  1. Don't do Martingale's. Just don't. <_< I know a lot of people think it wins often, but it's 127m gamble for a 500k profit. Someone tried to pull a Martingale's on me starting from 250k, and I cleaned him about 10m's worth. Think of it this way - there's a high chance you'll make the original stake in profit, but there's a small (but realistic) chance that you'll lose MAJOR big bucks. If you want to do the dice game, host it. Don't play it. I'm up 23m from hosting (gave about 4m+ in return for people I cleaned). And nope, there's no way to enforce it. However, there are some people you can trust - Awq is trustworthy (guaranteed up to 50m stakes, but I trust that he pays everything). You can find out by hanging in the area - there are some regulars there who everyone trusts.
  2. High leveled P2P armor tends to help. Wearable rares if you have any. High combat level as well. However, the OP has already earned a reputation in W2 for paying out, and his CC has 20+ people. If you have a lot of people in your CC that aren't your friends, and people who you don't know advertising you, people tend to believe you more. On another note, I actually tried this myself. I ended going up about ~10m (100m starting cash). It works well if you don't lose the big ones obviously, but I lost a lot of the highest bets. This actually has potential for some of the best consistent cash in RS. It also has potential for some of the biggest losses if you get only 1 high bet and lose it. Might want to watch out for scammers - several people put up the money and decline it on the second screen, and expect you to roll and payout if they win.
  3. I think RuneScape's gameplay is better now than back then. However, it feels like the player base changed a lot. After going through the non-FT part, most players started changing into pro-efficiency freaks (which is perfectly fine mind you). The game gets a lot less fun for some people (including me) if you're always worrying about efficiency though. I think I am/have been heading in that direction as well, making me believe the game is getting less enjoyable. 2006 seems better to me just because I wasn't as worried about the high level and such back then. On an unusual (and off-topic) note, I actually enjoyed the part where there was no FT. I actually voted to bring FT back. But now, money has little or no meaning, with Staking, top-tier item Merchanting, and [arguably] Gambling games making (or losing) several billions in less than a week. Non-FT meant the fastest money was gotten from MH or GE Merchanting for the most part. I enjoyed RS when I didn't have to gamble to be reasonably rich and able to afford top tier gear, and having gambling making the best money in the game is a terrible idea because in the end, most players tend to go down for one to go up. My favorite thing about 2006 was the simplicity though. Of course you could go back to RSC, but if you started in RS2, you'd agree RSC was more complex and tedious with things like 3 rounds of combat, failing at practically all skilling tasks, etc. Nowadays, I don't think you can find a calculator to calculate your max hit. That's how complex things are. :wall: In a nutshell/tl;dr: Non-FT > RS2 > Current > RSC
  4. I'm afraid this might have gotten ignored being at the bottom of the last page I'd personally say no. Spectrals and Arcanes seem to be selling around the GE price. I'm not sure about Elysians though. But the big kahuna of spirit shields, the Divine, is going for around 1b-1.1b. GE price for the Divine Spirit Shield is 777.1m. Another thing you might wanna note is right after free trade came out, Jagex untied items that were tied in price with each other - Sigils were untied from Spirit Shields and Hilts were untied from Godswords. That means if the final products goes up, the parts that make it up don't necessarily go up. Since all of the spirit shields went on an upwards trend since FT came out, all of the sigils are actually undervalued in GE compared to the Spirit Shields. So it'll be a while until it's worth CS'ing (assuming SOMEONE trades sigils so the price can be fixed.) Until Divine Sigil hits 1b, I wouldn't CS Corp. Honestly, when (and if) Jagex fixes Nex, I think killing Nex would be much better money. Just consider most pieces go for 1.5b+, with the Torva Platebody, Torva Legs, and Pernix Top sometimes hitting as high as 7b each (exception being the Zaryte bow going for around a measly 500m).
