Post a picture of your face, it's important. You can use relaxer to straighten or to help straighten your hair (try to keep a little bit of waving though).
  2. As far as I'm concerned, I'm willing to live in modesty if it means I can make music as I wish...

I don't listen to live albums to feel like I'm in the crowd. In fact, I don't listen to live albums, unless the tracks on the album aren't the same as the ones they played live, which is why I would listen to ACTU. But the recording is so badly mixed, I don't like listening to it.
  4. It's better than nothing, dizzle, especially if someone backs you up when you tell them off.

@looshbob: Same boat. How much chest hair do you have? Only really do it if it's too hot out and you want to open your second shirt button, I would say. Fastortoise, I vote in favour of chopping the elastics.

Ex-skaterguy dropping your old style, right?

    Yeah.
  8. Well, the first thing you could do is sit next to him, if you can. If they try to annoy him, tell them to [bleep] off. How does that sound?

I feel the most logical thing to do would have been to record the show internally (directly from the output of their computers or whatever their last output was) and place crowd mics, then mix the two...

I think the recording on that album is [cabbage]...

I know it's a stupid thing to say but I was expecting you to look something like Vegeta... Shoes? Tim, I say go for it as long as it's not permanent. It's hard to look presentable if you have Buddha ears at 40 (even if they represent wisdom). Same goes for the tattoo. It's the type of thing you'll probably find distasteful in a decade. If you get a tattoo, get a meaningful one.

Get his other albums, for starters. Cross - Justice. It's a bit more unique, but still very accessible. Planisphère - Justice. Someone else will tell you what to get from Daft Punk. O.M.G. - Rusko
  13. I think he's talking about big labels. Pretty sure Justice made a very big amount in a very short time, either way (gotta check their DVD, they were checking out a house, and the guy asks for 8M and they're like "not interested but that's no big deal", but I wouldn't be surprised if they were just doing it for the laughs and had 20$ between the two of them).

NO! Seriously though, which song/album, Deadmau5 runs a pretty large gamut.

Yeah, I say go for whatever transformation you want as long as it's not permanent.
  16. That's because of the recording industry and the star-system. If it wasn't for those two, you'd hear a lot more good/diverse music on TV.
  17. OK, so either that was a troll or he's extremely unreasonable and we should get back to the debate at hand...
  18. If that was true then why would they need a side job? The logic problem is on your side... Indie artists make very little money if they're lucky, otherwise they often operate at a loss.
  19. Do you realize how much knowledge is required to make innovative music? When you consider the earnings of some other professions out there, it doesn't make sense to not pay artists.

I think gulls don't need us to dump fish for them to survive. They were there before we started doing it.
  21. That would cause a decrease in both quality and quantity of music put out. I don't know if you spend money to access your lab, but musicians have to invest in (or buy in the case of those who don't make any money) often expensive equipment to create, especially if they don't want to stick to one genre.
  22. It has nothing to do with affording it, I've only surveyed 30 people so far but of all of those who said they downloaded most of their music and thought music was too expensive, few said they'd buy music if it was cheaper. People believe they have a right to music.
  23. What about independent labels? Their artists tend to support downloading as it spreads their music, but at this rate no one will end up buying anything at all, right? @Scorched: Yeah, I was under the influence too.
  24. Admittedly, this should be in MM&T but it'll get more traffic here, not sure where to put it really. Can an artist whose music is largely downloaded illegally keep on relying on his creation as a livelihood? From what little I know, I would think their income is dependent on shows, but labels are attempting to make up the losses of piracy by leeching the gig profits (ticket prices have risen in ways which aren't consistent with inflation). I need to know this for a school project, but I'm also curious about this because I'd like to be able to make music without starving.

I've been taking advice from a monkey, apparently. There was something charming about a lion, but you killed it.
