgs, without even age restrictions don't have filtrers at all. Is it chaos or anarchy? No, because no one makes a big deal out of it, and you can still report offenders. Out of all the gaming companies, it's only Jagex that's making a big deal out of the "offensive language", and putting these ridiculous filtrers. Why? Because Jagex themselves said they will target more and more kids in the future, they want to make the game kid friendly. And since they're doing that, it's only fair for adults to have a few adult servers, it's not asking for much here. This idea is ridiculous on so many levels First the majority of the players in this game are under 18 get used to it. If you want to be "cool adults" and curse people out go to a bar Second if you start segregating worlds to an "age" what will stop some-one from wanting worlds that can be only accessed by a certain country because their country is "more mature". Third Jagex would never guarantee the authenticity of the worlds by asking for a ss number. With the rate of identity theft who would be handing out their ss number to be in the "adult" world ? You then have the exact same problem of kids on those worlds except now they have more opportunity to be jerks or give away personal details I strongly disagree with this statement. Just because some-one is older doesn't mean that they are less inclined to swear or be immature. If you haven't noticed most pedophiles are adults :roll:
