  1. Sorry, but this gave me a pretty good laugh.
  2. I really don't see how buying out opulent tables before anyone else gets a chance to would benefit anyone....because it's not like they can buy them at 5.5k each and sell for 1.2m each. :wall: The only way this could profit for them is if they somehow managed to get the prices of opulent tables up over 1.2 mill, and from 5.5k it's going to take a hell of a long time. On the other hand, I could see a group of merchants trying to raise the price of a certain flatpack up over it's cost of materials and then profiting that way... Personally I don't think Jagex put much foresight into this reward.
  3. It just so happens that back around the time MM was started, the look a lot of the original/better known pures/pkers was black skin with white medium hair, such as depicted by the right one (of the two up front) in the picture.
  4. Let's pretend NPCs have defense levels for the sake of my post... We have 3 players: Bob - 80 attack, 40 strength Bill - 60 attack, 60 strength Brad - 40 attack, 80 strength Let's assume we are in F2P and each is wielding a rune scimitar. Against an NPC with 80 defense, Bob would yield the most xp per hour. Against an NPC with 20 defense, Bill would probably yield the most xp per hour. Against an NPC with 1 defense, Brad would yield the most xp per hour. Hate to break it to you, but it's all circumstantial...I really don't see what point this has at all because it's not like you're going to be able to correlate accuracy on rock crabs at certain attack levels to accuracy on say gorillas at certain attack levels. Edit - In order to find any useful info, we'd have to know what each NPCs defense bonuses are....which we don't and as of yet there's no way to find out.
  5. March '04 - Runecrafting Jan '05 - Slayer July '05 - Farming May '06 - Construction Nov '06 - Hunter Jan '08 - Summoning So you can see there was only one stretch of greater than a year with no new skill released...a new skill is probably coming by March '09, perhaps sooner. Personally I don't think sailing will be the next skill, it may be incorporated into the skill but not the skill itself. Archaeology? Maybe, but I don't really see that giving them many options to diversify the skill. Who knows, maybe they'll throw us a curveball and give the ever-anticipated Negotiating skill! :
  6. Those people are obviously lying.
  7. For those saying "it's just a word" or "I don't consider it offensive because I know I'm not one"...well the same can be said for any word.
  8. There are some cases though where it is your responsibility to make sure it is a secured connection and in failing to do so you are establishing it as a public connection. As far as I know there isn't a national law about it here in the U.S.
  9. I wouldn't have a problem with people suggesting the moderator wasn't being serious, and yes - the action of saying he steals someone's bandwidth is an in-game action...which there is no rule against.
  10. Ok, this is frustrating me...you have no basis to call him a real-life criminal any more than I do calling Jeff Dunham a real-life serial killer (he's a ventriloquist/comedian who says "I kill you!" a lot with one of his dummies). JaGex can only take IN-GAME action against accounts for wrongs which are done IN-GAME - so logic tells us that yes, people should be reported and banned for something as harmless as offensive language, and not for actual real-life theft.
  11. 1) You're not allowed to say stuff like "Selling whips 1M each" if you AREN'T selling whips for 1M each. That's always been against the rules. 2) If you're trying to hide what you're doing then you're basically admitting it's against the rules, and you already said you're basically doing it until someone gets caught. Otherwise, great logic. -.-
  12. And this wouldn't be a forced thing, so you could continue your lonely ways.
  13. Are you serious? It's our duty to report crimes that we know of and have evidence of, and someone saying something on RuneScape is NOT evidence. This has little to nothing to do with ethics, this has more to do with logic. It is not logical for Jagex to instruct player mods to report real life crimes, it is not logical for Jagex to ban accounts as a result of the player committing a real life crime, is it logical for you to think we're all morally corrupt when we say that the p-mod is an idiot for reporting something he can't even prove? No, no, and no. "I am going to kill you. I am going to go to your house right now, and slice you to pieces then feed you to your dogs. Unless of course you give me a sum of money, then I may be willing to spare your life. :)" --- Zomg call the police and make sure they send the swat!!! Wait, what's this? he's referring to killing him in the game and going to his poh that has hounds in the dungeon? Oops...sorry for wasting your time mr police officer. Even if they consider it to be a serious threat, they can't go directly to the authorities...they would have to first contact the player(s) in question and make sure they weren't just joking around.
