  1. I don't think so. I think it's the same rate as it would be with a harpoon, you just get STR xp too.
  2. AWESOME, thanks! I'll check out the star mining guide and thanks for all the info!!
  3. Only drop your items if you never plan on playing again. I know a lot of people who did that and when they wanted to come back they had nothing and so they never played again. Lost a lot of friends that way :-\
  4. And I'd like it if someone had some XP/hr averages...:)
  5. Well as F2P I don't know of a whole lot that you can do, but you could always try making a goal for yourself? A level that you want that would open up new possibilities or something? Perhaps go for some combat levels to fight better monsters and get better loot? I see you've been a member before, maybe try and get members for a month and see if that interests you?
  6. Good suggestions, thanks! And I'll look into the shooting stars thing, I don't do many of the distractions/diversions thing so I don't know much about them :) Any more suggestions?
  7. Ok so here is the deal. I'm considering going for 85 mining and I'm trying to figure out some stuff about it, I've never been big into mining so I want to ask for help. Granite is still the fastest xp, correct? How much xp avg could I get per hour, mining and dropping? If I, however, want to perhaps swap it up and make a little teensy bit of profit doing iron/coal, how much iron ore (estimated, of course) do you think I could get in an hour, while banking it? And what is a good location for mining and banking iron? And with coal as well, but I imagine that's a little more complex question. I appreciate any help you can give, answer any or all of the questions and don't be afraid to repost the same advice! It'll just help to reaffirm other opinions. Going to bed now but I'll be checking this tomorrow. Thanks in advance for your help!
  8. yes, they are. And if you're not going to kill bears, buy them from baraek (varrock square) since he is so close to GE. You can get a 2 coin discount if you complain about high price. Oh excellent. Thanks!!!
  9. There is an option for both on the GE, Fur is 138gp ea and I can't seem to buy it, order has been in for a while. Bear fur is 6gp ea.
  10. The fur that you need for the quest- is that the regular "Fur" only, or can it be bear fur?
  11. I'd just like to point out that this is no help to the poster whatsoever... I downloaded the RS client and put it on a jump drive (I don't have any clue how that worked-- the RS site was blocked in both Mozilla and Internet Explorer, but from the client it ran fine) I doubt it will work but perhaps its worth a shot. If this is the same thing that's been recommended before, I apologize. I'm not very internet/computer savvy.
  12. They drop eggs that can be used for summoning pets, if you are interested, but the money is in the tree seeds. You can get any tree seed up to Magics, which sell for a fair bit of money, and the crushed nest (bird's nest + mortar and pestle) sell for 1.8k ea on GE.

For clarification, because they lower your agility level, and therefore each time you fail become harder to get past. :)
  14. That's what I thought, I just wanted a little reassurance. :) Thanks!
  15. I don't need to have any quests done to wield this correct? Just have 60 defence...?
  16. I found this guide to be indispensable when I went to aviansies. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=708158
  17. I like halberd in the watchtower dungeon (in Gu'Tanoth or something). Sometimes it's crowded but usually it's pretty easy to find a clear place with a world hop or two. And if you have watchtower teleport, you can bank pretty easily.
  18. I'm pretty sure it's just crafting the highest level dragonhide body you can. Or the best combination of gp/xp.
  19. The official statement is that the gloves don't help with monkfish. However, many people believe they do help, to varying degrees. Personally, I think it's around 90-92 when you significantly stop burning (yes at 99 it's still possible to burn them)
  20. To be honest, my favorite method to raise ANY combat skill is what ilovecardj already said, slay. It's a slower process but you'll never regret time you put into the slayer skill. If that's not your cup of tea, the also mentioned yaks with bronze knives is good, or pretty much anything with a dorgeshuun crossbow I like, since you can spend no more than 500k.
  21. Agility levels are always worth it. It's the only skill that is ALWAYS helping you. And yes, I only have 60. I know it's useful. I'm just lazy :D
  22. The generally accepted number is about 1k an hour I believe.
  23. 99 FM with maples will be around 3.5-4m, and will take 1 hr per k logs needed (around) so from your level I'd guess around 100-110 playing hours (given a cushion since you won't be able to stay steady all the time) Can't help with the others, sorry. Just my 2 cents
  24. Right click, hit "store" Only some familiars are "beasts of burden" meaning they can carry items for you. Thorny Snail (lvl 13) 3 items Spirit Kalphite (25) 6 Bull Ant (40) 9 Terrorbird (52) 12 etc.
  25. Yes I used Summer Pies the whole time from 53.
