How Much is Your Account Worth to You?
I would probably do it for $1,000 minimum. I love my account, and I've been playing for so long, but I'm not very attached to the name. I could start over and get my current stats and bank in less than a year if I really tried. Anything less than $1,000 would be pointless to me. I'm not worried about money enough to justify selling it for less than that.

mining, don't do it- waste of time
Powermining is very much alive and well. Same with fishing.

mining, don't do it- waste of time
An intelligent rune miner will never (or rarely) have to compete for rune ores, unlike woodcutters. Can you answer me a question? WHY should we make mining easier, when it's already relatively easy? Slayer and Runecrafting are much slower, so should we make those easier, too? I don't understand your reasoning, and frankly, I didn't understand a single thing you wrote until the last sentence, and you were misinformed.

nice It's been so long since I've been able to wear zamorak D hide..When did it raise to nearly 1m? I'm not sure when, but people use it for GWD, so it's a very useful item.

Today...
I have an Abyssal Demons task, so if I can force myself to do it, I'll finish that. God I can't stand tasks in single combat. -.- Not sure what else I would do. If I finish that task, I'll just keep slaying till I get another demons task.

mining, don't do it- waste of time
who doesn't use mousekeys. You don't use your brain properly if you spam crap like this. Answer the second question, please. Are you powermining clay? That might be your problem. You, do you have any idea of what you're talking about?!? Yews are horribly slow at 60, they're horribly slow at 70 and they only become somewhat decent after 80 woodcutting. You think you're ready to make cash fast and easy just because you have got 60 woodcutting? How shamefully naive you are. I'd suggest you make a thorought investigation on the matter, otherwise your arguments will not stand a chance. The "yews are good for money" phrase is wrong. The correct one would be "Yews aren't really an amazing money-making way, but if you are a F2P fail mercher/pker, they may worth your time." TO say wcing yews is slow at 80- lvl is the same as saying rune mining is slow at 99- levels. So what the hell is your point? How so? Rune mining is MUCH better money than yews at ANY level. What the hell are you talking about? Changing it to be balanced from the old one is like updating it, improving it so it would be equal to woodcutting. Or if you don't want mining to be easier, increase the difficulty of woodcutting and screw the even larger population of people without 99 woodcutting. Think about it. Jagex will always try to please the larger group of people and minimise the unhappiness of customers. So what if you screw people up? When the "cook x" option and pest control came out, everyone who got 99 cooking the old fashioned way/ high lvled combat felt cheated. Different people have different thinking. What you think as "respectable" another person might call it old fashioned and pointless. Cope with change-you cant stop it. If you cant, go play classic. If there's not change, runescape will become a boring old game with nothing ever updated. Face it. You don't like mining. You can't stand it because it's a "waste of time". Call it what you'd like to, but in the end it's only a veil. Who cares though? I can't stand fletching, woodcutting, or fishing. I think they're all wastes of times, it's fine to feel that way. Update = improvements -> change to easier -> rants To be honest, MANY more people profit from mining as it is than as it will be if you get your way. It's not broken, why would you want to fix it? You'd only make it worse. Yes, change means progress. But change can almost mean damage. People always think of new improvements as a way of enhancing life, but that's not always true. New improvements could very well make things much worse. Example? A few months ago Barbarian Fishing was the best way to train fishing. Insane xp and additional xp in 3 skills. But with cut-x for the fish, while it may now SEEM easier, it is in reality much MUCH slower. Jagex's "improvement" killed off one of the best ways to train fishing. I'm not arguing that doing it the old way is respectable. If that was my point, I'd be killing Giant Skeletons for xp, and not doing Slayer. I'm saying that Jagex has wasted other people's time. They want to KEEP customers correct? Not make loyal ones angry and leave. No half brained idiot is going to quit the game because they can't man up to one skill, so they'll stay. Once again, you are one of a very small minority who does not reap rewards out of mining. If you change it, you'll hurt the majority. You may not like Karl Marx very much, but he has some very true statements. Why should the government cater to the needs of the small upper class when it is hurting and ignoring the overwhelming majority that is the lower class? The same applies here. Why do you want to change something to hurt a lot of people while only benefitting a handful of people, such as yourself, who don't like it? I bet Jagex would much rather see a few of you go than a much population go. EDIT: If you're getting 10k per hour powermining iron something is wrong with you. After level 50 you almost always 1 hit iron, so the xp is flat from there on out. In f2p, the max xp would be 42k-ish xp, but that's nearly impossible. I found myself consistently in the mid-30k range. And trust me I wasn't trying very hard, so there must be something you are doing wrong. Sorry to sound so accusative, but that has to be the reason. There's no reason why you should only get 10k per hour at level 50. Always one-hit iron at lvl 50 mining? dream on. I can vouch that at level 50 mining, you one hit iron most of the time. At my level, I can't remember the last time I didn't one hit iron. I can stand mining for goodness's sake. I can't do it everyday because i have to train other low leveled skills to balance them out. How many times do i have to say this... So you're lazy. Face it. You can't bear to lose your overly fast way to earn money because you got to lvl 85+ mining in p2p and now try to make things difficult for other people who have not got it yet. Couldn't we say the same thing about 91 Runecrafting, or any moneymaking method for that matter? No ones trying to make things difficult for anyone else. Some people are just less lazy than others. Who cares if rune ore prices drop? If there was a new ore to mine at lvl 90 or something, rune ore prices will crash. Rune ore is only used for smithing training. Who trains all the way to lvl 85+ smithing just to get rune weapons? Even selling 2 rune ores for about 35k, they can earn enough to buy a rune scimitar that costs 20k(req 2 bars) and have 15k+ left over. And since when did i state that i dislike Karl Marx? Runescape's political system is far from communism. Jagex caters to the lower class people far more than the upper class even though the upper class worked far more than the lower class. And anyway, communism will never work out because if gp was distributed evenly, why should you work hard at all? (don't make me give you a lecture on politics) So far you have yet to introduce a compelling argument. You've also yet to post without flaming.