  5. I'm considering buying 99 Prayer. I'm currently 95. Currently, it'll cost about 105m for me to go from 95 to 99. I intend on using Dragon Bones unless Ourg/Dagannoth/Frost bones end up pulling really close in gp/xp. I know no one here is psychic, but where do you think the prices of the bone market will be heading? I was hoping the Green Dragon bots would end up driving Dragon Bone prices back down (not condoning botting, but the fact is I can't really tell where my bones are coming from, and if they're cheap I won't complain), but that didn't end up happening. :ohnoes: Thanks! [hide] Please don't say anything along the lines of buying Overloads or training DG for a Rapier. These are actually on my goals in the near future, but that is not the point of this thread. If the market situation gets really bad, I do fully intend on investing in Herblore. [/hide]
  6. I'd guess F2P fishing bots, but I could be mistaken. By the same token, Lobsters are taking a huge dip. :ohnoes:
  7. I heard it means 2x charm and gem drops. Might need someone to confirm it though.
  8. Any other suggestions? I'm considering Third-Age, but not so sure. Apparently Santas/Masks aren't pure junk. They're (Santas & Greens) going for about 30m-45m plus junk. Don't know about the rest. As far as lending goes, been doing that. :-P I'm not sure it'll help, b/c 34.6m junk (yep it dropped 400k) can't be lended out that fast. Would it also be worth buying 2 Santas if I couldn't get one for junk plus cash?
  9. So I was eating Mackerel, the food I usually use to heal at my bank, when I check the GE Database. It seems that I have 35m in Mackerel, which is crashing hard, and I never knew this. I bought 129k Mackerel when it was only 5gp/6hp, the cheapest food on the market at the time. Seeing as it's worth a crapload of junk atm, I'd like to get rid of it for something better. Is there anything worth ~100% junk atm that has some monetary value? Or are lower rares crashing so hard that I could buy one for this and cash? (Wouldn't mind a Santa Hat for 20m... =P~ Just like the good ole days.)
  10. I wish. You have to wait the whole thing out, even if it's you against no one. Of course, keep in mind there's a small chance that someone may join the opposite team, meaning you actually would need to play to beat them. To the OP: You also might want to check if the "loser" can quit and join your team. I don't know too much about CW mechanics (I play for fun and don't really pay too much attention to this kinda stuff), and I haven't played hardcore CW for a while, but I know there are a lot of times when the spread of players between teams is far from even. There might be a small chance that you could go from a 1v1 to a 2v0 if you're lucky, meaning you both get 2 tickets.
  11. 2 people is all you need. There are occasions when you can't get the second person into the opposite portal (I'm not sure how to avoid that - sorry), but I've played and seen numerous 1v1's played at Castle Wars. Also, the person on the losing side can quit right after the game starts (if it helps).
  12. Pretty happy. Plus free strange rock. (FYI, potted from 86 to 91 with stews, which you can find right under me.) Good thing I saved a lot of spices in my bank from a long time ago. Two more tasks until I complete Karamja, both of which I have the requirements for.
  13. Thieving I heard that punching Monkey Knife Fighters is better XP than blackjacking Menaphites? Is this true/are there any solid rates out there of XP/hr? Can you obtain strange rocks from thieving Monkey Knife Fighters? Dungeoneering What's the best ammo to bind? I currently have 125 Prom Arrows bound, but someone told me Surgebox is better. What complexity do you use when rushing? Also, what floors should I be rushing at 61 Dungeoneering (which is up to floor 31)? Thanks in advance. :D
  14. Not yet. :-| It should update soon... maybe in two hours (based on the longest GE update time). I'm not sure if this is of any help, but I'm pretty sure KBase says the latter (it goes back to 990/990 instantly). Not sure about if you brew though.
  15. You could ignore cannoners and just kill dagannoths in worlds with cannons - it doesn't really hurt your xp rate that much - or you could go to Chaos Tunnels and kill them there.
  16. I don't like this idea - personally I'm totally fine with the risk, but I'd rather have my stuff instantly disappear than have the chance for a random jerk to get all my stuff. Brings back the thoughts of DK luring, and possibly just waiting outside of Nex's/Bandos' lair to loot stuff. That being said - not to be a hypocrite - I'd consider scouting non-LS worlds outside of Graardor's lair to loot soloers graves. When looting graves could be more profitable than killing the actual boss, my morals give in for greed.
