  1. Says the person who sent me flaming PM's and cried to a mod when I responded back. This makes you a double hypocrite. It's funny how you always initiate flamewars when you're the one who cries about them in the end. And at least I make relevant posts. How is being a hypocrite relevant to some people's actions causing innocent people to suffer? My point was that life isn't going to be fair in that context, so why should RS be an exception, but then you went on to call me a hypocrite. Now how about you answer my question. What is RWT a "scapegoat" for? PS: This whole debate is very suspicious in the first place. You guys sound like lawyers in a courtroom. You come in here with an unchangeable opinion then someone brings up a valid point but you avoid it and continue to say the same thing over and over again. So what is it that makes someone blindly defend a certain thing without using any type of rationalization skills? Someone who fights through emotion instead of logic? Maybe it's because you were a RWTer. It's the only possibility that seems to make sense at this point. I didn't send flaming PMs to you (apparently your PMs have possession over something), nor did I cry to any mod. Also, I don't initiate flamewars let alone cry about them in the end...you seriously misconstrue everything about me to make me like as foolish as possible and yourself a godsend on these forums. As for how it's relevent that you're a hypocrite? It's 100% relevent. You say that all real world traders are the scum of the game and that all real world traders are bad, blah blah blah...then turn around and say "Drugs. Some people can and do use those drugs responsibly, but the people who don't have ruined it for them". Now if I have to explain how that is hypocritical, there's no point in me even discussing on this topic as it would be pointless. Now to your question that you're so desparate for an answer - Real world trading is a scapegoat for all of Jagex's problems, giving them 'permission' to do anything they damn well please with their game as long as they just tack on "it's to win the battle against real world traders". But hey, I don't blame them - it worked/is working right? Time for a few questions of my own... - How is real world trading in its current state affecting the game so much that it calls for an entourage of efforts to stop it? - How is real world trading in its current state affecting Jagex, as a company? - If they're going to do everything they can to eliminate real world trading, why not follow the same path for the other rules? (I'm all in favor of quick chat only worlds if it means no more offensive language!) - When was the last time you interacted with a real world trader in-game? Hell, when was the last time you even saw one in-game? - If everyone's so worried about real world trading, why don't you get up in arms about the grand exchange? Jagex has already made it clear that they don't mind the existance of junk nor are they showing any signs of upgrading the GE mechanics, which is real good news for any real world trader wouldn't ya think? Especially when you consider the fact that I can transfer 5m+ to my friend in under a minute using the grand exchange. And for the record I'm not trying to defend Historik, so please don't associate his posts with me. Unless you want me to associate everyone that opposes me with Zierro and Magzar, in which case we'd have the Great Wall of Tif on our hands.
  2. That's honestly your main point? That's how life works!!! And how you think it's a "punishment" is beyond me. But even if it was, let's take a look at some things we have to deal with in life: 1. Drugs. Some people can and do use drugs responsibly, but the people who don't have ruined it for them. 2. Age limits. Some young people are mature and can handle things well such as voting, drinking, driving, going into office, etc. but the ones who don't handle them well ruin it for the rest. 3. Profiling. Cops and authority are trained to look for stereotypes which they assume will lead to a crime. "Group of teens playing their music loud? They must be having an illegal party! Let's get em boys!" Cops break in, finding out that the kids are doing nothing wrong. Kids don't get in trouble, but it's still unfair that they had to suffer just because there really are kids out there who play loud music while having illegal parties. You're such a hypocrite it's ridiculous.
  3. /brainwash Good job Jagex, you won. Yea, because they only did the changes to piss us off, right? :wall: What I was getting at was the fact that Jagex used real world trading as a scapegoat, and it appears as if you all bought into that.
  4. /brainwash Good job Jagex, you won.
  5. How does real world trading still going on make all those updates in vain? :wall: Do you see anymore macroers? Is Jagex still struggling with credit card issues? Offensive language affects the average player just as much as real world trading yet I bet if they made all worlds quick chat only, you'd all be a little tweaked right? Not yet. Plus offensive language doesn't devalue achievements. What's next? Murder affects the average person just as much as teasing does? Good job, that was my only post in a long time that used the wall emote, and I used it because the majority here doesn't seem to understand that Jagex already took care of the problem and need not do anything further. As for your real world trading is to offensive language as murder is to teasing analogy, nice exaggeration. In fact, I could easily argue that offensive language is worse than real world trading.
  6. I know you don't hold that stance, I just quoted you because it had relevence to my post. But the number of people who are against homosexuality then turn around and have sex for pleasure is so high it's [developmentally delayed]ed.

