  1. People often don't like what's different. The list of times this has occasioned would be a mile long. However, as aforementioned, this is partially changing because so many more people are taking up gaming. When something is no longer so different, it becomes more accepted. This effect is imo largely exponential: It's harder to say that someone 'has no life' because they play a game when your brother (or even yourself) plays Halo. The same principle can be applied to past introductions of ways for people (children especially) to spend time: football wasn't universally accepted when it was introduced and neither was baseball, but today people watch both sports regularly without objection to them. Gaming is also not seen in the United States as it is in other countries on the average basis, I'd say. Nations like South Korea jump to mind when I think of a nation with many gamers. On that note, gaming has been seen (atleast in the States) as entertainment which more than often encourages violence among children, and is thus denounced (though I strongly question the validity of this argument). But, as people get accustomed to video games being a part of people's lives, they have become imo a more 'acceptable' form of entertainment.
  2. I like to have some Diablo occassionally. And definitely a strategy game like Days of Ruin for the DS, or Warcraft TFT (the RTS--not WoW). I could use a little more strategy from RS.
  3. You should mention the relevant slayer levels for helping with the KC. A 'high slayer level' is too vague. The relevant levels are: 63 (rangers), 68 (warriors), and 83 (mages). In my experience, having 68 is fine (and 63 would probably suffice as well, though I've not tested that), though it'd be a pain to get the KC with <63 as you'd probably use up more than one terrorbird if you had to wait for Saradomin monsters to begin their attack.
  4. She was best back then :) With melee back, I would like to see some hybrid Zil teams.
  5. A risk factor is also a balancing factor. A clan in rune with dragon scimitars might not do so well against a clan in Bandos armor with AGSes. But if items are destroyed, its unlikely that many people would risk their most precious items (with some exceptions).
  6. You'll need to update your guide to reflect the new super restores. They now restore summoning points (meaning most of your inventories now have an extra slot). I've used your guide in the past for duo, and three+, and also used your old solo method (back when the walls were used as safespots). Before that, I Zilled with the hit-and-run melee technique with friends. But today I soloed again, and I have to thank your guide for the help. No drops yet, but that's to be expected. Thanks again, -Fins Edit: Soloed again today and got four kills this time. I'm definitely improving. Right after that, I was duoing with a friend when a guy outside asked if he could join us. We let him in and within a few kills, we snagged back-to-back Saradomin swords. On a strategic note, I think you only mention using the walls to get Bree/Starlight off of you after Zil is dead. However, I find that if I'm near the north/south wall and have the minions on me, that quickly getting near on wall and then re-engaging Zil can be an effective technique. Of course, this is primarily useful for 2 man teams or more. I think you ought to reevaluate your solo setup. To begin with, I think you're putting alot at risk with that Zamorak top, which today has a GE median price of 905k. I find it a better option to bring along a Zamorak book and wear black dhide. This uses an extra slot, but it gives the same stats as a Zamorak d'hide and lowers the amount you risk by 850k~. Furthermore, I think the V helm is just a stronger choice in general over the T helm. Using protect item, you're going to keep your helm, so why not make it a good one?
  7. The tasks are so easy, I think a guide would slow me down. What would definitely speed me up though is an order in which to do them (so that I don't waste time). If I did the tasks in order, I'd be running all over the area.
  8. The wilderness course is a pain because of revenants. If you choose to use it at all, then I suggest switching to the werewolf course at 60. Also, pick up Dorgesh-Kaan earlier in agility training; I believe 80-85 is the suggested level to begin there.
  9. If you have all the requirements for Rocking Out, it seems to me that you'd probably be able to cut teak trees for faster experience.
  10. Your guide looks fine, though the method doesn't look spectacular as you said. You may consider posting your average xp/hour (5-15k every 10 minutes tops off at 90k with a minimum of 30k. That's a broad range). Also, perhaps your gp/hour.
  11. That we do Mens. That we do. Unless anyone would like to split a hilt 30k at a time #-o
  12. Congrats Mark :P Enjoy the sword (lets make use of it for DKing when we can actually share loot again).
  13. Before the GE update, if you did not empty the coal and keep it at 50 level and mith at 85 you could not only make Xp but also good money. if the usual moron did not come to empty your world (thinking it is smart to buy a skill) you seldom need to swap worlds. In the rare case no coal/mith load arrives you could train some agility at the pedals. Skills were not made to be bought. Bat to be trained and gain from them. On the contrary, one can do anything they want with a skill. It can be smart to buy a skill, depending on how much your time is worth (if you can make tons of money an hour double nat crafting, it might be a better option to buy skills like crafting/smithing to save money). Furthermore, some people don't enjoy skills, and want to buy them as quick as possible. Thus, what is smart for you might not be smart for some.
