  1. You're obviously too narrow-minded to understand any abstract concepts offered by either of those courses, either that or you just didn't pay attention.
  2. EDIT: Maybe not, but there was nothing in the Constitution that said that we could. Slavery was never mentioned in the constitution as being justified. (We did have a clause about stealing land from the Indians, though. I think it's the same thing...they were a war-time state, so we stole their [cabbage]. That's life, mate.) My advice to you is take a History class, followed by a Political Science class. I think your local community college could even offer it.
  3. Alright, way to argue semantics on me. The Supreme Court, 9 citizens, did not apologize. The point is, it was WRONG that's why our own President apologized and gave reparations. It was an overreaction and in the end, was not justified. Did the Supreme Court ever apologize for slavery? Segregation? Stealing land from Native Americans? Those things must be justified as well, right?
  4. Yeah, so you're telling me that 78% of the country must be Democrats, Liberals, or uneducated morons that stare at the television all day. Hmm. The same people that can elect the President aren't taken seriously when they judge him? It's not a "Bush-Bashing Trend". The guy was a horrible President. End of story.
  5. You just keep making a bigger fool out of yourself. http://www.democracynow.org/1999/2/18/w ... _internees Thousands of Japanese-Americans under no suspicion other than that they were Japanese compared to "a couple hundred" suspected terrorists.
  6. Bush was the worst public speaker I have ever witnessed, he got us into at least one unjustified war in Iraq (possibly two if you want to believe the 9/11 conspiracies, but for the sake of sanity, Afghanistan was justified), increased governmental spending, sent our country into trillions of dollars worth of debt, and the list goes on. What exactly did he "Get Done"?, because when only 22% of the American public believes you're doing a good job, you know something is wrong.
  7. Both after 9/11 and the bombing of Pearl Harbor this became completely justified and legal. There were no civil liberties to them. Not even the UN's list of Human Rights retain habeas corpus. Public safety? Invasion? Yeah our base 2,390 miles away in Hawaii gets bombed, the Japanese are still over 3,000 miles away from the mainland, yet American citizens are rounded up like animals and put into internment camps under no reasons other than their nationality. Did we go ahead and round up every Muslim or Middle Eastern person in America after 9/11? No, because it's inhumane and un-American to say that every Middle Eastern or Muslim citizen in America represents a terrorist's viewpoint, just as it was to claim that Japanese-American citizens were spies and wanted to take down America. EDIT: And to War_Junky_91, I agree with you, but raven_guard is still insisting that it was justified. That's what I'm trying to prove.
  8. In 15 years we'll see how Bush basically ruled the country by Executive Fiat. A President doesn't need Congress to pass an Executive order. He isn't helpless to the powers of Congress like you portray him, or any other President for that matter. Just wait awhile for it all to come spilling out.
  9. For the first time in a very long time, I am COMPLETELY speechless. Did you read the rest of it? I like it just as much as you do, but it was something that had to be done. I don't need to read the rest of it. The rounding up of Japanese-American CITIZENS by the United States Government was completely a violation of their civil liberties. It was one of the most racist things our government has done since the days of slavery. As George Carlin said, "Rights aren't rights if they can be taken away. The only right they had was ...Right this way! Into the internment camp."
  10. Mr. Rodgers' Neighborhood, Nova, Doug, Rugrats, Tom & Jerry, Looney Tunes. Yes, my parents made me watch Nova.
  11. For the first time in a very long time, I am COMPLETELY speechless.
  12. Right, but see you didn't conceive said person that was infused in your body. A woman's choice will be respected by the Supreme Court, and thank goodness it will. And if by "heavy duty fighting" you mean "uneducated reasoning", then I suppose you would need something as immature as that to get you through the day.
  13. I find anyone with a Storm Trooper air-humping and a 14 year old-esque signature like that hard to take seriously. In the end, pro-choice is always going to win because when presented to the supreme court, it is more constitutional. The government cannot tell you what to do with your body, which includes a baby you are carrying.
  14. Kinda thought it looked like he was whackin' it.
  15. It's always albums unless I'm hosting a party, in which case my music usually gets turned off. I was watching a Late Night talk show and Elton John was the guest, I can't remember the exact quote, but he said something along the lines that he didn't own a computer or an iPod or anything like that and that listening to an individual song was "like taking one brushstroke from the Mona Lisa." Since then I have never looked at listening to music the same way.
  16. She has to kill them all, remember? She either kills them or the smoke monster takes them.
  17. They've been in the studio writing for quite some time, but as most of us know, that album won't be around for another 2-3 years.
  18. Just another commercialized holiday that is meaningless to me.
  19. I wish I could send the dumb-[wagon] hardcore dancers from the metal shows to So You Think You Can Dance? so they don't clog up the pit with their moronic displays of angst.
  20. I'm seeing As I Lay Dying (Hate this band), Municipal Waste, Children of Bodom, God Forbid, and Lamb of God on April 30th at the Myth in St. Paul. Tiny [wagon] place, should be metal as hell.
  21. Yuck. Not looking forward to this band making any more music.
  22. ...And Harley Davidson riders get Harley Davidson tattoos along with Marine Corps members getting the USMC logo tattooed on them. If I like Alex Grey's artwork, it's probably because I found out about him through Tool. I don't see why you would even have to say something like that as if it were too "cliche".
  23. Yeah it's going to be VERY expensive and time consuming, but if it's done right, it'll be the best tattoo ever.
  24. I have two tattoos. "Your Anger Is A Gift" running from my stomach back towards my spine diagonally and a 7-pointed Star on my calf with "Forty Six & Two" written inside of it. I have an upper arm sleeve planned for this summer. The guy I know really likes Alex Grey, so it should be a good time getting it. Here's a picture of it. It's going to be a full wrap around and expensive as hell, but I'll be working for the County this summer and making pretty good money.
  25. I'm sorry, but from what you've been saying, you really don't know much about drumming. Any cymbal can break on you if it's not played correctly and depending on what genre you play. If you're going to play a lot of hard rock and metal, get ready to go through cymbals faster than you would if you played jazz or classic rock. If you take care of your equipment and don't bang on it or abuse it, it can last you years. My set is 20 years old, but it plays like new because I take care of it and keep it in good condition. And Monkeyboo2 has a good point. The less rebound you play on, the more work your wrist is going to do and the more strength and quickness you will develop. Try practicing double-stroke rolls on a pillow and your chops will shape up mighty quick. Air-drumming is stupid, and no real drummer does it, so I don't know what your point is.