  17. I don't get how people came to the conclusion that 67 nature runes, 100 silver ore, and other such drops are counted on the "rare drops wheel". Just curious... They are drops common to many monsters, but rarely received. They're like dragon half shields and dragon spears. No unspam.
  18. The only reason this limit is in place is become Java systems (No matter what kind) Can't support any number over 2,481,000 or something like that. That's why xp limits go up to 2billion, and if you get over 2billion of an item, it takes a second inventory space. No, that is not true. The reason you cannot have more than 2,147,483,647 items, is because that is the maximum value of an int in Java. In Java, there are primitive data types such as: bytes (127), shorts (32,767), ints (2,147,483,64), longs (9,223,372,036,854,775,807), doubles (1.79769313486231570x10308d), and more. The reason ints are used, is because ints are the easiest value to calculate in the average CPU. To use a larger primitive data type would take more space, therefor slowing the game or costing more money on servers. P.S. Java is a programming language, not a system, there is only one kind of Java language. Ok, no need to get so mad. I accidently put 2m instead of 2b, and I only said that because of what I've heard. I'm not a computer geek, so don't vent all your anger on me. I was just going off of what I have heard and read. Oh... If I understood correctly, trades were unlimited before GE was out - there was no way to quantify how much value a trade had because there was no central value system. It was possible to trade up to... say 100 partyhats in one trade. But after free trade was removed, there was this 2B limit added based on GE prices - I assume this is because the counter that calculates the difference between trades can't hold a number above the limit (2^31-1): they rounded it off to 2B to make it simpler. I'm not talking about the number of any single item, I'm talking about the value of the trade in total.
  19. Will the updates made solely to fight RWT (e.g. Pure Ess/Rune Ess) be overturned? Will trades be able to hold unlimited value (as opposed to the imposed 2 billion limit)? Will the ability to sell obsidian items to Tzhaar shops be readded?
  20. To make money, you're best off taking your cash and flipping in GE (even if the market's still unstable). As far as your dream armor, I hate to be mean, but it's not happening. The only way to get all that is through drops (just because right now, I'm assuming you can't afford it, and everything you want has street). And if you were to get even ONE part, your LSP would be wrecked for at least a couple of weeks. DKs isn't that great money (or at least in my opinion), but it's great fun. It shouldn't be used as a primary moneymaker. Likewise, Corp isn't consistent enough. And should you get a sigil, you'll probably either be unable to sell it, or you won't want to sell it (Elysian vs. Divine, Arcane and Spectral are currently so cheap that their value is negligible compared to other shields). So it'll probably not be a money maker, but more a medium to obtain a divine. Nex can provide a great way for you to obtain your armor pieces, but that's only if you're the type of person who has their own drive and desire to find the most efficient way to kill monsters - Nex is just too slow and costly right now to be worth it. A random suggestion - if you're actually looking to make money, try TD's. They've been a consistent money maker since they came out and still are. TLDR: Don't bother with DKs. You can try Nex and Corp on the side for drops, but TD when your LSP is far negative.
  21. If I add parts to my POH, and I decide I want to move the study, will I be able to get the replica pieces back, or will I have to do ALL the work all over? :???:
  22. Mad happy. :D Third cape, but I've died before even after getting two capes. Still get OD heart palpitations at Jad. Finally got a cape for the rack though!
  23. It looks like your Dungeoneering level was reset as well. :|
  24. SSH at level 46 Dungeoneering. :D Pretty damn happy. Now gonna penguin to 50 so I can bind a new weapon asap.
  25. I'm going to say no. Jagex made it illegal a little before free trade was removed. Also I think most trades are going to take place through GE - maybe World 2 Varrock if you're lucky. Chances that World 2 Fally coming back to life is almost zero, and so are the lurers like Jojo who lurked there in low level lure accounts. Either way, most merchants these days are maxed combat (or so my impression is) and pushing multibillions in terms of net worth, so I don't think one Party Hat lure to them will really ruin them.
