  1. I have. If I recall he started posting around the time I gave up arguing with the "using 'tricks' like 'improving yourself so you aren't being needy and boring' might get you laid but won't get you a relationship with a quality woman" crowd. How is everyone here?
  2. I am alive. I mean I'm in a donga on curtis island so I'm not in heaven.
  3. This thread randomly popped into my head. I should share this: http://mobile.news.com.au/lifestyle/real-life/meet-robert-townley-the-one-guy-who-isnt-using-tinder-for-sex/story-fnixwvgh-1226993873447 I shamelessly stole the idea a while back. I have a new girlfriend now but at the time it was like shooting fish in a barrel.
  4. Oh I always advocated inner game, (I still think inner game is solidified by minor success from outer game and you do need both. ) I just wanted to explain that the DVD set I mentioned is more applicable to life in general, but the context is women and it is still appropriate for the thread.
  5. I'd be careful here, and make sure that if you do get involved with her that you aren't underestimating not only what you are taking on yourself, but the effects on the relationship and the consequences for the kid if you end up breaking up after a year+ It's a pretty serious thing. I was procrastinating catching up on some paperwork and for some reason decided to log in and see if anything exciting was going on here. Coincidentally my name was being mentioned at the same time. As for why I've stopped posting, it's a combination of me deciding that giving out this kind of advice all the time was detrimental to myself, and just plain 'ol being busy with life. That said, for anyone willing to invest 20 hours into their life and happiness - check out the blueprint decoded. Take notes - it will seriously blow your mind. I was pretty sceptical at first but it ended up being everything I was trying to wrap my head around but couldn't model it on my own, and a lot more. It's more related to general life philosophies than dating which is what I'm into at the moment, but his theory is that if you get your shit sorted then an abundance of women is practically an afterthought. Also, the way of the superior man which is a quick read but well worth it- especially if you are in a relationship.
  6. [bleep] situps/crunches. Isolating muscles isn't a great idea unless you know what you're doing. For example, for every crunch you do, you really should do a back extention because otherwise you get unbalanced muscles which cause some nasty problems. The best ab exercise is barbell squats/deadlifts. You won't ever deadlift 2x your bodyweight with a weak core, and you won't get issues with unbalanced muscles. As mentioned, if you're just after a 6 pack then you do that by simply reducing body fat %.
  7. I just stop by every now and then to see what everyone is up to - I stopped frequenting a while back after this place started to slow down. Even with more relaxed moderation and almost no limits here there doesn't seem to be much going on anymore :(
  8. 2 quick thoughts on online dating mugg, make your profile picture attention grabbing. Even better than an ab shot could be a picture of you wearing some kind of novelty hat or an eye patch. Most guys have boring display pictures - something redically different will make her curious. It doesn't need to trigger attraction or anything, just get her curious enough to click your profile. Also, if you send out mass messges then you instantly convey yourself to be like every other guy who does the same. I imagine generic mass messages are pretty common and easy to identify. Personalise them, even if you use a basic template and then comment on how you think her figure skating hobby is cool or whatever.

Nice, Queenstown nightlife is so good during ski season....if you're single haha. Which mountain/s are you hitting up? Yeah I heard it's pretty good. So many people from other countries etc. I have an all mountain pass thingo so I can hit up coronet peak, the remarkables, and I have a 1 day pass at treble. I'm going at the beginning of July though, because my girlfriend's uni holidays are then. I'm really hoping we get some snow this early in the season, but I'll probably have to be a coro most of the time because they have snow machines. Next trip will be Japan for sure. Heard heaps of good things about it, and getting around the language barrier will be like an adventure.
  10. Check out http://www.reddit.com/r/seduction/ http://www.reddit.com/r/malefashionadvice/ Many stickies with good advice, and seddit focuses on inner game much more than canned lines.

I dunno if many people remember me since I've made like 5 posts in the last 6 months, but I randomly decided to check in. My job is going awesome, (plus I'm getting close to a house deposit) and I'm looking at starting electrical engineering part time to complement it. I don't know if I'll ever want to actually work as an engineer cooped up in an office but I'd like the option and the content interest me. I'm really getting into MMA/BJJ after taking a break from powerlifting because I hurt my knee. I basically get thrashed every class but It's good fun, I'm learning heaps and I needed something to replace lifting. Still with the missus, It's been a year and a half already. Also headed to Queenstown, NZ in a few weeks to snowboard which I'm looking forward to. How's everyone else?
  12. Baad idea. Smith machines force your squat form into an unnatural position, and it's straight up and down whereas squats are more of an arc. A squat in a smith machine would be more likely to make your form worse and give your muscles bad habits and uneven gains even with low enough weights that you don't hurt yourself. If squat form is beyond just taking a video of it and getting it critiqued, then third world squat stretching is good.
  13. This. Rather than be focused on her, remember that you can't expect someone to love you if you don't love yourself. Use your time. Enjoy it.
  14. Keto seems good, I don't know too much about it but I gather the idea is to eat lots of fat, to condition your body to use fat as energy. I would do research before sticking to the paleo diet. The idea that we are built to eat food from a tiny era of our history isn't a well thought out one. For the majority of the time we have been plant eaters, and the benefits of grains have been proven over and over. Like you I'm not big on planning my meals, which is why intermittent fasting suits me really well. Food tastes better, I can eat at a deficit of calories and I don't feel as hungry as I would grazing all day, and I spend less time preparing food and planning meals. It's not for everyone but the results are out there. http://www.leangains.com/ http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3286673 Chicken breast is really healthy and versatile. (and it's a good reason to buy nandos sauce) Frozen vegies are cheap and easy. Protein shakes are also healthy and easy - I blend whey with milk, a banana and a bit of 100% peanuts peanut butter. Fruit, spag bol and eggs and brown rice are all good too. An easy dinner for me might be: Chop a chicken breast in cubes, throw in pan with oil. Add a diced onion, ginger and garlic after a couple mins until chicken is brown and onion is going clear. Dump in soy sauce and frozen vegies, cover and cook for a bit longer while you clean up. I stick with the basics like that. Cheap, tasty, healthy and quick to prepare.

