  1. That's why I'm not sure about the Law of Conservation of Mass. Another law is that rules were made to be broken. But, then, would that mean that all rules weren't made to be broken? Why do you despise religion, though? I don't like the idea that people spend more time worrying about dying than they do about living. There are exceptions, obviously, but more often than not, religious people put much more energy into church than they do into their own families.

As I've stated twice in a row now, you do not perform all of these actions within a 2.1 second time frame. If I'm able to do all of this with my combat stats, it should be a breeze for you.

Drops stay put long enough and gargoyles die fast enough to allow you to make it back to your drop before it disappears. Moving clockwise around the pillar, I was easily able to collect my drops within a minute of them appearing on the floor. That was without a Slayer Helm, mind you. EDIT: You say that like Summoning is the only aspect of this game that utilizes micromanagement. A good number of skills require micromanagement to train at maximum speed.

That's what I mean. But you've got to hit the final blow on one gargoyle, then: Smash it with the hammer Run 12 steps over to the far group Pick up the drops that the gargoyle left from the last time it died Run to a spot where you can hit the gargoyle, but still have a large enough space for your familiar to spread out and attack Hit the gargoyle and call your familiar immediately All in under 2.1 seconds, without ever messing up - virtually impossible. As I've already stated, you do not perform all of these actions between two whips hits. It takes place over the course of killing one or two gargoyles. It's more like 10-15 seconds. Practice makes perfect. Click gargoyle to hit with hammer Click next gargoyle (hit) Click call when gargoyle hits Move to next gargoyle (hit) Your familiar will almost always teleport right next to the gargoyle, especially on the western side of the room. It was easier to deal with drops when moving around the pillar clockwise. Drops are mostly coins and steel items, which I do not pick up. I should also mention that if your familiar leaves to attack the monster that you're attacking, just switch places with it.

Exactly, but the shattering takes an extra click. Do you honestly believe you can shatter a gargoyle then run to the far group and hit another gargoyle in under 2.1 seconds and call your familiar before the gargoyle retaliates, EVERY time, for an hour straight? I'd like to see a video of this, I find it hard to believe. You call the familiar after the monster retaliates, or the familiar wont attack the monster. Remember to lure as well. My tasks usually last less than an hour, unless it's a particularly large task. Again, I'll look into recording a few minutes of it for you.
  6. I think it's easy enough to learn the controls, but takes a long time to really MASTER them. I also think it takes a long time for new players to really figure everything out, know where to train, how to train, how to make money, memorize the map, etc. I think Runescape gives the illusion of being a simple game, but it's extremely deep and complex.
  7. That's what I'm thinking. If it's fast, it could be a suitable alternative to a Saradomin Sword. I'm guessing it's not. :(

Your forgetting that you only need to miss one hit a minute to ruin the familiar. You should never lose a hit on either of the two groups, so if you spend anything over the 2.1 whip hit delay running between monsters, picking up drops, and shattering gargoyles your actually getting slower XP with a summon. I'll try to video something later to prove it's impossible to lure your familiar onto a separate monster without ever missing a single hit or waiting for a respawn, but it would probably be easier for you to make one showing you can. Shattering gargoyles is pretty simple. You don't lose an attack turn when you use the hammer, so I usually hover my mouse over the hammer when one or both of the gargoyles gets low on health. That way I can click call and put my familiar back in line, attack the other gargoyle if my familiar goes for mine, etc. I'll look into recording, though I've never done it before.
  9. conservation of mass, there was another universe before this one that collapsed and caused the big bang. Hm. I'm not sure about conservation of mass. Because where'd that universe come from? The one before it? The one before it? The one before it? Mind-boggling. Interesting how we can ask the same question of a God. Where did he come from? Who made him, and so on? :) While I despise religion, I'm certainly not an atheist. I like these sorts of questions, though they are entirely speculative.

