I'm all for high level content, but I do have to agree with this. The biggest issue I have with this is people with dial-up. You can have the best prayer switching abilities in RS, but if you have dial-up internet, you have a pretty high chance of losing against Jad. The lag is so bad in some cases that you don't actually hear the sound of what to pray, until the attack actually hits you. I really wish Jagex had taken that in consideration when they designed the update. Instead they should have made it so that while wielding the Firecape you hit double. This gives those who have the cape, a clear advantage. But those who cannot get the cape due to connection issues a much harder time killing, but still a way to kill them. If jagex were to take into consideration every person on dialup, then they wouldn't have many difficult things in the game. These staffs are meant to be difficult to obtain, and the pre-requisites for getting them make it so. People on a dialup connection shouldn't complain about not being able to kill Jad, as there are many other things they'd struggle to do. Pking properly, Corporal beast, TD's, God wars, the list goes on. If you really want to take full advantage of Runescape, maybe it's time to upgrade to broadband. You make it sound like a matter of choice, but that is not necessarily so. What you fail to understand is that broadband is still not available everywhere, even in the US. As of December, 5.45% of US Internet users were using dial-up. Whether by choice or lack of options is another matter. But Rural America is not wired as much as you think. I, personally, don't have a problem with the fire cape req. as long as you can't get a wyrm assignment without it. Now, if that slayer mistress starts giving out wyrm assignments to people (like me) without the cape, and I am unable to attack the things & have to dump the assignment, I will raise holy hell. And a fire cape is one of those parts of the game I will not be fooling with, because of my dial-up connection (along with the Nomad cape).

I see a lot of the complainers were trying to stream MP3s with the dongles and needed more robust software. All I need right now is to connect to my cell phone, so I think I can make do with what's in XP. I bought one of those half-moon shaped ones just now - with shipping it's under $5 so I figured, what the hey.

Unfortunately, this phone has no USB jack that I can see. And yes, I am for legal stuff in this instance. I bought this phone used; it came with no cables. But I'd still rather get Bluetooth working. As Sheldon Cooper says, "Everything is better with Bluetooth."

I recently bought a cell phone that has Bluetooth capabilities (v. 1.2). So now, I am looking for a Bluetooth dongle for my PC (Win XP, SP3). Looking on Amazon, I see wild differences in price, from < $5 to over $20. I gather that the included software is part of the reason for the cost differences. I also see a lot of complaints about evaluation software that expires after a few weeks, requiring an investment in updated software to make the dongles useful again. I am looking for recommendations on which dongle I could buy that would work for me. Doesn't have to be on Amazon.

Try going to the USA Jagex store which ships to anywhere else not in Europe. ;) I might actually buy the card instead of my usual payment option as this seems to be even cheaper. Thanks- wasn't aware there were two different stores.

It's funny that they give the price in USD, yet do not sell the card to the USA. Every country on the list is in Europe. They should sell these the way Amazon sells gift cards - let you choose delivery by e-mail. Why do you need to move some physical plastic card through the mail these days? Get with the times already.

Codec packs often cause as many problems as they solve. I suggest you download GSpot and see which one codec you need. Just open the video file in GSpot, click 1 under MS A/V to see what your system expects. After you install the proper codec, you can click 2 to see if it works.

It's been a $5 download at Amazon for weeks, but I can't convince myself to buy it.

Brimhaven is utterly useless for those of us with level 3 Karamja gloves (close proximity to a 10gp cart ride). And the GE spirit tree is still closer to the exchange than the rings, and much quicker to use than the ring process.

And if they hadn't called, they'd be catching no end of grief. This should serve as an excellent example that what you type in a virtual gaming environment can have real world consequences.

Doesnt the fairy ring do the exact same thing? It's right outside the ge and you run past the coal and maples as u come round the castle. Plus its less distance to run than the spirit tree. and you can go right bk again The spirit tree is inside the GE walls (unlike the rings) and I don't have to fetch a staff from the bank to use it.

I must concur about gold ore. It is in massive oversupply and falling in price. I am beginning to wonder if it will fall lower than coal.

I put mine in Etceteria. It's in the perfect place - you pass by all the activities (teaks, maples, mahoganies, coal, etc) on the way to the castle. You can make your runs to Etceteria from the GE and go right back to sell your wares. It makes MTK painless & easy.
