  1. Companies that place professionalism as a priority will either not dive into their worker's social lives, or if they do they won't hold anything against them provided the employee remains professional while at work. Considering my high school created fake accounts in an attempt to spy on the students so they could see who was doing what (they were planning on handing out punishments too), I have no problem saying that my high school was very unprofessional. Not only were they unprofessional, they were also extremely stupid....My high school had 66, yes 66, students in all of grades 9-12 and they honestly expected us not to realize there wasn't a Bob Johnson (I forget the name) that attended our school?
  2. Am I the only one confused about how he's planning to try and afford monthly visits to another continent, yet there's absolutely no way possible he could try just moving there? Granted I understand there's more variables than being able to afford it which is preventing you, but still...monthly visits to Australia?
  3. For those saying "ban those who used it in a malicious manner, temp ban others who used it" etc, how are they gonna know who used it with the intent to be silly versus those who were intending to make others lose stuff? Obviously they'll have several ways to narrow it down, but in the end there's still going to be some gray area which will undoubtedly leave people a little upset. So please, for everyone's sake stop suggesting an over simplified solution while acting like it's the right one. Hell, I wouldn't mind/be surprised if they just checked to see who used the code without crashing themselves (because then they know that player knowingly abused the bug) and just banned them.
  4. The reason why we want a rollback is because we lost our items unfairly, how would you like it if you went to God Wars or some other boss and suddenly, U get kicked off and were killed and lost say... 30m+? U would be unhappy about it too. Yes I'd be unhappy, but guess what? I wouldn't cry for my stuff back because I'd only bring stuff I'm WILLING to lose...which is what they tell you to do. "DON'T BRING ITEMS YOU AREN'T WILLING TO LOSE!!!" So if you aren't willing to lose it you didn't heed the warnings, if you were willing to lose it then why do you need a rollback?
  5. Uhm, this is bug abuse. Not some sort of predetermined risk. Abuse should be punished. I don't understand how you can justify scum that deliberately abuse holes in the game which damages other players. Losing stuff is part of the game, in PvP, but NOT like this. I never said the bug abusers shouldn't be punished, I said those who lost items shouldn't be given a rollback. So I don't really get how you think I'm trying to "justify scum".
  6. For everyone saying there should be a rollback, do you realize how many annoying warnings they give you before you enter any semi dangerous area? They tell you not to risk anything you aren't willing to lose before entering a pvp world, bh, god wars dungeon, cb, etc. - and since nobody is losing much outside of those areas I don't see why they would do a rollback. People KNOWINGLY risked their stuff, with the understanding they could lose it. So when they do lose it, we rollback? Doesn't make sense to me.
  7. Well for your sake I hope you aren't very critical on movie genres. As a pointer I suggest you not act so stubborn on a date. Also I'd like to add that just because you can't agree doesn't mean you can't date. My girlfriend and I in the 2 years we've known each other have never EVER agreed on anything. But that's half the fun. I'm not that critical on movies, just the bad ones. ;) Honestly though I don't plan on dating anytime soon, but when I do I'll try and find someone with fairly similar interests and personality. And no offense, but anyone who says movies are great first dates, I probably won't take their advice into much consideration.
  8. Um, if you want people to test killing 100 without killing anything in between, and you feel it'll contaminate the results if they do...may I ask what the point of this experiment is then? Because you're basically saying "This experiment proves whether or not a ring of wealth is usefull if you kill only a particular monster without killing anything else, if you kill anything else we aren't sure if it helps or not".
  9. Alls I know is the ring of wealth probably isn't beneficial at God Wars. Reasons being: - Hilts and secondary drops (bandos armour, sara sword, etc) probably aren't even on the 'rare wheel' (hilts may be but I'm fairly certain row doesn't affect drop rate of the secondary drops). - Lootshare negates the ring of wealth regardless. I have about 1200 Commander Zilyana kills logged, but unfortunately I didn't note what ring I was using (alternated between row and archers). Of the 4 hilts and 12 swords I got, I know the hilts were split evenly for each ring, but not sure about the swords...was either 6 and 6 or 5 and 7, but it was fairly even as well.