  8. People can't oppose gays on the basis of reproduction unless they also oppose ANY sex that is done without the intent to make babies (sex for pleasure) - which is a very, very small percentage of people.
  9. If you've been paying attention, you'd know that Bounty Hunter is a way to quite easily transfer money. If you've been paying attention, you'd know that people transferring money via Bounty Hunter isn't a problem.
  10. Cheefoo, why exactly should they do anything more to prevent real world trading? The bots are gone, they aren't having those credit card problems they used to have. So why do anything more?
  11. I agree with you up to a certain level, but I mean common on this guy is distorting the facts massively. The statement that runescape has deteriorated is bull, removing RWT stopped the deterioration. This guy sounds like a pro-auto, pro-RWT nutcase. I preferred the game the way it was prior to the anti rwt updates, as did many others. So while it was necessary (they say) to make those changes, it was still a deterioration to the game. Another example of Jagex's intelligence - they finally recognized that it was easy to transfer wealth with dragonstones, so in order to 'fix' it they made the player stock stores obsolete. "Let's just place a 1:1 tokkull to gp ratio for prices in the player stock store, so if someone sells an obsidian shield another player can merrily purchase it for 280k tokkul. Who would want an onyx for that price anyways?" ... "You sir are a genius."
  12. I hope you're being sarcastic because you could not have brought up any worse threads than those three. Judging from the thread you just posted I doubt that's the case, however. You just need to learn how to use your [yt]eW4tY8mQ_1o[/yt]

Those aren't really arguments... Most of my arguments involve Jard Y Dooku and take place on skype and they usually end with him going off on a rant about something completely dumb - like nonexistent countries.
  14. Summoning has been out for over a year now and the AI of familiars is still [developmentally delayed]ed. Sure they're dedicating this year to game improvements, but a lot of the changes they'll make probably should've been done a long time ago as well as the probability that they'll still miss several. It's become obvious over the years that quality is not their top priority, or even second...or third... Don't normal level 95s have like 70 70 70 stats? That would take like a week. For someone hardcore no-lifing it maybe.
  15. And as I've already said, that's on par with making all worlds quick chat only "so that players that use offensive language can't do it as easily anymore".
  16. Well yeah, quite kills a thread. Have to agree on that. Though in this case it's a very reasonable argument. If I felt the way the topicstarter displays his feelings, I would in no way still play this game. I am 100% anti jagex yet I still play the game. Why? Because I don't have the financial resources to make a better game myself. Also, it does have its good aspects but at the same time they [jagex] display an extreme lack of logic. Hell, off the top of my head I can think of a dozen changes that could/should be made to the game that don't take a genius to figure out. The thing about that last statement is that it doesen't take a genious to figure them out, but it takes somebody smarter to realise the full effects of them. We can all think of some things that jagex did in a way we dislike, but the thing is, we don't think of them full enough. Jagex will have a team of at least 5 people i'd beleive doing feasability (sp?) checks to all updates, going through each and every possible outcome that could come from it. We may think an idea we have that they should have done differently is good, but im betting they also thought of it, and dismissed it due to something else negative coming from it. No, I'm saying I can think of several things off the top of my head that could/should be changed AND understand the full effects of them. The most recent thing that's been bothering me is the way they calculate the xp rewards for soul wars. Does it make sense for someone with 1 attack 1 strength 1 range and 1 magic to be able to gain 75k+ xp an hour in a melee skill? Does it make sense for a level 3 to be able to train slayer at a rate of 5k+ xp an hour? The rewards should not be calculated based on what level you are in that skill, aside from magic and range. The melee skills, hitpoints, and slayer should all factor in attack, strength, defense, and summoning with the most weight being put on attack and strength. But no, that would require time and effort as well as thinking, wouldn't it?

  18. He makes a very valid point though, the original anti-rwt updates were done to combat botting and credit card issues - which were a large problem that affected Jagex and/or players significantly. This, on the other hand, is being done to combat real world trading (since botting and credit card issues are no longer a problem) - which is affecting hardly anyone. If they dramatically change bh to make it completely rwt-proof, it'll be on par with making all worlds quick chat only to prevent the possibility of offensive language.
  19. And exactly how many of the threads here are Runescape related? Debate Club forum is for Runescape related debates.
  20. Jesus Christ Reb, we were just making a quick point that your quick point was an inaccurate point.

Uh, cologne isn't the same thing as aftershave. Aftershave is the stuff you put on after you shave, cologne is the stuff you can put on anytime.
  22. His point was that 90% of the traits apply to 90% of tifers, which they don't.
  23. As of writing this I want to stuff a pillow on my roommate's head. Whenever he's asleep he freaking sounds like he's dying, causing me to lose sleep. Thanks [insert college I'm attending], appreciate you rooming me with him.
  24. Iron Titan pouch made myself.
  25. I was getting at the idea of monthly visits to Australia costing money, a pretty good amount of money.
