If someone attempts to swear and it's censored, are they muted? If someone attempts to multi-log and fails, are they banned for multiple logging in? As for the bank robbery situation, unless they did something illegal - they wouldn't be punished. Chances are however, that they would either be holding people hostage at gunpoint while they attempt to rob it, or be doing something else that's illegal. Now for a more relevent example: If you attempt to speed, but you never exceed the speed limit - you cannot and will not be punished for it.

G P Kid, it doesn't even sound like you, one who got banned for the bug, knows how the bug worked. Ironic. EVERYONE who got multiple points kept getting the message that they had already spotted it. That was the bug, even though it told them they had spotted it - the game still kept giving them points. So if your evidence that you didn't get points is "it gave me the 'you've already spotted this penguin' message", how do you expect us to believe you? Having said that, I do agree with your view of jagex more than all these people going on about "yeah! it's time we start trusting them!" Fact is they're a company, so they're more focused on the bottom line than anything else and that won't change anytime soon. I'll start trusting them when they start doing what they should for the game.

I break the law on a daily basis...I have a habit of not abiding by traffic laws. Speed limits and stop signs mostly tho. As for other things that are just rules and not laws, depends really...but I'll never make a decision based solely off "is it against the rules/law or not?".

That's still barely over 100 degrees F, which is semi common during the summer here in the Midwest (of the U.S.). But still, this thread is acting like 46*C is unheard of...and considering it's Australia I'd guess it would be somewhat common. :\ Temps around here honestly range from -25*F to 110*F and it's not uncommon for there to be 50 degree differences from one day to the next.

Yeah, guess what...they could do that for ANY skill really. RuneScape isn't known for it's intricate and complex skills. I don't see why people get all fussed over the idea of sailing being a skill.

Um, how hot is 46*C exactly? Because a converter I found on google says 114.6*F, which isn't THAT hot...especially when you consider they were playing tennis at the Australian Open with courtside temps upwards of 140*F/60*C. And record highs of 30*C in the UK? What?

It's somewhat possible, but in the end they would be stuck with a crapton of junk seeing as how it would reach a price where people would decide it's more worth it to collect/gather/obtain on their own versus buying it via the GE. Off the top of my head, the only items that I can think of that it would work for are discontinued items and rare clue items. Also, now that I think about it, that's essentially what happened with the animal masks...except it wasn't a lone clan doing that, it was everyone.

Yeah, that's kind of why it's obvious that Runescape's GE would fail in real world practice. It only takes completed transactions into account, that's a fact. Also, they may have it adjust in price based on whether or not the percentage of completed transactions was above or below the market price - meaning if 1-2 pies sold at max and only 1-2 pies sold that die, then 100% of the completed transactions were above market price and thus causing an increase in price. If you honestly think JaGex manually adjusts price ceilings on a day to day basis then you are pretty thick. Yes there are price cielings on items in the GE, but that is only for items that are sold in shops and the ceiling is the shop price(this has been known for a long time).

Just like how it's not fair that Bill Gates gets to invest billions of dollars, while I only get to invest hundreds, right? Those players earned enough money to put them at a point where they can use that money to make even more faster. That's typically how things work, the more money you have - the more money you can make.

If companies fired every employee whose update caused a bug, there would be nobody in video games. Kiddies like yourself who have no idea how to code anything more complicated than a TI-83 calculator shouldn't be giving advice on how to run a business. Note how I started the very next thing I said with "But in all seriousness" implying that I wasn't being serious with what I had said prior to it. I care. I went up quite a few ranks in skills thanks to this. Or down....The number dropped. But I do agree, Red Jude or whatever getting banned or not, I won't be losing any sleep on it. Typically you lose ranks on a daily basis to other players playing the game, so this isn't really much different. If someone grinds all day to get the xp or abuses a bug to get the xp, the end result is the same. I disagree, I think cheating in school needs to be brought to someone's attention. This isn't like Runescape, this has real world implications. Ok yes, cheating can have real world implications - such as someone who cheated for good grades could get accepted to a hard to get into college while someone who was honest will be rejected due to slightly worse grades. But for the most part, the cheating that happens throughout elementary/middle/high school is menial and amounts to no harm outside of the one who cheated. Hell, even if for example I were to lose out on an internship or something to someone who I knew was a cheater it wouldn't bother me all that much. I would simply look at it as that person ran the risk of getting caught and possibly messing up a large part of his life, and in the end it paid off. I could take that same risk, but I trust everything will work out in the end.