  10. I just don't know if I could see myself dating someone who has a completely different taste in movies. :?

  12. Heh, kinda interesting to see this here when just last night my cousin told me that if he were ever to commit suicide he'd be happy doing so. Sure it's a good story, especially for moms (my mom would probably cry for an hour over it), but the fact is it's not going to change anyone's lifestyle so that's all it'll stay - a good story.
  13. That's Wyoming, which has even less people than South Dakota but the reason our driving age is lower is because of all the agriculture. Biggest city here, Sioux Falls, has 100,000+ people but it's really easy to drive in.
  14. I've never understood this about taking a date to the movies...why bother with a movie unless you both want to see it? I mean, I can understand that further into a more serious relationship, but one just starting?
  15. Now wtf are you talking about? Where can you be 14 and have a drivers license? Even a restricted one? And how old are you now, presuming you have driven a lot. South Dakota, only place on the planet where it's possible at under 15. Personally I think it's mad though, I'd never allowed myself to drive at age 14, it's just not the right age for driving. It's a complete recipe for disaster. Hell, there are kids that age whose legs can barely reach the accelerator, not to mention insecurity issues/driving when angry or under strong emotional influences etc. I'm 20 now, and yeah I've driven hundreds of thousands of miles in my lifetime (longest I drove in one day was about a thousand miles). As for driving at 14, it's not as bad as you'd think when you consider the fact that there's never any heavy traffic. The number of accidents involving kids ages 14-16 is a lot lower than you'd think. I'd say the only bad thing about driving in South Dakota is the fact that you get no practice at driving in big cities let alone big cities during rush hour. Rule of thumb for South Dakota - guys are better drivers than girls. I have a female friend who's been involved in 4 accidents, 3 of which were with parked cars. #-o
  16. If real world trading is still very much alive, and all the bots are gone, how is real world trading the root of the problem? If one's going to real world trade, wouldn't they try and make as much money an hour as possible in-game (which fyi isn't macroing)? Because that's directly related to more real life money for them.
  17. I'm guessing it means something like forge it or fake it...basically just record you've driven 78 hours even though you really haven't right?
  18. Yeah since most of these are fake how about a real one from me... [hide=long story]In '06 work scheduled me for a full day (8am-9pm) Thanksgiving day. It didn't bother me too much since I usually just eat and watch the football games anyways on Thanksgiving and I figured since I worked all this holiday I'd get it easier on Christmas (they're suppose to rotate the holidays for the employees)...turns out they scheduled me for Christmas eve night and Christmas day morning, I go to mass Christmas eve night then have oyster soup at my grandma's after and Christmas morning is when we do all the opening gifts and the big extended family gathering. I was rather peeved but hey, if anyone can deal with it it's me since I have a very high tolerance for bullsh** like that. So I get off work at around 4pm, by then everything's done so I just go home and enjoy the company of a few of my close cousins who came over (yay something positive). My mom's side of the family's Christmas gathering was a few days later. Gotta see a lot of people and didn't have to work so that was good, but when it came to the white elephant gift exchange everyone got at least something that could be passed off as a gift, I got an old people diaper. A diaper huh? Personally I really don't want anything for Christmas so I'm not upset that I didn't get anything useful, but I just thought it was a bit ironic that I got a diaper to finish off that horrid year of holidays. Few days later from that ^ comes New Years, a new year full of new holidays. We had a basketball tournament that day which I was looking forward to (love basketball), so I was optimistic - that is until I threw up 3 times in a row, then a few more times later that day, then a few more later that night totalling for 12 times on New Years day. So there I was at college in '07, getting ready for Christmas break, and I started thinking about how the past Christmas was pretty much a bummer. As I was getting ready to leave I was joking around with a lot of my friends and they were sayin stuff like "hey man don't get a diaper again" and I was like "haha yeah, at least this year things pretty much have to be better right?". I make the 350 mile drive home, unpack my stuff and head up to my friend's house where