Time for armoury and weapons update for 120+ cb players?
Not necessarily. I like the idea of having two hitpoints per HP level, or something to that effect. At level 99 your HP would be 198.

Slayer Gear
Slayer Helm Fury Fire Cape Berserker Ring Cheapest Barrows plate body (Except Verac's) Verac's Plateskirt Dragon Boots Barrows Gloves Rune Defender Whip This is the best (standard) gear you can get without buying Bandos/Spirit Shields/etc. Also make sure to buy Karil's top and bottom and full proselyte. You may consider switching out the barrows platebody with proselyte plate if you're using 10% strength or Piety. A crush weapon is preferred against Waterfiends and Gargoyles. Saradomin Sword is best. EDIT: Always maximize attack bonus. When praying on a task, only switch plate and legs. The only exception is Scabarites. Some tasks, like Terrorbirds and Suqahs, force you to use protection prayers and standard melee gear. Always a combat familiar unless it's a single combat task. Try to fight in multicombat whenever possible. I personally ONLY use a bunyip on abyssal demons tasks. Use whatever healing methods available to you to make up for not using a bunyip. This includes Guthan's (if you absolutely cannot find anything else) and bones to peaches. Enhanced Excalibur or SGS are the best. If you can afford it, consider buying a DFS for Wyverns. I recommend canceling Irons and Steels as they're very slow experience. My personal cancel list is: Irons Steels Hellhounds Greater Demons You may consider unblocking Irons when you're near maxed melee, or when you can use a pack yak. Consider using a d2h spec on multicombat monsters that crowd around you. Dagannoths are probably best for this. If you don't need the healing and don't have a SGS, use a DDS for specials. Search "Mega Slayer Guide 3" on the RSOF for an extremely in depth Slayer guide that will answer most, if not all of your questions. I typed this up because I'm sick of people who know nothing about Slayer giving Slayer advice to other people who know nothing about Slayer. Good luck, slay on.

mining, don't do it- waste of time
You think you're so smart that you can insult people's intelligence? Firemaking is a processing skill and it is not on the same level as mining!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now who's the stupid idiot? It is broken, by the way. Just because it's profitable doesn't mean its not broken. Wcing yews earn a lot of money for a skill that requires only 60 wc. Ok rune mining earns more but it needs 85 MINING for goodness's sake. At lvl 45 or something, training mining can only get you at MAX about 10k exp per hour powermining iron ore. Wcing, i got from level 44-48 in about 1 and a half hour. Could you please provide sources for your numbers? I'm particularly worried that you think yews are good money and 45 mining maxes at 10k exp an hour. Actually, 10k is high. When I powermined mining for quest requirements, I would go from iron rock to iron rock, dropping ores. At 50 mining I actually hoped for 10k mining xp/hr and rarely got it. P2P or F2P? Where did you powermine? Did you use mousekeys, which are available to everyone?

mining, don't do it- waste of time
I'm sorry, but I pay to play the game, so I have access to a much larger supply of ores and trees than you do. I'm afraid I can't empathize.

Reveal Confessions, Secrets & Regrets...
After my first serious relationship, I told myself that I'd never discuss marriage with another girl again and never say "I love you" before I honestly meant it 100%. Well what do you [bleep]ing know. -.- She told me she loved me three weeks into it. First girlfriend was two weeks. Discussing marriage at two months into it for both of them. STUPID STUPID STUPID. Only difference was that I was much smarter in regards to sex this time. First girl pressured me into losing my virginity only a few days after the "I love you." Yes, guys can be pressured. I was scared out of my mind. After that relationship ended I realized that having sex with her was probably no different than having sex with a really prude blowup doll. It was boring. This time, however, we waited till about five months into it, so it worked out pretty well. I honestly do love her, though that was questionable at first. Still pissed off about letting her talk about marriage. I don't like that kind of pressure. I'm almost nineteen. I don't need to think about [cabbage] like that yet. Oh, and the sex is amazing. Hope this isn't too risque for Tipit.

