if i recall, it has no street value since they crashed already As a matter of fact your couldn't be father from the truth. They are currently bought out and are one of the harder 3rd age pieces to get. So you can hang onto it for a few updates and then sell for a profit. As for street price they don't have a big buying power because the buyout isn't exactly super with partyhats and such being the hot items. All you will be able to turn is a profit or use it as leverage for some bought out herbs and nothing much elese.

3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
Just an update for everyone...... More and more partyhats seem to be selling in person these days. There is currently a lot in circulation for herblaw supplies; however, they are being traded for insane amounts of herblaw supplies so the general public demand will not be hurt too badly. Currently the lower three partyhats are teeter tottering and with a release of another money sink skill or incentive to train one they will most likely crash. The top two partyhats seem pretty strong while the status of red is debatable currently and only time will tell. Don't expect a blue or white crash for awhile even if they release incentives to train money sink skills. I think it will take a whole new money sink to crash these and even then it might not happen. If you want to check out my prediction about what will happen when/if partyhats crash it's on page 62 near the end of the page. Masks don't seem to be doing too well right now, but it's not very bad nor is it minor. Santas are currently decent but the buyout isn't strong; so don't expect it to last very long. Third age is basically the same with range, melee, and range tops and bottoms being the hardest to get with of course the melee plate and legs being the hardest to buy out of that set. The other pieces are mid-max depending on the time of day. Expect to wait over a day if you have an offer in for melee plate and legs. Pumpkins dropped 10-15M in street today so they aren't as hot as they were a few days ago but, they are still pretty darn good for their market price. Disks, easters, half wines, and crackers remain the same street as they have been for the past few weeks.

[img=http://avatar-rs.runescape.com/c=QciiGKsSt8k/blutters/chat.gif] That didn't tell me anything... :? Switch where it says "chat" in the code to "full" that's all you need to do. That didn't change what picture it displays as my avatar on the RSOF. I don't think you can change it on RSOF.

07-Oct-2009 - High-level Herblore Potions
So I log on to check the weather before school and see this. Very nice job Jagex on giving what the high leveled players have been asking forever: untradeable things to make at high levels. Even though I can't make the majority of these new potions I applaud Jagex on this update as it is what high levels truly want.

3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
Yes OTM you basically have it right. Santas to my knowledge are not bought out by an particular clan at the moment. The rises and falls are purely from solo merchants or people buying and selling them. Halloween masks seem too overpriced in my opinion. They are starting to go down, but it's not a crash. So if your going to invest in one you should wait until they settle. Half wines dropped in street price a bit, but are still well over 1.5B along with it's friend the cracker. Eggs are currently 40-50M street while disks are pushing 100M. Pumpkins are a very hot item at this moment and are being traded for partyhats quite easily. Their street price pushes over 150M, however, they are a result of the recent partyhat panic and the fact that they rise easily in the GE. Some pieces of 3rd age are currently bought out like legs and plate. While others are buyable at mid-max at different times of the day. Expect to wait a few hours at least for any melee piece along with the top and bottom for the range and mage sets. Ahh......partyhat time the whole reason behind this sum up. Recently Jagex changed the GE system so that it became a buyers market. They did this by making it so that if you put an item in the GE and there is already offers for that item for over the price you put it in at, it will sell for the exact price of which you put it in at. This however only effects some items such as rares and a few heavily traded items. Meaning you shouldn't expect to put an item that sells for max in for mid and get max for it; you'll instead get what you put it in for. Now with a combination of that change and the partyhat prices reaching what they were right after the GE was introduced (the time they were unsellable). Meaning that those previously outdated offers from all those old players who threw their partyhats in the GE and never took them out are starting to become active. Thus they are starting to sell and with the change in mechanics they will sell for exactly what they were put in for even if it in min. Partyhats selling at under mid will cause them to drop even though people were offering max. So the partyhat prices started to jump around and not rise the full 1% causing a panic and more people throwing them in for under mid even though they were still bought out. It has settled down since, but it is an important thing to realize that Jagex changed the system and that a drop in the GE price doesn't mean a crash. This "event" ended with the lower three and possibly red taking a hit in street price due to panic and the sell off which dropped public demand which is needed for any great buy out. If anyone has any questions they can PM me or post, but I will not be able to answer them until later tomorrow as again.........I'm busy. :wall:

Will jagex make an unsoloable monster?
It's impossible to make an unsoloable monster for the fact that there is over 20 ways to cause an invisibility glitch to where the most can't attack back. However, I assume your talking about under normal circumstances I'd say yes Jagex will do something along the lines of another Corp beast. But it takes a lot of work to not make the monster to hard. Give it some time and it'll happen.