Even though I have told myself so many times that I would rather get hit in the chest with projectile diarrhea than work on a modern car again, I spent today replacing my dad's clutch in the rain.
  16. Probably better off saving your money and getting your calories from full cream milk, or just eating more. Figure out your base metabolic rate and what you burn during exercise, what you're currently consuming and then go from there.

Just got back from a 21st in a penthouse on the beach. Got some deal at a club entry+ $10 for all you can drink. Haven't been that messy in a while.
  18. I've also seen plenty of progress pictures and they looked fine to me. They looked well proportioned, and not like most douches I see in my gym constantly doing hypertrophy on their beach muscles with skinny legs. There may be some that look t-rex but they may have been not adding weighted chin ups alternated with pull ups which is what most people do, they may be slacking in some lifts, or it can just be genetics. In 2 workouts of SS with weights chin/pulls he will have roughly done: Legs: 3 (squatx2, dead) Back: 5 (squat, dead, pull, powerclean, press) Arms: 5 (chin, pull, press, bench, powerclean partially) Chest: 3 (bench, chin, press) Looks pretty well rounded to me, do you really disagree? As you said, starting strength is not called starting aesthetics for a reason. It's a beginners routine for strength gains with some size gains too. Most routines you will see are made for more advanced lifters. (which he doesn't seem to be.) Generally, splits and pyramid routines are a waste on beginners because they are specially designed for people who have trouble making gains. As a beginner, he has the potential to make massive gains in a short time but he needs a beginners routine to take advantage of that. I have no research articles to dig up and link to, just my word. If he does his own research he will find what I'm saying is true, since I know I've done mine. Also, bolded for truth.
  19. T-rex? Are you saying that because the routine is built around squats? Lots of leg work (the biggest muscles) releases hormones to help development in the rest of your body. You are absolutely not going to end up with huge legs and tiny arms with starting strength unless you completely neglect your upper body and eat like a horse. Please don't make posts like that, we have enough bro science on the internet as it is. Since you're in here asking newbie questions like this I assume you just heard that from someone who had no idea what they were talking about.
  20. I took a break from powerlifting because of an issue with tight hips causing knee pain when I squat heavy. I started focusing more on BJJ and I'm really getting into it. I do it twice a week now and will probably try to make time for conditioning training or muai thai to complement it. Essential. If you just rock up at the gym and do whatever looks good you will get nowhere. Stick to a basic compound lift routine such as starting strength, start with low weights and increase by 2.5kg each session and write everything you do down.
  21. Don't chase her like a puppy. If she doesn't come to you then she probably isn't interested. Think of it as escalating naturally. Physically, emotionally and location/logistics. If you stop escalating then the window of opportunity closes. If you do and she doesn't go for it, it doesn't necessarily mean it's all over. It may, but she will at least respect you for having the balls to do it. It's been covered heaps of times here on how to do it. My favourite is still inviting her to something that you are doing anyway, can take multiple paths, and is low pressure - a party, or helping you shop for a present at a mall for example.

Work is so boring yesterday and today. We finished wiring a substation and have nothing to do until they get us another one. Been walking around this huge workshop trying to look busy by sweeping or playing with my phone. I'm considering taking up smoking so I have something to do. 4 hours to go...
  23. Speaking of biology, I'm reading an excellent book called the selfish gene by dawkins (famous on the internet for the god delusion) that I can recommend to anyone interested in attraction science. It's philosophy, evolution, biology and reproduction all tied together. It starts talking about evolution from molecules, and how they started building "survival machines" because molecules which mutated into something that lasts longer, replicated faster or more accurately ended up dominating. Eg molecules which broke down others for materials to help replicate. It then goes on to show genes are the modern molecules, and bodies are the best current method of survival for them. We then are influenced by our biology to replicate in a certain way in order for these genes to have the best chance of survival.
  24. Being clingy isn't the same as showing affection though. Affection is good, but too much can be suffocating. Neediness is straight up a women repellent.