RuneScape + Classmates = Z0MG FAIL!11
My close friends play WoW and try their best to make fun of me for playing Runescape. The common argument is "lol graphics," to which I respond, "lol enjoy your simplistic gameplay, inability to switch classes without creating whole new characters, ease of getting to the end game, and monotony." My girlfriend knows and she likes to joke around and call me a nerd. I hope. Otherwise, I tell people that I play Runescape. They either don't know what it is or don't care. It's not a secret. I've been playing for eight years and I love this game.

Farming Revolution? Will people actually use allotments now?
This makes me extremely happy. I can't believe Jagex actually did this.

Most Desired Item in All of RuneScape?
Divine Spirit Shield or Saradomin Godsword. I cry myself to sleep sometimes...

The numbers of meleers/rangers/mages speak for themselves. Magic requires extremely quick thinking and a great deal of luck to pull off, and there are many drawbacks to it. A few pages back, I think Compfreak agreed that one could reasonably remove the magic combos in place of a special attack that hits just as hard as ranged and melee specials do. Apparently not, if we're all still in complete disagreement. What "numbers" are you referring to?

Surely the OP would agree to put his argument to the test? Warrior and Compfreak would be happy to prove that magic is truly on par with range and melee, I'm sure. Seems to me that the only way anything is going to be settled here is by first hand experience.

The crash code - µ
That's badass. This is madness. NO. THIS. IS... well, madness. It really is. I'm suspecting a rollback. I haven't lost anything. I happen to have logged out before starting an abyssal demons task. I guess it means I'll end up back at Mutated Velds. Awesome. In my opinion, a rollback is necessary at this point.

Minergoo`s Skilling Blawg (woodcutting this week!)
Hi, I'm the little voice in your head telling you to get 90 Slayer.

Slayer Sucks
I am certain that drop rate is higher than 1/700, it is somewhere around 1/400 to 1/450. Since it is a rate of 65k melee xp/h, that means you get 108.3 kills per hour, which is approximately 1/4 of a Whip every hour. Only taking that into account results in about 375k profit per hour, however the other drops are not worthless. On Slayer I get over 150k per hour from all drops exlcuding the Whip, so the average rate for off Slayer will be slightly less, around 125k. So it is about 500k profit per hour for camping Abyssal Demons. While you get about 35 crimsons per hour camping, you will get about 17 gold, 5 green and 2 blue charms. This is about 17k Summoning experience, maybe less depending on what you are able to make. If you add up all the experience gained, you get roughly (65,000+21,666+17,000) 103.7k experience. Armoured Zombies is (103,000+34,333+9000) 146.3k experience per hour (according to compfreak847, also the 9k is for experience form the charms). Also profit rates would be 500k and 190k respectively. In short, for Abyssal Demons to gain the same amount of experience as Armoured Zombies would in one hour, would take approximately 1.41 hours. In that amount of time you would gain 705.4k profit. Armoured Zombies now has 0.41 hours to make back the 895.4k (705.4+190). This requires about 2.18mil per hour to be made. After all that, what does it show? Absolutely nothing  . This thread was intended to show that Slayer "sucks" for combat experience by showing a method that is considered to be more efficient (and at my Slayer rates, Slayer wins). It isn't a comparison of a whole skill to one monster exactly, it is a comparison of the rate of combat experience gotten in each. P.S For picking up any drop (charms or otherwise), if timed right you lose no time at all. I like your facts and all but you got to realise your rates are very hard to obtain. I've recently been slaying and I can't give exact numbers, but a few times I did 10 minutes, or 1 hour samples and got MUCH lower rates. (fiends for instance, I got only 92 crimsons per hour last task, flicking piety mostly, and using Z spear. I reckon I could get up to 100+, but certainly not 140, yet my stats are only 5 lower than you) I don't claim your rates are impossible, but it seems that getting your slayer rates is quite a bit harder than getting comp's AZ rates. AZ's are much more simple. You don't have to quickly change gears and inventory, knowing what you'll need by heart and not forgetting anything. You don't have to know the best spot to place your cannon (I always forget that one...). You don't have to ... I'm 86 slayer, so I do have *some* experience with slayer, FYI. There are a few tricks to slaying very quickly, most of which are outlined in Zarfot's guide. Zarfot has also stated that when he was slaying, he kept a list of inventories and equipment next to his computer for quick reference. It's pretty handy. Also keep in mind that obtaining max experience rates means constant attention and reaction.
