  1. The words 'slow down' come to mind hehe. It does look nice, and in that case, we'd need to make sure that the normal site themes also work with this forum board style.
  2. Actually it would increase badwidth IMO. The number of times people read topics without posting on them is far greater than the amount of people who actually reply. Toucḫ̩̉̉. (Does this count as spam? *holds off* lol)
  3. *nods in the direction of the against argument* Simply because of the immaturity of the majority of the Runescape audience unofrtunately (note: not all).
  4. Years ago? A lot of things happen have happened since then so the situation is rather different I assume. *awaits Admin reply after they deliberate*
  5. Slightly off topic but following Ryan's link I found this interesting mod hehe... April Fools, lol.
  6. I find myself agreeing (sp?) with spling, however it could be open to abuse. Perhaps limit it to people with a minimum number in their post count or just to certain categories? Otherwise I could see this queue being overloaded by false reports (looks towards the PKer oriented boards) or just by people not knowing how to use the feature appropriately. Either way, I have seen this mod mplemented on another community (RV) but every community is unique and it'd have to be be on a probationary period for a while as I see it. Btw spling, nice 'TET FTW' part in ur avatar. Gratz on getting into the team :)
  7. I'd like to suggest that the Admins consider implementing a custom made board style - in the Tip.It fashion! Perhpas something relating to the site design to maintain consistency? At the moment, if you go to your profile and scroll down, you will see a drop down menu of board styles: - Chronicles - Invision Blue - xmen - subSilver and 7 other clones If this is something that can not be done 'in-house' than perhaps the community can be involved? Perhaps a competition format or just opening up to submissions and ideas initially? I'm sure there are many talented people around. And while we're talking about board styles, is there a mod that could make a drop down menu on the Forum Index perhaps in a top corner or a bottom corner so users can switch between the styles at will? Not only will this inform users of their availability, but also increase awareness of their existence so more users can take advantage of this service being available.
  8. This week's version of the Tip.It times has been released. Feel free to have a read and post your comments or have a discussion on this topic.
  9. Nice clean and relatively simple design. And you can make it validate for xhtml, just two errors - go for it ^-^. About what the others said, yea I'd go for some RuneScapey feel, but wouldn't know where to start. As for the navigation, I see you used css to style the list elements but had to cut it short because of IE bugs. I had the same problem with a site I'm designing (and might post when its done) and just used a table instead. I put eaach list element into its own tag and problem solved. Not pure css design I know, but I prefer functionality. Good luck with the site :D
  10. It's called being innovative. I look forward to seeing this progress :)
  11. The limits for these forums are 300x150x30kb. Here ya go :)
  12. this is what im talking about. everybody does have the chance to try the quest the proper way! NOBODY is forcing you to use the quest guide, if you dont like them, dont use them. sorted. Well said - agreed :)
  13. Not at all. With respect to the old policy about quest guides, they would never be released within the first two or three days. This was at Jagex's request bak in the day. However that changed long ago, and we've been releasing our guides as soon as they're ready for over 6 months if not more. Just so everyone knows, the Editor's comments are not representative of any of the Tip.It staff or an official Tip.It view. He/She just writes the weekly stuff based on his/her opinions and instigates some pretty interesting discussion :)
  14. The Tip.It Times article quoted below has recently been posted to the main Tip.It website. Please take a few moments to read the article. Feel free to discuss it or post your opinions.
  15. ^-^ Like I said earlier, a great peice of fiction that was a joy to read. The Tip.It Times will have a variety of genres and pieces to appeal to different people - so get with it :P
  16. This should help: http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=enable_js.htm
  17. Different, yet very interesting :) I know who the chompy huntiing Admin is :P Well written and couldn't stop reading from start to finish. Kudos on a great piece of fiction.
  18. After WWII, the Jews and other persecuted peoples weren't asked to reconcile with the Nazis. Unfortuantely, we have to do so with the murderous Ba'athists who along with the "insurgents" are infiltrating many institutions and organisations that are the basis of society.

  20. Yea there a few Muslims around here, me being one :) Not too many others though. In reply to your curiosities: - Monotheisim is one of the five pillars of our faith which affirms that there is one God who has absolute power and created everything. HE is the original cause at the start of the cause-effect chain but HE is the exception to having no cause, otherwise the chain would be endless. So we only worship HIM directly :) There are many figures whou would be regarding as saintly, and indeed the prophets and others are regarding as infallible - e.g. no mistakes - but they are not worshipped as they are human like everyone else, and ultimately, created by Allah HIMSELF. - As for Jesus (peace be upon him), we recognise him as one of the prophets of Allah, of which there were 124,000 with Muhammad (p.b.u.h) being the very last. However, there are 5 prophets in particular who are given special status because they came with holy books of whom Jesus is one. And because of the earlier mentioned belief in montheism which is an important foundation of everything - he can have no children or dependants etc so Jesus is not the son of God, although his birth is a miracle of God. - As for Prophet Muhammad (pb.u.h), as I said above, he is the final prophet who came with the message of God to the people. However, he is succeeded by 'Imams' (not in the usual understanding) who are divinely chosen just as the prophets were - so there is always a divine representative of God on the Earth until the world ends. A good source for further research is http://www.al-islam.org :)
  21. Hehe sure not a problem, scripts like that aren't really copyrighted. Perhaps you should improve your skills of rumaging through the View Source page? hehe. Heres the Javascript part. Heres the html part, Hide - Show You will have to surround the part you want to hide and show like this: ... Also, moved to Tech board :)
  22. Warne just got out by trodding on his own stumps  One wickets to go and England equalise the series
  23. http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=barrows_guide.htm Any suggestions or corrections or ideas you have for this guide, post here please!
  24. I will be interested to see the CSS cmpatibility of IE7 compared to FF and Opera, namely if they'll have up to CSS 2.0 and perhaps 3.0 if theres a miracle. One things for sure, a lot of web designers and coders are going to have to update their code that had workarounds for the numerous bugs of IE6. Should be interesting. :)