As if. Preach was used as a sarcastic term, implying that you were talking about XP rates that you didn't know and couldn't test. I have tested it many times, and know what I'm talking about. You don't need to worry bout me giving bad advice. You've stated many times that you attack the same monster that your familiar is attacking. You have obviously not tested it. I have never given you exact experience rates. Bad idea. Due to the distance between groups, your missing out on .75-1 whip hit every time you rotate groups, resulting ini the loss of the 1 in 3 monster whip hit to make a summon break even. So far it's working out better than my previous method, and I'm still not losing any time. It's a little less chaotic, and I daresay a little more fun. I'll continue to test it when I get a Gargoyle task.
  11. This is very true. Many, many monotheistic religions refer to their god as "God."
  12. Obtaurian replied to compfreak847's topic in Rants
Yips don't attack unless attacked, which monsters don't do. I have yet to test my xp rates, but my tasks go by much faster with a combat familiar than a Bunyip.
  13. Obtaurian replied to compfreak847's topic in Rants
Just did a little testing without a Slayer Helm. I tried utilizing all four Gargoyles by running around the pillar clockwise. So far I'm getting good results. It might even work a little better than just taking three of them. :) Of course, it'd be much better with the helm. I did get a mystic top and a granite maul, so that's cool. I killed 40.

Tried, tested, and I will continue to "preach." The last thing I want is respected yet uninformed players like yourself giving bad advice to budding Slayers.
  15. Obtaurian replied to compfreak847's topic in Rants
I have tried it. Many times. Have YOU tried it? Clearly not, as you were the one preaching healing familiars, BOBs, attacking the same monster that your familiar attacks. How in the world is it impossible to move a Gargoyle a few spaces? Hit, move two squares, hit, move two squares... not a hard concept, and one that I learned from Zarfot's guide. You've also lowered your hit count from 4-6 to 3-4 (sometimes less)... stop changing your numbers. You have plenty of time to move yourself and a Gargoyle over to the nearest spawn. "...your summon rarely has time to get more then one hit in." Dear lord, please tell me you're not saying what I think you're saying. :wall:
  16. Obtaurian replied to compfreak847's topic in Rants
Ah, I see, misunderstood. One of the Gargoyles will almost always be close to you, so you just go for whatever one is closer. If the monster your familiar is fighting is attacking you, it will follow you as you run, and your familiar will chase it, which is the ideal scenario. If the monster is attacking your familiar, your familiar will usually stay put and attack it, assuming you don't chase a Gargoyle all the way around the middle pillar. You could also time it so that you move to the next Gargoyle when your familiars target is targeting you. Twelve steps is an exaggeration, and keep in mind that it's easy to lure a monster so that you don't have to run far, which is what you'll have to do if both Gargoyles are far away.
  17. Obtaurian replied to compfreak847's topic in Rants
Are you talking about the two lower Gargoyles? Cause those are RIGHT next to each other, and you always go for the Gargoyle that's closest. It's really not that hard. Certainly not as attention intensive as fletching or using humidify while you slay.
  18. How fast is it? Mace speed?
  19. Barely been playing r00nscape tbh. BUSY WIT DA SKOOLZ LOL.
  20. Obtaurian replied to compfreak847's topic in Rants
But your not understanding kill speed. Your making a wild guess based on the speed of kills, and it doesn't work that way as power increases. If your familiar only gets a hit in every now and then, it cannnot do much. To put this into perspective, all that's needed to offset the 6k\h speed boost of a combat familiar at gargoyles is roughly 60 whip hits - meaning that if you lose 1 whip hit on every third monster to get your combat summon engaged across the room (and indeed, your losing a lot more then that) it's not worth it. That's a TINY margin, and the main problem with summons in areas like that. I understand kill speed just fine, which is why I make damn sure that I never miss a whip hit. When you call the familiar, you click the monster, hit call the moment the monster attacks you, then click on another monster. It's really not hard at all.
  21. I doubt the gods are so markedly defined as many posters here are claiming. With the possible exception of Guthix and Zaros, the gods are merely given labels that roughly correspond to their respective ideologies. For example, Saradomin is often referred to as being the God of Righteousness, Wisdom, and Light. However, he has no more power or dominion over these than Armadyl has over Law or Bandos in Warfare (for example). I believe the Moon Clan has it right in that the gods are thought to be little different from mortals; they merely walk a "higher astral path." Concerning your description of Zamorak, I would argue that the "God of Chaos" title properly belongs to Zaros. I don't know about anyone else, but I see Guthix and Zaros as being antitheses of one another (Creation vs. Chaos/Destruction, and Life vs. Death). The fact that Zaros was equal to the threat posed by the combined force of every other god at the time of the God Wars confirms this for me. It may be that I'm reading too far into the mythology of a mere game, but in most real-life creation myths, there is a both a "void" and a creator god in the beginning of time. I equate Guthix with this creator god (even though he did not create the plane, he is undoubtably the source of life in Gielinor) and Zaros with the void (hence the title "Empty Lord"). Zamorak, if anything, is the "God of Evil"--being directly opposed to "Good" but still falling under the category of Creation rather than that of Chaos/Destruction. *Note* Seren is described at one point as being the physical manifestation of the Anima Mundi. Because of this, I tend to view her as being the "daughter" of Guthix. I gave the generic titles of the Gods and what they're most often associated with according to NPC's and the old God letters. We could go in depth, but perhaps another time. :) Like you, I'm very interested in the mythology of the game. I've always thought of Zaros as being the foil to Armadyl, but I do believe that you're right in that Zaros seemed to be far more powerful than the other gods. It would be interesting if he turned out to be the antithesis of Guthix.
  22. Saradomin - God of wisdom. Zamorak - God of chaos. Guthix - God of balance. Zaros - No one knows, referred to as the "Empty Lord." Armadyl - God of justice and law. Bandos - God of war. Seren - The Elves worship Seren, not quite clear what he/she is the god of, but is described as a being of pure crystal. Marimbo - Worshiped by the monkeys. Then there's the Desert Pantheon. Hopefully I didn't leave any out. Lucien isn't a god... yet. ;)

