  1. I've been waiting for you to leave, and you keep coming back.
  2. Like I said, I am perfectly at peace with the music you like and the music you dislike. The problem is you consider yourself to be an authority. In short, you think if you don't like it, it's crap. As opposed to: Your close-mindedness is all the more frightening that you're accusing me of not accepting your opinion, when you're making your subjective opinion into an objective statement. I don't mind people saying they don't like a style of music. But saying it's bad and anyone who listens to it will need luck in life (what for anyway?) without arguing about the music itself is not an opinion. It's insulting and injurious. Like I pointed out earlier, musical taste can be even biologically determined. It has nothing to do with your level of intelligence.
  3. No music without singing? Well, there go all of Bach's fugues, jazz, most electronic music spanning from ambient to EDM and including IDM, movie soundtracks, post-rock, and a big chunk of metal and progressive rock... I don't mind what you listen to; but you pat yourself on the back for listening to deep music and searching for your music when there's nothing complicated about the lyrics, nothing different about the score, nothing underground about the band. Moreover, you put people down because they listen to music you don't like, despite the fact that you clearly know nothing about music history or composition (the fact that you think you could make trance, which is a genre I couldn't see myself listening to, ever, is a great example. Figuring out how a synthesizer works and how to mix a track isn't an innate skill); how can you judge whether music is good or not without this? You can't; you can't name a single reason why this band is good, based on their music and solely on that. That's why you resort to calling everything you don't like [cabbage]: your own, subjective taste has become a benchmark according to which you belittle what you dislike, and hail the bands you like, backed by anonymous music critics whose opinions are likely not much more valid than yours. It's like reading Lord of the Rings-type fantasy books and saying you have great taste in literature, and every book you don't like (including the classics, which are respected by people far more educated) is [cabbage]. You don't have outstanding taste. You're different from everyone else who just reads the books they're given in class, but you're only doing it to make yourself feel good about yourself, and your taste isn't "better"; it's just not the same thing; rotten apples and rotten oranges, if you will. I'm not upset you said Sympozion was [cabbage]. I know enough about music to know they're an extremely innovative band.
  4. You've been calling me out on my mainstream taste even though what I listen to is, for the most part, not mainstream, and I mean that in terms of popularity. I wouldn't be surprised if, even if you wanted to listen to them, you weren't able to find where to download these. I could go on. The fact that you pointed out Scorpions is considered (by whom? citation needed?) a great band once again shows that you're going by other people's opinions, as opposed to forming your own. You probably have no idea why Scorpions could be said to be a great band. Clearly, it's not because their music was complex, because as I showed earlier it's simple as can be. That doesn't mean Scorpions are bad. I just said you had nothing to be proud of. Also, calling Sympozion crap because you don't like it after a minute is just absurd, the track lasts three minutes and a half that form one cohesive block; you can't judge a whole song, let alone a whole album or artist based on a one minute sample... Do you play or write music at all?
  5. Haha Scorpions are considered to be one of the greatest bands ever you have no idea what you're talking about I would love to see your idea of a good song and no trance/rap bullcrap I hate to do some type of battle of tastes, but here goes... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXYOQbdk6dg Key changes, time signature changes, insane layering.
  6. Pfft, you have nothing to feel special about. This song is set in a very simple i - VI - VII chord progression, and reaches its pinnacle of complexity at the end of the riff with a harmonic minor, which remains within the most basic music theory. The lyrics are nothing special, it's a typical unrequited love story. The singer and the lead guitarist are technically good, but they don't do anything particularly special. This is hardly more complicated than a Katy Perry song (which I dislike, by the way). Sounds like you don't know much about how music works, and you decided to dislike music based on its popularity and associations as opposed to its intrinsic merit. [Edit] Haven't listened to the second song, I'll do it later.
  7. I'd like to see iamsomebody's top 25 songs...
  8. Thanks, but I think it's still nowhere close to meaning she'll be my girlfriend unfortunately. Work at it, it's easier than you think to make something out of it! :) If I learnt anything from this, it's to never "work" at it but rather let things come naturally.. well at least, this time I got a yes was the first time I wasn't "planning" anything. So it was worthwhile in the end. Just have fun, things will probably fall into place. It helps to think about what you're doing, but having fun is generally quite attractive, and it tends to rub off on people.
  9. Put the posters inside the washroom stalls, facing the seats. No one would have anything else to do but read them. Also, vivid colors everywhere.
  10. Church. Women appreciate deep voices more while men prefer higher singing registers. It's in their DNA.