The Dwarf N33B's Blog 99/99 Summoning BUSY IRL
Cus u posted on meh blogeh? Never see you on though <_< Well it's time to update my blog on what has been going on with me since the new forums are up. Recently I've just been too busy IRL to play RS. But when I have time I do whatever I feel like because I can't get myself committed to 99 slayer and play one hour a day or something, it'd drive me insane. I used up all my brawlers while getting agility armor and decided to get the adze finally. I also used my thieving brawlers while I was on that skilling spree. Got back into slayer last weekend because I had no HW but this weekend will be hectic so don't expect me to be on at all. [hide=Pictures] Got the agility top awhile back :): I think I bought too many staves from zaff and waited too long to craft them The whole chat screen was filled with this damn spam :wall:[/hide] Also got a d bow #9 off a task :)

Welcome to Invision Power Board!
Downloaded FF3 thanks a lot guys <3: Back to forum browsing on this stone age computer. Now that that is resolved I'd like to say nice job on the forums they are really a step up, but like everyone else a Tip.it skin is needed so we look different from every other fansite with IPB3.

Welcome to Invision Power Board!
Do you have JavaScript enabled? That sounds like what would happen if you didn't. And what browser are you using? Ya JavaScript is enabaled. Right no I'm on my brothers old computer because he's on the main one doing some videos for his work so this has..um..*checks* I.E 5.5 rofl. Maybe it's just the old browser, but I've used Zybez smoothly on this computer before. I'm not sure, however it's really an inconviences for me because I'll be using this computer the majority of the month while my brother is at home. Help <3: That would be why, try browsing Zybez now and you'll probably have much the same issues now they've updated to IPB3. Minimum browser it supports is IE6, there's no reason for you to be running IE 5.5 anyway, upgrade to 7 for your own sake, or if that's not available at least grab FF2. :) The only thing I can suggest if you have no choice but IE5.5 is the Lo-fi skin. It's not my computer so I really don't have much of a choice on what version of IE to use. What's FF2 if you could please explain. I can currently run Zybez without any problems once so ever meaning I can post pictures just fine and click things like bold and change my fonts. So I'm not sure why Tip.it is acting this way. Is there anyway I can run Tip.it normally with this computer because I do quite enjoy these forums. I would atleast like to know how to post a picture without getting it to resize then fail to be clickable (or does it only show resized for me?). Not to mention hide tags would be a plus. If there isn't anything I guess I'll sit the rest of this month out until my brother leaves and I get back to my regular computer. What Operating System are you running on that? By FF2 I meant Firefox 2, but depending on the OS you might be able to grab a higher version. IE5.5 is terrible! Windows 98 Second Edition 4.10.2222A I know it's from the stone age, but it's this or no RS :P Firefox sounds good though so inform me if it works with 98 I'm not that computer savvy.

New Times! - Excl Interview and more!
Thanks for all the replies everyone. I guess my pro-Jagex view was from the fact that I was a runecrafter during that time period and have never really been interested in pking. With that considered I felt that I touched both sides of the argument pretty well and left it open ended so you could thik and tell us what you thought. I believed there is nothing worse (article wise; with the excepcion of a few) then something that doesn't offer any counter argument and therefore any real discussion value further than ya cool article I agree on everything! I tend to enjoy writing the ones where the different side of the story is up there for all the read and that way it encourages people to say something and a bit of rhetoric is a lot of fun sometimes. ;) As jp said we arn't staff and I would certainlly not accept being told I had to write about something while being told what side I'm supposed to choose. I choose my side because at the time I was a runecrafter and rc pkers were just such noobs (ya that's the right word :P). The day they took out the wilderness was the day I could start efficiently rcing without the hassle of being pestered every other run. I'm sure if I pk'd during that time I'd be focusing more on the PvP part of my article, which I just couldn't sit there and talk about something I have little insight about.