my brother was. We stayed there late into the night having a good time, and as we were walking to our cars my bro tells me that my dad's thinkin he wants a divorce from my mom....I was pretty much in shock the whole 15 minute ride home since my parents had been together 20+ years and I know they weren't the perfect couple but definitely far from divorce (or so it seemed). I get home, my dad's waiting to talk to me in the garage and at 2 in the morning tells me he's never loved my mom, has had multiple affairs throughout their marriage, and is moving out. Oh, and Merry Chrstmas. This previous Christmas I was honestly pretty nervous about seeing as how they just kept getting worse and worse, and starting it off with a $130 speeding ticket on the way home didn't reassure me any, but in the end this Christmas ended up being a fairly normal one.[/hide] Sorry 'bout the length, didn't realize it'd be that long. Edit - I'll put it in hide tags I guess. Edit again - Almost forgot...FML. :P Not really tho since I like my life. :
  19. I don't fancy myself as the one good person who has sympathy for the kid, in fact I honestly don't care what happens to the kid. Also you don't have to dumb down anything for me, I know exactly what you're trying to say but the fact will never change that real world trader =/= macroer. Jagex could've just as easily come up with a solution to macroing and people that used stolen credit cards then left real world trading the way it was (meaning keep an eye out for those doing it and ban the ones that get caught) and everyone would've been much happier.
  20. I didn't realize we were calling lions ducks now. My bad, I'll get off my moral high horse, or is it a moral high kitty cat now? How about instead of sarcasm, you respond to the points I raised? I did respond to the points you raised, you're calling macroers real world traders when the fact is macroing =/= real world trading (otherwise why are they 2 separate rules?). I'm still standing by my statement of real world trading doesn't have consequences, macroing and using fake credit cards does. Also, how the hell am I even close to being on a moral high horse? I'm here trying to defend rule breakers, whereas you guys are the ones insinuating how much better you are than rule breakers and that all rule breakers are bad regardless (so if anything, YOU are on a moral high horse). And Nick, yes I did read your post ... I just disagree with you. People buying in-game wealth with real world money doesn't affect you, macroers affect you.
  21. I didn't realize we were calling lions ducks now. My bad, I'll get off my moral high horse, or is it a moral high kitty cat now?
  22. 2 players each do a level 3 clue, one gets junk and the other gets a double 3rd age clue. 2 players each do a level 3 clue, they both get junk but one of them is a real world trader and buys a couple pieces of 3rd age. There's a great deal of luck involved in this game, and that alone means that things aren't going to be fair when it comes to making money. I have a friend who spends every minute he plays trying to make money so he can someday afford an sgs, while I sit on my hoard of wealth (compared to him) that I obtained in a fairly short period of time by getting lucky with monster drops. I can honestly say he's 'worked' harder for his 30m or so than I have for my near 1 billion, so how is that fair? I will agree that there is something wrong with real world trading for skills versus wealth, but even with that there's always going to be players who have more time in a day to play than you do.
  23. Just because they don't affect me doesn't mean that they're "okay." Him being scammed doesn't affect me, so should I not feel sorry for him? Should we just not care when people break the rules, simply because their actions do not directly affect us? The difference between someone getting scammed and someone real world trading is there is a negative outcome in the scamming equation, there isn't one in the real world trading equation. I'm not saying we shouldn't show compassion towards the guy who gets mugged on his way home, but rather we shouldn't get all riled up about the person speeding on an open road - let alone laugh at the guy who got mugged because he was speeding on an open road. To Pire666: Yes, I have a great understanding for how this game works...and it's evident you can't say the same.
  24. Likewise, I'm surprised at the amount of people condemning Timmy for his actions when the fact of the matter is they didn't affect any of you in any way. If your opinion is that it's players like Timmy who 'destroyed' the game, well then I'm sure's hell glad I don't share your opinions.
  25. People who have to drive 350 miles on one of the most boring stretches of road in the entire nation. Why would anyone not use cruise if they had it available to them?