  14. A select group of players buying out an item without the intent of using said item and simply waiting for it to rise in price is in fact price manipulation. Also, how is junk trading price manipulation? Edit - I guess I should say forcing the price to rise versus waiting for it to rise to distinguish between merchants and price manipulators.
  15. 99 summoning cannot be achieved at level 3 combat. actually with much money and exp lamps its not a problem ... Actually, how about the fact that Summoning raises your combat level?... :-# Before you try sounding like a know-it-all, think about the different scenarios. If you go onto an f2p world, you still have 99 summoning but without the combat levels.
  16. Seriously, nobody bother responding/quoting to Jard's post...if you do that just says you're as much of an idiot as he is.
  17. So it is possible to get the torn god pages from vyre burning, correct? And the KB doesn't mention that you can get torn god pages from vyre burning, correct? Seems to me they simply had better things to do than update that particular section of the KB. Also, from my experience I've found that if there's reason to doubt Jagex's word, they're usually wrong.
  18. Um, for those who are saying that getting a 99 just for the skill cape is stupid or whatever, answer this...how is it any different than someone earning enough money to buy a partyhat, santa hat, halloween mask, most 3rd age items, etc. They are training a skill to get a particular cape that they think looks nice, just like other players do repetitive tasks to earn money for a specific item that they want to wear because they think it looks nice. Seriously, if you're gonna bash someone for "just getting a 99 for a cape" then bash me for "just making money for a white partyhat".
  19. Encouraging others to break the rules, and wanting to break the rules yourself, nice. Every minigame has bugs like this when they first come out, we don't need a new thread for every little bug. So what, you got useless items out of the game, good job, now where is the discussion value in this except for trying to find more bugs and trying to exploit them to get them out of the game. I am wondering why a mod has not locked this, when is discussion on how to exploit bugs allowed on these forums. Wow take the corncob out would ya? People have already stated that the items don't have the bonuses and are essentially useless, so 3 Hit U basically said "If someone finds a way to get maxed skills instantly, tell me. :D", aka it's not gonna happen. Also, discussion on how to exploit bugs isn't allowed on these forums, which is probably why nobody's discussed how to exploit the bug.
  20. ~ A level 3/15 with 99 summoning is easily possible. ~ Getting 1 mill points in SC even now after they "fixed" it is possible. ~ Killing the Corporeal Beast without prayer is easily possible. Here's a nice challenge that I like: ~ Soloing all 4 GWD bosses in a single trip without help from friends.
  21. Class 5 dagger would be the most useful. ;)
  22. I find this thread title to be very offensive. I know plenty of dumb people and I don't think they would appreciate you using the word "dumb" in a negative way.
  23. Please explain why that sounds like a stupid thread (Or are you saying you've been there and it actually is a stupid thread?), because it sounds like it has potential. Because mods are always named "Mod" and then their real life name... like Mod Paul. Usually yes, but not always. Unless you really think it's just a coincidence that the only person on earth named Animal works for Jagex. There are several other j-mods that don't use their rl name as well.
  24. ever heard of went? If you can't understand what that player is trying to say it doesn't say much for your intelligence. Also, I'm not trying to single you out, just using you as a relevant example on this thread...there's a lot of tip.it users who see a topic with poor grammar/spelling and automatically go "How can I respond to something I can't even read? Learn to spell and use punctuation then come back." and quite frankly it's more annoying than the poor spelling/grammar itself because they are deliberately being condescending because they feel superior to the topic creator. I have yet to come across a post where I couldn't understand what the person was trying to say here on tip.it and for the most part RSOF as well.
  25. Um, there's 2 shields that have a street price below the market price, and the other 2 have a street price that's way above the market price...