  14. Would you suggest any armor? For energy purposes, I would be wearing spottier cape, boots of lightness, and penance gloves using energy potions as necessary.
  15. " 8.0 - Agility 1-40:Toy Mouse Need Help on how these work. 40-52:Brimhaven Agility Course Make sure you have food, about 1k and Super Energy restore potions (optional). The quickest way to get here would probably be by going to Ardougne then using the ship (southeast of south bank) to Brimhaven, then travel to the Course. Pay Capitan Izzy no Beard (guy in agility cape) then climb down the ladder. The object of the game is simple, follow the arrow until you get to where its pointing, when you get there tag the post and wait until the arrow moves to a different area, follow it, repeat. 52-67:Wilderness Course Bring some food with you so you can restore you health when you fail (you will fail even if your 99 agility) also bring something to cut webs with. Get there by pulling the lever next to the entrance to West Ardougne. Once you get teleported to the wild walk north until you hit a web, cut it. Now walk west until you reach the gates of the course. (you should pass Mage Arena and Pirates hideout on the way there) 67-90:Ape Atoll Course You must do Monkey Madness and have a ninja gree gree though to do this course. And because you have completed MM it shouldn't be hard to get there, just go south from the guy you bought the talismans from in the quest and you should reach it. 90-99:Doresh-Kaan Course Need some help with this method. " Agility: Toy mouse mechanics: Toy mice are an effective way to train agility at lower levels. Built in a POH on a crafting table 4 with a clockwork (made with 1 steel bar) and a plank. To train with toy mice, it is commended you have a few of them. The exact number isn't something I've calculated, but I suggest 8-11. To train, first wind all mice, then release all the mice, and then finally catch all the mice. The problem arises in that toy mice run everywhere. To overcome this, go to an area with very little room for the mice to run (I suggest the top of a tower in Falador, though there are many locations to use). The wilderness I used to like, though I hear revenants now make it a pain. I'm not sure if mice are better than barbarian course, but I think they are. The werewolf course should be considered after updates to the wilderness. Ape atoll to 99 an onwards. Dorgesh'Kaan isn't that great. Also, energy potions for all training (except mice and Brimhaven). Cakes and agility potions for Brimhaven. A knife for Ape atoll (to cut pineapples) 67-75. I'm lukewarm on this guide. It could be quite good, but I feel at present you lack the experience (this can be overcome with others' aid though) and the guide lacks detail.
  16. Like I said, we didn't get any from Bandos there, but I might have some DK/KQ pics of drops.
  17. I do remember you Skala. You're a friend of Zaid's if I'm correct? I once played some BA (another abbreviation, though I no longer play it) with you. Thanks Zaid, and a Merry Christmas to you, and speaking of GWD.. Basic Bandos GWD background: You need to kill 40 followers of Bandos (goblins, orks, hobgoblins, jogres, ogres), to enter his dungeon, and you also need 70 strength and hammer. The boss fights one person with melee, and hits everyone with range attacks. The three bodyguards each have their own attack; range, mage, or melee. Mechanics: General Graardor (the boss, level 624), attacks someone at random, but if before he attacks someone else attacks him, he focuses that person. The person designated for him to attack is called the tank, who uses melee prayer. Strategy: Tank grabs Graardor with melee prayer on. Everyone else prays range. To help the tank stay, everyone else brings saradomin brews for he or she to use when tanking. Loot: We didn't get any, but the Bandos Hilt, Bandos Chestplate, Bandos Boots, Bandos Tassets, and godsword shards are among them.
  18. Colors: Up to you. As long as it looks fairly smooth. The blue hue from the cape would be suitable, though I trust you to use your judgement. Images?: I'm flexible on this. Something to do with agility. Text: 99 Agility or 99 (with agility inferred) or Agility (something relating to Agility, you get the point Lit) Notes (anything you want to add): Am I being too broad? I could attempt something more specialized if you'd like. The size should be no greater than 80x80 pixels and file size 6 kb.
  19. I would newver sit in one patch Lit; that's slow and bad experience. Speaking of that... nearly (<400 xp) 74 farming. I'll consider you joining Gabe. Consider.
  20. Perhaps, but I'm not sure which skill (I do like farming though). Anyway, today I've been KQing, did some slayer, and grabbed 77 attack, 77 str, and 72 slayer. In addition to that, I got 66 hunter today and 68 fletching. Thanks so much to Lit for his gift! Thanks Lit
  21. I think you ought to compare butler speeds to lyre speeds.
