  1. Then why have no other problematic medical practices arisen? If it's a slippery slope, you're saying circumcision isn't intrinsically bad, but it will excuse practices which have a much more significant effect, but it's been thousands of years and we've yet to see them. For example, you can't tattoo someone against their will.
  2. Feel free to get circumcised - I'm certainly stopping you. What I am supporting stopping is the human rights violation of nonconsensual medical practices. [1][2] If getting circumcised is such an essential and core aspect of your religious belief, surely there's no issue getting it done as of when you reach the age of consent and majority? If you consider severe discomfort, increased chances of complications, and pain to be non-issues, then that is correct. There are plenty of very important medical practices a new-born can't consent to. This one is arguably not important at all, but it literally doesn't have negative consequences. No harm, no foul. No circumcised baby will ever complain about it.
  3. It's not like contraception is terribly difficult to get a hold of nowadays. Sure (though arguably contraception isn't perfect), but there's no reason to outlaw a useless thing.
  4. Have to say my respect for you just dropped there. Ridiculous statement. Haircutting/nail clipping/hair dying is non permanent, so irrelevant to the purpose this discussion, nor are they medical procedures. Piercing and tattooing individuals without their consent is also considered illegal.[1][2] As a baby you are utterly unable to give the informed consent that say, a 10 or 13 year who desired piercings is able to give (not to mention that male circumcision is rather more permanent and the prohibition on less permanent modifications (e.g. tattoos) to those over the age of 18). Except piercings and tattoos are actually consequential, whereas circumcision doesn't seem to be.
  5. It will have a direct affect on my child's ability to go to heaven. With a dad like you, I think a little less skin here or there isn't going to change much...
  6. What? No. I agree with you. I'm circumcised myself.
  7. Comparing male circumcision to female circumcision is just as silly as comparing it to clipping your nails, only on the opposite side of the pain spectrum. Admittedly, it doesn't harm you, and we can't know for sure whether it makes sex really less enjoyable. A similar question: can a religious family which refuses body modifications stop their child from receiving treatment?

Oh, that was just because some people were starting to become interested in raw denim in the last few pages.

Consider quickly, by Saturday I can almost guarantee there will be none left.

http://www.jackthreads.com/sales/2695/products/24017 http://www.jackthreads.com/sales/2695/products/24012 These? You'll need an invitation, if you want to get them. http://www.jackthreads.com/invite/omarbenmegdoul ALSO, if you're thinking about buying a pair of raw jeans, this is your chance to get some really expensive ones for dirt cheap. Cut similar to 501s and preshrunk. 79.99 + shipping between 15-45$, depending on how close to Australia you are. They sold for 500$ retail when they were released, and 400$ when the company closed. http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=176675

My mom has a Herschel bag. I can't say it's bulletproof because she bought it in September, but it looks virtually new. On the other hand, she really takes care of her [cabbage].

Ok I'll go for the Chelseas. If the ones I posted above didn't have the buckle I'd probably buy them. Thanks! I don't like the elastic on Chelseas, but jodhpurs are sick. Check Frye boots for motorcycle boots. A bit hot for summer, though, no? I'm eying Arrow Mocassins, myself. http://search.rakuten.co.jp/search/mall/arrow+moccasin/110983/p.0-s.1-st.A-v.2?uwd=1 http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=97850 Pretty good looking price for something which lasts this long... I think I'll get the brown two eyelet ones with crepe soles.

    Anyone in Boston? http://topshelfflea.blogspot.com/2011/04/spring-2011-top-shelf-flea-details.html
  16. At the corner of "Top Artists" on your profile. You have to be logged in.
  17. I didn't mean "push" in the literal sense by the way. Whatever he's been doing, it's been working.
  18. Keep pushing. I'm assuming they've joked around, smiled to each other, etc. Those are indicators the girl isn't flipping her [cabbage]. If the girl starts smiling nervously, looking around as if for an escape route, etc, you know it's not working out. You should subscribe to David DeAngelo's newsletter, it'll shed some light on things. Or maybe make you accept that they will forever be dark.
  19. CTRL + F "paste" on your profile, it'll say paste your taste somewhere.
  20. Think of it like arm wrestling. Just because your opponent's pushing, doesn't mean you should curl up into a ball with your arms protecting your neck. Just push harder. Dodgy analogy...
  21. You should check out Thou, Dark Castle (both doom/sludge), toe (post-rock), Amiina (ambient I guess, like Sigur Ros but less hazy).
  22. Your musical compatibility with Rubenmegdoul is Very High Music you have in common includes Mastodon, Electric Wizard, Mouse On The Keys, Justice and The Mars Volta. wat I've been listening to more metal since then, maybe that's it. The compatibility rating is always so inaccurate. Paste yo' tastes. Wish I could scrobble using my Sansa Fuze, I listen to Thou a lot more than that.
  23. The combination of that signature and that advice is hilarious. Anyways, nothing to lose. Do it.
  24. Oh no, what will I do now?
  25. Get FL Studio.
