  1. There should be one more option: WTF is Twitter anyways? I'd have voted for that.
  2. lordkafei posted a topic in Off-Topic
Statewide survey shows "ball tapping" problem widespread (courtesy WTHR-TV, Indianapolis) Is this solely an American phenomenon? When I was a freshman, this was part of our "initiation" into high school. But people even post these ambushes on YouTube nowadays.
  3. System update in 9 minutes; looks like the other shoe is about to drop.
  4. You can try a different time server (I just synchronized with time.windows.com) if you are having trouble updating, but that doesn't answer why your computer is diverging in the first place.
  5. You can no longer bank them. Before they closed this loophole, I managed to deposit one... it's on my Summoning tab. But you can no longer do it, and I am unable to deposit any further boxes.
  6. I personally hope you have to go back, gather all the turkey meat & teach the Lumbridge chef about deep fried turkey.
  7. It wouldn't let me pick up the turkey meat as I killed them, but when I went back later they were gone. The brother said not to worry, he'd take care of it later...
  8. Agreed - I do not understand all the nerd love for white text on a dark background.:thumbdown::thumbdown:
  9. XP works fine with SATA; you just need drivers. The only hard drives in my XP machine are SATA drives. http://news.softpedia.com/news/Install-Windows-XP-On-SATA-Without-a-Floppy-F6-47807.shtml
  10. The original trilogy, for starters. I will eventually get that expansion, but that's a ways off. "This expansion pack requires that players have at least one of the previous Guild Wars campaigns and at least one character at level 20. If you want to play Eye of the North (EotN), you must already have Guild Wars: Prophecies, Guild Wars: Factions, and/or Guild Wars: Nightfall installed or purchase at least one of them now." So there's no point in my getting EotN for a while.
  11. I expect to be in Guild Wars this time next year. Amazon has it on sale for $37.74 - far cheaper than a year of Nerfscape. Plus it will get me grounded for GW2 when it comes out. I'll probably still be in RS doing merch stuff, but my days of playing day in and day out are over. The GE is the only content that appeals to me now.
  12. The last five songs in the iTunes shuffle: The Pharcyde - Soul Flower Rihanna - Umbrella Young MC - Bust a Move Prince - Acknowledge Me L.T.D. - (Every Time I Turn Around) Back In Love Again
  13. Does the Herblore update not count as high level? Or is level 95 too low level for you? ... It was high level before it became Nerflore, now it's just more useless & unsalable pots.
  14. You don't realize how well off you have it.
  15. If buy offers at the max price won't go through the GE, then it means the supply is down. IOW, get over your sense of self-entitlement and go catch & cook your own damned fish. The GE is not the Runescape version of Kroger. You can't buy what players are unwilling to sell.
  16. IMO, if the vote is a pure popularity contest, then the award should be named "Most Popular UK Dev" instead of "Best UK Dev". YMMV.
  17. Quick find code: 15-16-985-59800114 Jagex should open a dog obedience school - they have gotten rolling over down to an art form.
  18. If they'd ever get some skins up that weren't eyesores, people might post more.
  19. Look on the bright side - exposure to pyramid schemes in a play setting might make you better equipped to recognize them in real life. Education is the best way to fight merch clans. No changes to the GE short of absolute price fixing will have any realistic effect. And I am adamantly opposed to price fixing. I do not think there is any way to remove merching from the game. Having said that, I believe Jagex should move to take advantage of them to the greatest benefit of the game at large. I believe there should be a tax on all transactions in the GE. Call it a sales tax or a value added tax or whatever. Whether it's flat rate or graduated, I really don't care. But every time some mercher buys and sells items through the GE, a portion of the GP should be removed. This would let the emergent gameplay continue and add a new money sink to the game. I further state the tax should be punitive and heavy - a tax of 50% would not be out of line, IMO. Right now, there is no real long-term cost to merchanting. That must change. If Billy Bob sells his home grown herbs or the ores he mined with his own virtual sweat, there should be no tax. The tax should only come into play if an item was bought, held & sold for profit. This would encourage people to produce instead of depending on merching. I know I will take some abuse over this position. But I do believe merching is a textbook example of emergent gameplay, and I think it has a place in RuneScape. Jagex might as well take advantage of it to address the inflated money supply.
  20. I don't get it... What's the point? It didn't even seem that helpful or worthwhile in the first place... QFC please? Maybe he's got a list of valid-or-other reasons... I only use it when I plant Poison Ivy, but you could use it for a quick prayer altar and possibly use it for mining the rocks just outside It would be great for mining, and anything that encourages people to actually mine ores instead of chasing stars all day is a Good Thing.
  21. So let's say Jagex shuts down the publicly advertised clans... do you not think they will go underground and keep on merching?
  22. It seems everyone in Runescape has the same color eyes...
  23. I ran the Win 7 Upgrade Advisor, and hardware-wise, I am good to go. But they will have to address the XP upgrade procedure before I jump. You shouldn't have to pay for a third party app to upgrade from XP to Win 7. Microsoft is giving me the finger, so I'll give it right back.
  24. I think it looks nice. Reminds me of the soul wars capes which I also like the looks of. Also, when doing the crossbow task in the elite diary, you get a list up of things to do after you do one of the steps in making the crossbow. You would think the Ardougne cape would at least share the same colors as the Ardougne banners (like those at the north gate). That emblem would have looked great on the back of a cape. Instead, we got an unimaginative grey & black rag that looks like it needs to be washed on the rocks at Taverly.
  25. There is no forge in Yanile or Witchhaven, so you don't have to smelt the ores there (I didn't superheat in the bank). You need bars, yew log & raw meat to do the cbow step. You will have to spin the string at Witchhaven and smith the bars at Yanile anvils. Fletch the logs at either.
