Whoa nice! I thought demon soloing pretty much took care of zilyana soloing for the time being. Man! I soloed demons for like 400+ blues, no damn drops! My best drop was a rune square.... The demons don't like me.

You can sell the lump/shard/whatever, and I don't think that'll ever change. You can't pot up to start quest, just like that Back To My Roots quest.

You receive one dragon part after beating the quest. To get the other two, you can get them from tormented demons, where you can also get dragon claws.

I'm very sure you have to lose your first set first. Try selling it to a trusted friend... Aww man....

After I beat the quest, how would I go about getting another set of elite armor or Dagon'hai robes? I've been killing elite mages and elite black knights (138) but no drops.
