Amazing episode, could have really done more with the final church scene. It was way too cheesy and all the religious crap left a really bad taste in my mouth.

That's a good speech haha. I think the worst thing I've said to a cop when I was drunk is "You think you're [bleep]ing Batman or something driving around in that patrol car?" When he said "yes" back to me with a straight face I was speechless and everyone had a good laugh at me.

Better than having them tell us it's just some inside joke about random people we don't know (referring to the numbers, of course).

I love Porcupine Tree but I can see them being not so hot live. They never come to the Twin Cities anyways. The closest is Chicago and I'm not about to drive 7 hours to see them.

They Live is probbaly one of the greatest movies of all time and that fight seen is simply amazing hahaha. Just got back from Iron Man 2. Just watched the first one last night so it made it better and I can't really complain with Robert Downey Jr.

Just bought my ticket (and 7 other ones for all of my friends that want to go) for the Tool show on July 1st in St. Paul. This will be my first time seeing them. [bleep]ing pumped!

Mind [bleep] movie: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas hands down It's not a mind [bleep], it's a drug movie. Big difference. If you're looking for crazy mind [bleep] movies though I'd suggest Memento, The Machinist, Chinatown, Se7en....the list goes on.

I realize people have been listening to singles forever, I guess I just feel like a lot of the people my age that I know only listen to singles. In all honesty, I know I'm going to listen to it at least a few more times before I give up on it but my first impression was not good.

Tip.it has some of the most well-maintained forums, content, calculators, guides, etc. and Jagex only gives us gold. At first I was a little miffed, but now I really could care less. Everyone knows Tip.it is the best fan site out there. We don't need Jagex to define how 'good' of a fansite we are. [bleep] 'em.

I bought my Mom and I two tickets to see Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers in June. It'll be at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul which is a great, large concert venue. I'm very excited to see them and I get to light up with my Mom for the first time :thumbup:

Nothing like a good ol' Desmond episode. They're always fantastic and tie up a lot of loose ends. He's the joker in the deck.

I was able to forgive the guys for shooting a couple of them because there were dark objects slung over their shoulders. That is fine, but what irked me is that not only did they continue to slaughter already wounded and clearly unarmed civilians, but then destroyed a rescue van with children in it. Even after they were done they mocked the dead civilians by laughing at a tank that ran over one of the bodies and laughed at the courtyard full of dead civilians, congratulating each other on such great marksmanship. These soldiers may have been on edge at the start, but judging by their reaction afterward they did not care if the people they shot were civilians or not. It's just disgusting.

Dead Snow One of the best zombie movies I have ever seen. My other favorites are probably 28 Days Later and Zombieland.

What's wrong with that, what I like about music is when it's catchy. I don't mind Of Moons, Birds, and Monsters as a structure, the whole thing is a little too reverb-y and hazy to suit me. I'm not going to start an argument about how to appreciate music, but what I can say is that a band like MGMT is very abstract. And typically when a band is abstract, they are forced to produce something to get attention such as a hit single. Maybe I'm a dying breed, but I don't listen to singles. I don't buy into the whole iTunes/Limewire generation of downloading single songs. I only listen to full albums. When an artist makes an album, you should listen to the whole thing, not just the catchy songs. An album is a work of art and listening to singles is like looking at a single brush stroke from the Mona Lisa; you can't appreciate it without it being in the context of the entire work. That being said, you can still have a track or two that you prefer more than others. That's completely reasonable. But I don't think it's fair to just discard the rest of an album. Whether you like it or not, those songs are what the band you are listening to thinks sound good and they want you to listen to that as well. And FYI: MGMT is a shortened version of their original name The Management.

I hate people who only like the hits that MGMT have put out. Those aren't even really their best work, only their catchiest. Of Moons, Birds, and Monsters is easily their best song and Oracular Spectacular was a pretty fine album through and through. But anyways I lost patience with the new album when I listened to it. After 5 songs I didn't really feel like they were going anywhere with it. I don't think they knew where they were going with it. They wrote some good tunes, got famous, and don't know how to follow up such a tremendously popular album. Maybe I'll listen to it again, but i really don't have any interest to listen to that surf-style stuff again. Ick.

I've been reading a lot of Hunter S. lately. The Great Shark Hunt is a fantastic book.

I think we should have an OT group viewing of "Trainspotting".