Look, all I'm trying to say is that unless we have a reason to care what happens to those who bug abused - why should we? And so far I have yet to hear a single legitimate reason as to why anyone should care. Also, to be honest I wouldn't mind if they took out that rule (as it's horribly worded to begin with) because that would probably lead to them doing better quality assurance and making sure there aren't as many bugs as what we get nowadays. As a player I don't care about real world traders because they don't affect me. As a player I don't care about bug abusers because they don't affect me (unless it's a bug that allows them to make me lose items or permanently change my stats). As a player I don't care about people who use 'naughty' language because none of it offends me. However, I can see why JaGex as a company does not like any three of those and consequently has rules against them.

Just say something like "Look, I'm really flattered and all but you're really not my type of anima-girl...you're not my type of girl." That should do the trick. ;)

Because some people (aka myself) don't see a reason to get skills up. The only skill I'd even consider spending money on atm is prayer, but that would mean I'd have to get construction up for gilded altar and that just seems boring to me.

The most 'dirty' xp someone could've gotten without being perm banned is 613,800. Also, I'm 'disgusted' at how many people sincerely care. Fact of the matter is, there's plenty of players who aren't banned that have used a macro or real world traded - and the ironic part is that you don't care about those players. Wanna know why? Because it doesn't affect you in any way. You don't know they broke the rules, to you they are just another player and if/when the time comes that JaGex does ban them, justice will be served...to them, not to the rest of us.

Enya has some pretty decent ambient songs, Watermark and Lothlorien being my two favorite (of her songs that don't have vocals). If you are a fan of the violin/fiddle then I suggest Mairead Nesbitt, she's amazing. Lastly, Gravity of Love by Enigma is a song that seems to go with rain/storms at night perfectly. Anytime it's dark out and it starts raining I'll just play that song regardless of what I'm doing.

Thank you Rollyboy, I was about ready to cry if nobody had mentioned Bone Thugs N Harmony. I'm more of a fan of the older style rap versus this new generation rap, but then again I don't really open myself up to any other rap than what I already know I like (hard to go in depth into a single genre when you listen to every genre :wall: ) Bone Thugs Tupac Notorious B.I.G. Eminem Fyi, saying rap = hip hop is like saying coffee = espresso.

I feel the need to clarify something about Quantum of Solace...that movie was made during the writers' strike, so obviously it's going to be lacking in the dialogue. With that being said, I feel they did a pretty good job with working around that. I'm an expert on this... Accumulated about 15-20m on my f2p tank mage via pking then decided I wanted to make a p2p pure with a friend, back to zero. Made a couple/few hundred million over the course of probably a year and a half before getting hacked by my neighbor (used my lil sister to get the answers to recoveries >.<), back to zero. Within 4-5 months I was at a new high in wealth (~500m) through various methods - staking/pking mostly - and It was like that for a long while so I was happy. Then just several days before they removed unrestricted trading the same kid hacked me again (not exactly sure how he did it that time...so I blame JaGex :P), back to zero. Then from mid December of '07 to early February of '08 I just spent a lot of time at GWD and peaked at ~750m. I hope this money will stay with me, but if I do end up losing it all again I'll just follow the pattern and make over a billion gp :D. P.S. - Why isn't play on another account an option? I'm sure a lot would do that (as their break) - at least I would, my lil pure is fun.

If it's an issue like that, why are you texting/chatting online versus talking in person or at least talking on the phone? It's SOOO easy to misinterpret things via reading it versus hearing it.
