  1. wat. Have you been to the cabbage patch below the Falador farming plot yet? I suggest you visit.

  3. I'm afraid quite a few different studies dispute your findings. Source please? I'll start off with http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v438/n7070/full/438900a.html That being said, I'm assuming it's *probably* more accurate then either a 32 year old computer consultant or an 18 year old with no outstanding intelligence characteristics. wat. I didn't say I was disputing anything, nor did I mention any findings. I'm just saying that a web encyclopedia that can be edited by anyone is probably not the best source to use to back up an argument. I agree with your second statement.
  4. Hello. Wikipedia is not a reliable source. Goodbye.
  5. I'm lol'ing. One of the staff members seems to be a /b/tard. inb41&2dontcare
  6. I lol'd. Brilliant. I'm going to have use a similar approach the next time I'm... approached.
  7. Cooking was my second favorite skill in Classic up until early RS2. The only time I cooked fish was when I would fish for monks when I first started training Slayer years ago. Other than that, I got up to about 65 Cooking making pies, cakes, etc. Fun stuff. I don't think I'll ever just buy a ton of sharks and do the AFK thing. I love cooking. It's one of two skills that I will willingly train inefficiently. Mining is the other, and it was my favorite skill for four years.
  8. It's annoying. I get the huge Wolverine thing across the entire page. inb4"justquit"

    This was also my point.
  10. Yeah but you're a noob, noob. I like practicality when it counts and showing off when practicality doesn't matter. I'm usually wearing boots of lightness, spottier cape, glory, etc. When I'm just standing in a bank, I usually wear fire cape/quest cape, falador shield 3, and boots of lightness. If I'm standing in a bank I'm probably stringing amulets, so I'll also have a mudstaff. I also tend to forgo the spottier cape for a quest cape on farming runs, just because I like it so much. I would never, ever wear anything but a fire cape on a Slayer task.

It depends - how many players could honestly say they think they will max out all of their stats? Also, look, for example, at your stats. Your level 80 fletching - you can get over 100k XP\h on that. 64 thieving? That breaks 200k XP\h. Same can be said for almost all of your non-combat skills. If you wanted total levels, you could get hundreds of them from your secondary skills before you even thought about leveling slayer at 20k XP\h. And that's why I said that most players would prefer to raise their stats at a roughly equal rate.
  12. What in Guthix' name did you do?

See a few dozen pages back, where it was mentioned that total levels, for virtually all people, can be trained faster using other, easier to train skills then slayer. Unless your completely maxed out, or very near maxed out, there's skills with faster levels then slayer at 85+. You wouldn't place value on a high total level unless you were planning on maxing in one way or another. You'd be correct if the player's goal was to max every skill with the EXCEPTION of Slayer, but I think that'd be kind of weird and pointless. More often than not, a player looking for a high total level would prefer to keep his/her stats roughly equal, hence the reason we place so much value on "all 60+, 70+, 80+," etc. The same does not apply to total experience, obviously.

THIS. THIS. A thousand times THIS. Slaying the lazy way is like mining coal to train mining. You're going to get tons of money by the time you get 99! In four years!
  15. This Development Diary is the last straw. I quit Runescape. I've been waiting on my toes this entire year for something... anything... one little glimmer of hope for the future of this beloved game. I asked for information, I asked for a BTS, I asked for a Jagex Periodical to keep me updated on what's going on. What do I get? A little blog by some nobody moderator. I want a refund, I want the wilderness, I want free trading, I want sailing, and I WANT A HINT AS TO WHAT'S GOING ON WITH RUNESCAPE! LOL KIDDING. I'm happy with the development diary. I'm not stupid enough to believe that this is the only one we're getting for another six months. They delivered EXACTLY what they said they would. It was a blog, less formal, and by one of the developers. They told us that they would only release DDs when the developers had something to say... and one did. I'll be waiting patiently for the next one. Until then, I have to go work on getting 99 in every skill, completing every minigame, soloing every boss, collecting every rare, and getting a spirit shield set. Why? BECAUSE I DON'T PLAY RUNESCAPE FOR THE WEEKLY UPDATES. Jesus [bleep]ing Christ. Unless you're in the top 1,000 players, you have absolutely no right to complain.
  16. Party Hats are the only "expensive" items available to skillers, currently.
  17. Sometimes I cry myself to sleep at night because bald men don't gang rape yew trees and players named 2072038782842 in full rune don't camp at green dragons anymore.

But then you wouldn't be a high level slayer. I think he meant like 130 cmb and the option to train slayer. Well, as I've said many times, that really depends on what you value. If you want to max combat THEN train Slayer, you'll have wasted a lot of time if you care about total levels. If you place a lot of value on experience over 99, it wont really matter.

After going back and rereading the last few pages, I've realized that we've really gone off topic. The original debate was whether or not combat familiars are worth using at Gargoyles. A very simple way to solve this would be to just do a test using tactics we're both familiar with. Record experience rates with a Bunyip and with a combat familiar while standing in the spot near the rope that Zarfot recommends. No quirky tactics, no question of whether or not it's impossible. Just a straightforward, controlled test. Sound good? EDIT: I'm pretty sure I'm to blame for driving us off topic.
  21. It definitely goes both ways. Very true. EDIT: GREAT movie.

I've read his gargoyle guide many times., He never says ANYTHING about a circular attack, in fact he says to pick a group and stay with it. You were talking about picking up drops without losing a whip hit, which Zarfot explains how to do in his guide. While I learned a lot from him, I don't follow his methods exactly. I like to experiment with Slayer. I used his method of Slaying gargoyles for a long time before I started trying to net a third Gargoyle into my slaying.

If you have it down and can do it smoothly and with as few mistakes as possible, you should be able to finish your tasks at a much faster rate with your superior combat levels. Sorry for the misunderstanding there. Make up your mind.
  24. Obtaurian replied to compfreak847's topic in Rants
And as I've stated 4 times in a row now, you do or you end up missing a whip hit. The higher your combat stats the faster the kills are and the more difficult it is. Same thing applies to combat familiars. You don't mess up your whip hits if you've practiced and got it down. You perform one action at time. It's like picking up drops between every hit. It would be more click intensive at higher combat levels, so you'll just have to concentrate more. This isn't like woodcutting.
