Well it's your level squared divided by 6 (or 12 in the case of prayer) Average point speed is 100points in two hours. Upon cashing 100 points in you get 10% extra. So if you can get more exp in 2 hours outside pest control than (let's say your skill you want to train is attack and you have 60 attack (=60*60/6)) 66K experience then PC is not for you.

In my opinion you shouldn't look at which quest is hardest... Just go for it without a guide as early as possible. People who say a quest is a pain have probably used a guide for help and it's just a walkthrough where you'll just wait for it to end. Try it without a guide and throughout the quest you will get more kicks for getting something right! But then again... Well I and my friend kill about 100 an hour if no pkers attack... Use the level 84 ancient tele to the graveyard and a few steps to green dragons. (And to get to edge, run a few levels and glory)

There is a reason why dragonhide armor are high magic defence armor. In other words : it would be more useful using bronze dagger against it.