Yes, I have. Take a look back at my posts. I've done so, and I can't find where you specify that we're talking specifically about gargoyles, when I was trying to argue the point for ALL multicombat Slayer monsters. No, it's not. The cliff in the center is large enough that the far corners are outside of the familiars range. Why would you spend any time in the far corners? You're suppose to hug the middle rock. Luring the gargoyles helps as well, but it's not always necessary. Nope, implying that that would have to be done if you really didn't wanna miss much of the familiar's attacks. In reality, your never gonna get all of it done, and the familiar won't get nearly as much XP as the full 12k\h of uninterrupted combat. Thanks for recognizing my point. It would have to be done? You have much to learn, young padawan. You perform each individual action between whip hits, not all of them at once between whip hits. You don't even need to pick up drops every time. In reality, if you pay attention and you make sure to keep your attack consistent, it's quite easy to multitask. I can even do all of that while using humidify on fishbowls for extra magic experience and not miss hits! Yep, I've told you half a dozen times now. Your still not answering how your trying out any of the monsters we mentioned at your summoning level. I'm going to assume you've NEVER tried either a geyser titan, wolpertinger, or fire titan. If you have, feel free to correct me, but from now on I'm going to be basing this off of you not having a clue what your talking about, having never actually tried it yourself. You utilize the same exact methods from level 1 Summoning to level 93. Once you can use an Iron Titan at 95, you then should start using scrolls as well. You don't magically learn to call familiars at level 79 Summoning, which is all you're really doing. You can learn to do it at level 1 with a Spirit Wolf (though I wouldn't recommend using one.) Your Summoning level does not reflect your combat prowess with a familiar, it reflects your ability to collect charms and make them into pouches.

I specified at least 5 times, I was adressing the issue of gargoyles the entire time. No, you have not. It simply is. Your familiar is too far out of your range to continue fighting the far gargoyle, and will teleport back to you. You need to run pretty far away from your familiar before it teleports back to you. The Gargoyle room is far too small for that to happen if you're staying near the rope. I'm not saying it's a detriment; I'm saying it's physically impossible. You can't run over to another monster, whip it, call your familiar, crack the other gargoyle, pick up the drops, and return to the previous gargoyle without losing a stroke or two. Are you implying that you try to do all of that between whip hits? No wonder you're having problems. I'm not talking about "other monsters", I'm talking about gargoyles. It is utterly impossible to utilize monsters from the seperate group; the far monster will cause the familiar to teleport back. Have you ever actually tried this? =D> Wrong, it is far from impossible. Have YOU ever actually tried this? LOL CLAPING 3MOTE Once again you prove your inexperience. This is getting a tad ridiculous, Comp.
