  1. The Deer Hunter This movie was an absolute gritty masterpiece. I have never had chills in a movie as long as I did during the bar table, tongue in cheek rendition of "God Bless America". This movie needs more recognition.
  2. [hide=Major Spoiler]I thought it was a hell of a lot better than Nicolas Cage convincing those creatures that he should be able to go along. I was surprised when EVERYONE ON EARTH DIED. Seriously? You don't see that very often.[/hide]
  3. The Searchers Had seen it when I was a lot younger with my Grandpa and decided to re-watch it. Great movie.
  4. Yes, and I gave you the thread where you are supposed to do that in. I was just pointing out that you were wrong.
  5. Feel So Low by Porcupine Tree The entire For Emma, Forever Ago album by Bon Iver is quite a heartbreaking album.
  6. I'll have to disagree. Was not a terrible movie at all. First half was mediocre, but the last half and the ending were quite interesting. Why would you create a thread to simply bash a new movie, if you want to bash it, go the "What movie(s) did you last see?" thread and express your opinion on the movie. Don't be a douche and post some pointless topic bashing it.
  7. When you said they "sing really high", my first thought was Bone Thugs 'N' Harmony because they sing, while being high.
  8. He didn't summon it. If you paid attention, Locke and Ben really didn't know what to do. It simply came out to judge Ben, just like it did Mr. Eko.
  9. I want pirates to make a comeback.
  10. Saw Knowing last night. Crappy and cliche for the last half but so messed up and ridiculous in the last half I must say I really liked it.
  11. The Grapes of Wrath Steinbeck is one of my favorite authors and although much different from the text, this movie delivers the tone and theme that Steinbeck wrote in so well. Loved it.
  12. I'd wish to hear The Times They are a-Changing. If he plays that, then I will kill you after Lateralus does.
  13. What was that line at the end about being in the shadow of the statue? Have those people that survived the crash somehow been to the island too?
  14. The Fourth Amendment protects from unlawful searches, which IS wiretapping without a warrant and the reasoning "if you have nothing to hide, then you shouldn't be afraid of being searched" is considered a fallacious argument because it commits the fallacy of Slippery Slope reasoning. Anyone arguing with that in mind is wrong, without a doubt.
  15. Wow. Amazing episode. We finally find out where that smoke monster comes from.
  16. Don't worry, Robert_de_Sable is just an angsty little Canadian child. I don't think he understands the United States Government or Constitution that well.
  17. Actually, if you read the article, only FOUR historians have ever mentioned anything about the existence of someone named Jesus and each of them were only a few sentences each. Hardly the massive amounts of literature that were written by the "authors" of the bible.
  18. Are you sure about that consensus? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus_myth
  19. The Shawshank Redemption...for the umpteenth time. My favorite movie of all time.
  20. Finally someone else that understand logical thinking and philosophy in general.
  21. Almost every civilization in history has some sort of reference to dragons, so using your logic, there must have been dragons on Earth at one point, right?
  22. Do you realize that almost all of the New Testament was written over 100 years after it happened and most of the "historians" that claim to be primary sources have either been refuted as completely false or never existed in the first place.
