Numbers don't exist outside of our minds, they are irrelevant whether one value equals another according to our invented system or not. You can prove consistencies between objects to an extremely restricting limit taking into account how tiny the earth is and old the universe is, but that's about it.

You're 20 and your parents decide your hair colour? :s I haven't slept in a good 30 something hours, I just got into the country and I'm already having to work out how to distribute my time amongst friends I haven't seen in 6 weeks. I'm also trying to decide whether to get a $29 x10 with optus or virgin.. Optus only has $180 of credit verses $450, but it has free facebook and I'm not sure if I'll go over the $180 or not.

^^ Let's call it faith instead of belief when talking in a religious sense, as they have different meanings. Atheists deny the existence of a deity. If one were to show itself, anyone would believe in it. That's not what faith is. You're comparing apples to oranges.

Ignore the outdated morals rules and laws. They made sense (for the most part) at the time. Religion is philosophy amongst other things. Was there actually a man who ate from the tree of knowledge which caused the human race to become imperfect? Of course not. Only fundamentalists believe this. We know a perfect universe is physically impossible when we use radios to 'listen' to the beginning of the universe. What about technology creating weapons that allow us to destroy ourselves? What about advanced medicine being a major contributor to overpopulation and thus reduced standards of living? Since evolution is so slow, our bodies are the same as our tribal ancestors, yet we live in a much different environment. You could say we aren't designed to live with 'knowledge.'

I think of christianity as an outdated part philosophy part superstition, that a select few have been using as a tool for their own means for thousands of years. Many of these stories in the bible itself have outdated morals laws and science along with contradictions. The fact that the stories were hand picked from a larger group (by a committee) were the result of a thousand year old game of chinese whispers just makes it even more unreliable and flawed. Religion itself doesn't bother me, but I have a low opinion of fundamentalists, and a lower opinion of those who use religion to take advantage of others.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
I'm jet lagged and cbf reading the novel I missed, but when it comes to getting physical with a new girl, 'getting it out of your system' doesn't work. The rush of the first time gets addictive.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
As long as you're honest about your intentions there is nothing wrong with dating multiple girls as far as I can see. I have no idea how to offer advice seeing as you seem to have contradicted yourself in the story a couple times. Just remember that the person who cares the least in the relationship has the power, but that won't equate to happiness in the long run.

gftog. The fastest way to get over a girl is to talk to other girls. You? Love? Elaborate. Well it was a toss between that and 'falling in infatuation.' At first I thought it might the former because it's been 6 months but it's probably the later. I haven't seen her in over a month and I've thought of her every day, which isn't like me at all :/

Yeah it's my 4th time over here, not including the few trips back and forth when I was 0-2 years old. It's been good but the novelty has worn off. I went to yosemite, san fransisco and the crazy lady's mystery house thing at san jose this year amongst other places, and I'm going to six flags in a couple days.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Jesus. Pull yourself together man. You're still young, why are you worrying? There will be many more relationships after this one - enjoy it. If you're not enjoying it, end it. Fight for the relationship, but it's not a marriage. It's just a little extra hair pimples and hormones bro don't worry about it. Don't tell her. It removes all the challenge, romance and mystery out of the equation. Escalate touch and flirt. If she responds positively then make a move. Never 'spill your feelings.' I didn't learn my lesson the first few times and did it even after having sex with a girl for months (after being close friends for years) and still got a 'whaaaaat? relationship?' Steer the relationship with your actions and don't show more cards than she is. Also I think I'm falling in love.

Jesus I've been out of the country for a month and qld is in the [cabbage]ter. 50 people still missing, body count at 15, damage estimated at 20 billion, 3/4 of the state a "disaster area" coro drive looking like it might fall into the brisbane river... Wow. I do wish I was there to see it though.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
It's hard to avoid that, being that young and naive. Not that I'm different. I bet every 5 years we think back about how little we knew. Until we stop learning, get comfortable with what we know and dig our heels into sticking to our outdated ideas. That would be why parents get so frustrated when you don't listen.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
To an extent. I hate the idea of being monogamous with someone straight away, or just for the sake of staying with them. I'm sticking to 1 currently only because there is nobody else I want to be with. For a guy not in love this holds a lot more weight than I think it would for a girl. There are plenty of others I could be with. Hell, I could have a 3some tomorrow if I wanted. Something most guys can only dream about. If I were even slightly interested, I would probably leave her because this way it seems so much more real. I'm fairly new to the whole relationship thing so I might change my philosophy later, but this is what I believe now.

This. I wish I had someone like me to give advice when I was younger. Assuming I listened, it would have made things to much easier.