3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
A merchant clan does play a roll in the reason that they rise but they play a much bigger roll in how they get them to rise. First, no item can ever be "bought out" without a public demand for the item. If there is no public demand and the merchants are the only ones interested in it then it will flop. You need peons to help run the merchanting scheme. Now for my second point, merchants have various programs that make an alarm of sorts that tell you when a page has been changed (the ge page in this case). That way they can hit the grand exchange offer buttons ASAP and get the brand new offers for all the items they want in (remember most of them camp at the GE during popular update periods or all day in some hardcore cases). Once this is done a group of players who know they got the first offers in sell them via the ge so that the GE recognizes items sold at max therefore making the system make the item rise. This is repeated numerous times between the same group of people. Now sometimes you get the quick regular joe and they get the hat but in the grand scheme of things one hat isn't at all much. Jagex has made this much easier by dropping the update minimum (the amount of an item sold to require an update) to around 10-20 hats sold between updates. This way partyhats can update every other day with the exception of the blue which is circulated rarely. With the exception of a few Jagex interferences, this runs rather smoothly and turns out for a very nice gradual profit. However, with the pricing rising 1m+ every other day less and less people will be interested in buying one. On the other hand, the quicker they rise the more desirable they become leading them to be able to go higher then they were right after the GE was instituted. This coupled with the fact that partyhats are a symbol of wealth, an extremely popular goal item, and with the lasting inflation of pvp tricking allows them to go even higher. Furthermore, even though I might sound like I'm saying partyhats are the best and will keep rising blah blah...I'm not. They will crash when they reach the point were public demand falls to a bare minimum and the only people who want them are merchants and people who want them for keeps. Once the first (it is extremely important you realize that this is the first crash out of multiple to come) crash occurs they will be quickly bought out again by the people who want to keep them. Once this happens merchants will suck up what they can and they might rise a tad more and crash again for the second time. Once this happens they should drop down for a few updates until they get sucked up again. This will repeat until they become like the arcane and spectral spirit shield and are have too low of a supply to were the merchants control the majority of them and make is so they don't have the power to control the market entirely. Then they will remain stable until the balances shifts again and the process repeats if economical conditions provide. They could repeat the process the "first crash" did for multiple times demanding on the market and the things Jagex releases (if Jagex releases a skill to where spending money is a large part of it demand for partyhats and large items in general will fall causing an earlier crash and less successful rebuyouts). It is also entirely possible that the large partyhats, blue, white, and possibly red, will not be effected due to the lower supply and the fact that people that buy them (excluding some merchants) tend to keep them as they are the keep sake ones and are a bigger decision then the others (yes I am saying throwing around 250M+ for a hat is a bigger decision than 120M-200M, it's the truth so accept it and try not to be offended). On a final note, if you really are interested in buying a partyhat then I suggest you do so right after the first or second crash. On another note, if you feel the price is too much then don't force yourself to pay for it. I suggest finding a price in your mind that you want to pay for a partyhat and if the partyhat goes over it then keep the offer there until it sells or you lose interest in it. If anyone has any questions about what I just typed feel free to PM me but remember everything decision is yours and yours alone I only provide information that may or may not influence a decision.

Retro Revival - 15-Sep-2009
I absolutely loved the idea when MMG first talked about it, but when they metion renting a server it seems to me like another ploy to turn in revenue like the security key things was (which I havn't heard much at all about lately). The concept of Jagex actually becoming a company that cares about revenue to fund mechscape and buggy updates just irks me. I don't mind paying a bit extra to play classic, but the fact that they changed from a way to bring enjoyment to their old fan base to a way to milk money out of an old fanbase is just ridiculous. If they would promise to hire more QA team members or let a select group of longtime players test content and find bugs I wouldn't be as mad. So Jagex, either work on your budget better or find other ways to fund mechscape because, trying to milk nostalgia and peoples' fear about security is just sad. :shame: Keep giving into the whiners who can't work for their levels and test out renting RS2 and mechscape servers. Get your heads out of the firmament Jagex and lets get back down to earth. What lasts longer Jagex, players working hard for maxed glory or whiners enjoying maxed stats for all their glory which gets old faaaaast?

Quest Requirements, Should we know?
We worked for our 80's way before any quest was released. I think the people who train for other reasons than for an item or a quest should get the head start like they used to. I think this is the first quest that they actually told you the requirements beforehand and I get were you might like it, but if you had the requirements for say the fally diary before and they didn't spoil it like they did here you'd get were we were coming from too.

You could just get your summoning up finally and then you can use them easily. I'm one of those people who enjoys doing things in large sums at a time. So I'm holding out until I have the charms for 99 to train summoning again as 96 realy won't effect what I'm doing atm. Not to mention you can't always save your gloves. Further more, this way I knock out two birds with one stone.