PS will fade just perfect. I have a pair of straight leg jeans with a leg opening of about 8.5 inches and the fades are just fine. Besides, I'm not a big fan of extreme contrast or skinny jeans. I'm not sure if 31 in PS will fit you if you wear 30 in NC but my advice would be to keep the PS. [Edit] Plenty of Brown Canvas SlimGuys left at PLNDR's N&F sale, 56.99$, and selvedge SlimGuy chinos in size 29. If you're not a member, you need an invite code. Be aware I get some sort of discount thanks to your joining though, not that I have ever bought anything from PLNDR. Also, if you buy anything, check this out first.
  12. So what if one of your favorite artists becomes mainstream? Does somebody who listens to them after they became mainstream still have a bland taste in music? I didn't say mainstream music was bland. A lot of it is. It's more a matter of which of their release they listen to, whether the artist maintained his "integrity" before becoming mainstream, etc.
  13. A lot of mainstream music is fake, and more of a product than a piece of art. That doesn't mean it's bad; it still does what it's supposed to do. If that's what you listen to, you have very bland taste in my opinion, but you could do much worse.
  14. You'd think the more money you have, the more beer you consume, yeah? The answer is no. The amount of beer you consume steadily increases until you reach a 22k$/year income, and then it drops. Why? First of all, because you're most likely older and less likely to drink tons of beer in a short amount of time; second, because you're drinking more wine. In other words, just because something is twisting logic into a pretzel, doesn't mean it's untrue; you're just missing a piece of the puzzle. That piece is called Ark Music Factory.
  15. I would do this, but I know that I'm not awesome.... Actually, the original quote form HIMYM is "become awesome".
  16. I'm inclined to think that too, but I won't make a judgement.
  17. Oh cut that already. That's true in the imaginary world where everybody lives by proverbs and principles. But this is the real world, people rarely live by reason in these situations. And even in the imaginary world I wouldn't agree with you, that sounds just like the prideful guy who doesn't know how to change strategies and just keeps digging himself into a hole he can't get out of. No, you don't just ask out a girl like that, you're absolutely right; you did it the wrong way. Admittedly, when you walk up to a girl at a club, she's kind of expecting it, whereas your crush was like a deer in the headlights. You're also supposed to attract her before asking her out. But really, if you're expecting to get anywhere without ever making mistakes, you're not going to budge. Not a bit. If you want to keep on doing nothing, just stick to shying away from challenge. The whole idea is that you should be learning from your mistakes, and not in a "yup, sounds like girls are just not for me" way. When I met my first girlfriend, all I did was talk about nothing serious at all, and every time I've met a girl who showed IOIs, I just didn't let myself be intimidated. Being witty and cocky is a good start, but being witty while remaining polite is best, I think, although it's much harder to say something funny without making fun of someone. But that entails meeting people. Remember, you have good reasons to be proud of yourself. You've shown yourself to have more balls than all the people who are making fun of you (a number which you are most likely grossly overestimating, by the way). Good reasons to be embarrassed, too, I must admit, but you'll get over it. I see a big difference between shying away from challenge and thinking before acting. Tell me, what would you have done after you failed a bunch of tries? Would you have gone like "oh screw it im not afraid of rejection" and kept trying the same way, or would you have gone something more like "wait, there's a problem here, better start being more cautious"? I don't know what I would have done, but I know David DeAngelo did a bit of both. He got rejected a bunch of times when he first started out, but at the same time I assume every rejection was a chace of learning something new for him. And now he's a pickup artist. Anyway, why the heck have some of you guys told me to go and talk to her straight forward in the first place, if you knew it was wrong? I didn't. We're not one single person, each of us has different ideas, etc. Maybe those people thought you might actually succeed, and they simply made a mistake too. Giving advice over the 'net is a hard life bro. Talking about mistakes... well frankly I'm very tempted to put the blame on the girls rather than on myself at this point. I might be a little paranoid coming here for advice and all (then again internet ftw) but it seems to me their level of paranoia transcends reality as we know it. One girl once told me and some friends that a guy at school was after her, inviting her sometimes and telling her nice things. And the way she felt creeped out about it sounded so darn unnecessarily exaggerated. Basically, she complained about the guy, because the guy thought she was cool. Seriously... isn't it a compliment to be liked by someone, rather than a personal attack or something? I don't know if this is related to age, or if its related to cultures, or if all girls in the world just like to talk crap about people who like them. What do you think it is? Is it like this for you too? All human beings, including the one you asked out, are flawed. In fact, she might be a total [bleep]. On one hand, this kind of situation can be hard to handle for the girl. Your feelings are on the line, and clearly things can get ugly, so the reaction you described can make sense. On the other, this can be an excuse for talking [cabbage], which is slang for making yourself feel better about your insecurities. Maybe she's genuinely worried about you, but you're right in that she might just be a particularly dislikable girl seeking attention.

New Cures are too tight to have a selvedge. To get the skinny fit, they taper the fabric, and obviously the selvedge gets cut out. Petit Standard is APC's skinniest cut with a visible selvedge. [Edit] Just sent a payment and a Steven Alan hunter green BD collar shirt and this APC shirt jacket: Minor flaw on the jacket (undone stitch), got the bundle for 180$ shipped. Should have cost me somewhere between 500-600$ in retail pricing, and I was actually on the hunt for a... hunter green shirt :) Edit: Context is having a flash sale. 30-50% off, which is still expensive by most standards, but the less expensive brands (APC) come down to a solid price. http://www.contextclothing.com/sale.php

They're pre-soaked pretty much. If you do it again they won't shrink.
  21. Omar replied to Scorcheddd's topic in Off-Topic
Nope, they're sanforized. They'll be tight at first but they'll grow much bigger.
  22. I try to solve the problem, or just ride it out. Sometimes finding new music helps me out.
