Tip.It Times: October 10
I firmly believe that quests should be simultaneously the most accessible and exclusive content in Runescape. A brand new player has access to a huge number of quests right from the get-go, and it only makes sense that stories should eventually crossover (you're an adventurer involved in numerous affairs, after all) and become intertwined. As stated by others in this thread, the minigames required to start Nomad's Requiem and the Pest Control quests had direct relevance, so it made plenty of sense. I assume that we'll someday have a quest that explains the penance monsters in BA, too. As an aside, it's funny how Times threads are the most volatile threads on TIF. I do feel that Stormveritas's article is far below the standard that I would normally expect from him, but frankly, I don't really feel like getting overly involved in this debate. For the most part, I enjoy his other articles, which is way more than I can say for some of the other writers . . .

Not really. For some reason I enjoy slinging things, however sad that may be. :P I blame it on the animation and the unlimited ammo. I did the same thing. It was pretty fun for the ten minutes I was on.

Are 99's really worth it...
HAHAHA oh WOW! As I said earlier in this thread, there are VERY few items in the game that look noobier than an untrimmed cooking/fletching/wc cape on a level 90. That's not the way to get respect, kids. Work on something that will benefit you and the 99s will come. ok then dady, cmon are you serious Yes.

Tip on finding Dung groups!
If this ever got big, it'd be really good for the Average Joe. It'd be like being able to access world 117 Daemonheim from anywhere in Runescape.

LOL you should've seen me today for my job interview at Disneyland. Grey pinstriped button up shirt, dark red sweater vest, boot cut jeans, and square toed leather loafers. Sitting on that bench with my legs crossed, I must've looked pretty rainbow-ish. tbh, I do have some gay mannerisms.

The Wilderness
The people who find revs easy don't even use protection prayers. Tis true. I use soul split. I used smite when I used to go rev hunting often as a 120something.

Kale's sling is two-handed and fast. I think shortbow speed, but I wasn't paying that much attention. I can one-hit level 2 men with it, L.

Efficiency
Hopping world takes like 40 secs, so why waste time trying to crash someone? Usually it's easy to find an empty world while slaying, dunno about bosshunting. Because this thread is about efficiency.. He's asking if it's more efficient to kill half, and let the other person kill the rest in terms of slayer and what not. I don't know the mechanics, but in some situations you'll get a half of the normal slayer xp per monster. So it's not efficient to halfkill monsters. I'd say neither crashing nor halfkilling is efficient when it comes to slayer. It depends. I can crash someone of my level in a multicombat area if they're not using turmoil, extremes, and a combat familiar (I use all three). It'd be pretty easy to both out-hit and out-kill someone like that. However, I always hop for slayers who are actually trying to be fast, because they'll be able to steal some of my experience if I don't.

[hide] Where is it said that it's supposed to be a combat skill? Some of the familiars I use most are non-combat. Maybe it's just me, but I've found that Summoning has given me 12 combat levels since I started gathering charms. Then it's a shame that a skill with such potential to help both combat and non-combat is being pigeonholed into being combat oriented. As if enough gameplay doesn't revolve around combat already. What is the point of this update then if summoning is a "combat only" skill? After all, we don't get combat levels from slayer, even though it is clearly a combat skill. Just because we do get combat levels from summoning shouldn't make it a combat oriented skill. Are you kidding me? I'd feel sorry for people fighting me if they didn't know I was packing a steel titan. Summoning isn't an entirely combat-based skill, but it affects combat so drastically that it HAS to raise your combat level. Slayer, on the other hand, does not affect your combat ability outside of being able to kill more stuff than most people. The point is that this update was anticipated to help skillers gain charms through non-combat. Their moving aggressive monsters out of the area seems to point to that anyways. It is a shame then that summoning still seems to rely on combat as the only realistic method for gaining charms. Especially given that the skill has so many non-combat applications. [/hide] Realistic? As far as I'm aware, you can gather charms via sprites. It doesn't get much more realistic than that. FYI, the lava titan is the highest level familiar that a skiller really needs. There's nothing stopping skillers from camping waterfiends for their charms if sprites aren't fast enough.

I hope it's good hunter experience. It looks much more engaging than penguins or salamanders, so I might just do this for my hunter exp. I'm kind of surprised that there are three different sprites that require the same hunter level to catch. Also, I imagine that fans of Conquest will be happy to see champions become a little more balanced. EDIT: Kudos to Jagex for making ranged and magic training viable options for beginners.

Effigies
Yeah, you get the lamp at the end, which gives you a very decent chunk of exp depending on what level you are in the skill you use it on.

I'll lose to you Games, but I'm not gonna be on most of today. ;/

Okay check this out. Last night I messaged this cute girl on facebook (she lives like an hour away, friend of a friend), and I was being a little flirty and we were hitting it off, then this happens: me: Do you like mini-golf? her: nope, mini golf and bowling are my least favorite things to do. me: Seriously? If you don't like bowling, we can never date. I can forgive you for not liking mini-golf though. ;) her: okay, unfortunately for you, i do not find this mode of flirtation cute or charming whatsoever. if you're assuming that this little exchange of superficial information can be the basis on 'our' future date, it's better we stop this conversation now before i'm forced to decline any upcoming invitations to meet your acquaintance in the future and allow you to penetrate the little time that I do have. sorry but thank you for making my night interesting for me and my roommates OW MY FEELINGS. If I were a lesser man I would've killed myself

I don't think that's the way to do it. Honestly, I wouldn't know how to make them challenging. Maybe give them specials?

Post and discuss all Jagex Twitter updates here!
To continue the off-topic discussion, I really like the idea of alternate summoning "powers," if you will.

Hopping world takes like 40 secs, so why waste time trying to crash someone? Usually it's easy to find an empty world while slaying, dunno about bosshunting. Well, it depends on the boss. For Bandos, it'd be much faster to crash someone than hop 20 times looking for an empty world.

No reason hard quests can't have low requirements. You're contradicting yourself there.
