  1. I'd have to say get your range up because of the new AI there isn't anymore great spots were you can just kill them without taking any damage at all like your used to. Range for sure and maybe melee to 85. There are some great guides in AOW if you take time to look.
  2. Stealing creation proto-tools :)
  3. Your wrong there. How good you are at combat is not only based upon your levels, but knowing when to eat, knowing when to special, money, and of course luck. Last I checked I didn't get a cb level for money, or pvp skill at all. Your view of combat seemed so skewed as you think it's all represented in your level when in fact it is not at all. I could be a maxed 138 with the most money under the sun and still loss to someone who knows what they are doing in PvP.
  4. You, sir, win this discussion. It has never really totally represented your combat ability. If you were hiding AGS it was never showed by your combat level, but it greatly effects your ability. If you had agility as stated before it never showed, but it gave you a very good advantage against someone else if you were planning on running. So really never represented their ability in combat from the first place. However, I see that post sides have valid arguments and they are on the opposite sides of the spectrum. It however is important that instead of making a decision because someone is crying about it that Jagex actually looks at the facts and makes a decision not based on majority but on what's right. I think that is what most of us that are against this change are after. I'd hate to see a trend to start that if I whine and spam hard enough that I will get what I want. First of all, thank you for phrasing my argument in a more cohesive manner. The problem is that for a while Jagex had the opposite problem; they seemed to ignore what the players (Pkers?) wanted. Jagex cannot cave into peer pressure, but as you said, they need to begin a trend of educated, well-balanced updates, and should listen to suggestions from their community (and distingush between well-thought out feedback to ranting). So, who here would like to see more skill-combat integration? Perhaps a Slash attack bonus (not damage, simply accuracy) from Woodcutting? Crush bonus from Mining? A boost in Fire magic from firemaking? New familars from Slayer? A chance of cutting two logs at once from Strength? A defense bonus from defense? The thing the makes Runescape successful is it's diversity. By giving people who skill too many benefits in PVP Jagex will discourage plain combat training, which is not bad by any means. It's finding the balance between giving benefits to skillers and not leaving the pkers left in the dust if they don't skill. Things like the agility bonuses in PVP are subtle yet needed for many people to function properly. It's up to Jagex (they are the experts aren't they ;)) to decide really and I think they didn't do a very good job with this update at all. They caved in under pressure which is not the image they want to send they high level players who praised the herblore update?
  5. It seems like a good idea, but I'm afraid after awhile it will end up being unpopular and just being one of those things some of the dedicated players actually still do.

  7. Forcing players to do anything, even if it's an opinion, is never a good idea. The problem is the polls aren't really advertised that well, heck the Machinima contest poll only got 95K votes and it was plastered all over the website. They need to find a way to get players more involved in polls and/or giving their opinion to actually make the correct decision. When it's going bad people will say so if not no one will say a word.
  8. Well first off this isn't fit for General Discussion, which means it either needs to be locked or moved to Questionaries considering this is a question thread. To answer your question...I'm logging off and preparing to wake up at 5:15am tomorrow <_< :wall:
  9. XP for 99(13,034,431)- XP for 87(3,972,294)= 9,071,137 XP from 87 to 99 (9,071,137)/XP per helm(33,000)= 274.883 So 275 helms for 99 str based on TrixStar's XP/helm.
  10. The majority of Free/Members polls only average 110K voters. Out of the however many millions of accounts Jagex says log on weekly that just isn't enough to make an honest assumption about the attitude of the players.
  11. how did you know this was planed for september? :? The J mod in question 10 clearly says September.
  12. WGS boosts all combat stats including summoning. It just stayed boosted instead of dropping back down; it happened to me too.
  13. The time you'll save by chinning at Ape Atoll is way more valuable the GP you might save by collecting the drops from mummies. Not to mention they are worse XP and might even make it so you pay more for 99.
  14. WGS

The herblore market right now is quite messed up due to the recent high level herblore update. You could either farm your own herbs which might take a decent amount of time or get to 63 and use the Greenman's ale from Yanille pub to boost your herblore level by one.
  15. I knew people get excited after a rune defender drop, but I never knew they got that excited.
  16. It's not so much gaining their attention as telling them what the majority actually think. Jagex is well aware of almost everything and has given a response about certain things. However, their view is skewed because the people who are like eh someone else will complain and don't post on the forums and support the anti-[insert topic] aren't helping the cause. If Jagex sees an anti-tricker thread with 10 supports along with 100 people saying "omg no i luv tricking i r gain muny" they aren't going to think that the majority dislike it. So play action is needed to say hey wait a minute more people actually are concerned about these topics than you may think. That is what I was trying to emphasize, but it seems I may have missed my mark there.
  17. Are you sure it gets you fming exp at Ivy? There really are no logs to burn from it. But I do agree that an adze is better than a d axe for wcing. He never said he was doing ivy; but no it doesn't give FM xp at ivy. Overall the adze is better unless your doing high level logs like yews and magics that you plan on selling. The little secondary title says "At Ivy" :-# I'd still recommend adze because it's extremely useful in future woodcutting, is basically free, and is a pickaxe too. :)
  18. Ivy is just like a regular tree except you won't get anything from it. It will be cut down to it's roots and then you'll have to move to a different section of ivy and it'll respawn after a period of time. The adze does not burn ivy as there is nothing to burn. It is probably the best thing to do if you plan to pay as little attention as possible. Turn the sound on and listen for your character to stop chopping then flip back and move to another section.
  19. You can disable email notifications so that you can easily find them on the forum but wont get notified every time someone posts something new. I don't believe there are any other bookmarking functions on the forum. Sadly no :(
  20. I've spent months just doing GWD and months without doing it. Not sure what I'd classify that as so I put Occasionally.
  21. I'd have to say Legends for sure. When I did that quest I was expecting an challenge, but I ended up blowing through it easy as pie.

  23. Why not spend the money on 92 firemaking and get an adze? It's the same as a d axe and even burns logs while you chop.
  24. I just thought of something.... West=Ardounge Old=Swept Away/Maggie I think Jagex is giving a nice vague hint like that to raise speculation when in fact it's just this years Halloween quest. for all we know it could just be some useless new update that gives gnomes 467 different animations That's exactly what I expect from "Upgrade Year"
  25. I think we're speculating a bit too much right now. I imagine it's going to be an information quest and maybe an add on the Curse of Arrav series. We'll just have to wait and see I guess.
