Could you clarify something for me? I'm a bit confused when you say archaelogists....are you referring to human archaelogists, or future archaelogists of a different race/species?

Peer pressure
I fell victim to peer pressure, as I'm in college right now. :( Aside from that though, plenty of people have asked me to drink, smoke, etc - even by my grandma - but it's just not something that I want or need in my life. I will say this though, I'm a sucker for peer pressure when it comes to my friends telling me to do something that they think would be hilarious (usually at my expense), like pouring water on my crotch then walking around the mall like that...you know, harmless things.

Help put an end to junk trading
I tried to stupify it down to your level, but it looks like I'll have to go even lower. Attempt number two... You have a rare gem and a thousand clothes pins, the real life GE values the gem at $100,000 and the clothes pins at $1,000 each. You have 1 of two options.... 1) You sell the gem on the real life GE for $105,000 and are left with $105,000 cash and 1,000 clothes pins - with that $105,000 you purchase a very nice car. Total value in the end - $1,105,000. 2) You trade the gem alongside the clothes pins to someone for $1,100,000 cash. Then using that cash, you are able to purchase a very nice car, a house, a boat, and all the food you want. Total value in the end - $1,100,000. Now to repeat myself, you are arguing that option 1 is better since you are left with $5,000 more in the end according to the GE prices....which is (another repeat coming up) RIDICULOUS. Scenario 1 is selling a divine sigil in the ge, scenario 2 is junk trading the divine sigil...you are telling us that scenario 1 is the better choice so we are telling you that you're argument is very, very dumb.

Muslim Radicalism - Good or Bad? (Justified or Not)
I never said ignorance makes them innocent. What I said that them killing someone doesn't make them a bad person, especially when they're merely doing what they've been taught to do their entire life. There is a difference between someone knowing the difference between A and B then proceeding to choose B versus someone who's only ever known B and is therefore forced (in a sense) to choose B. How people act is mainly derived from how they were raised, so put that suicide bomber in a different situation - say he grew up in a small rural community in the United States - and I can almost guarantee you he's not going to turn out to be a suicide bomber. Also, I'd be willing to wager that in a lot of those kinds of situations (suicide bombings and the likes), the person isn't doing it out of hatred for those he's killing, but out of a desire for what they believe is a greater good.

Magzar....in real life, would you rather have a car and a thousand clothes pins that the government tells you are worth a thousand dollars each - or a car, a nicely furnished house, a boat, and all the food you want? The first option is worth let's say $1,050,000 while the second option is only worth $1,000,000. Now keep in mind, these clothes pins can't be used as currency and literally nobody is willing to do business with you if you only offer clothes pins alone. You're entire argument is that the first option is better than the second...which is RIDICULOUS. Do you profit from junk trades in terms of how much the game tells you all your stuff is worth? Nope. Does anybody care about how much the game tells us our stuff is worth when it's wrong? Nope.

Muslim Radicalism - Good or Bad? (Justified or Not)
If a person is taught and raised their entire life that killing the enemy is one of the best things you can do, and that the enemy is anyone not of the same religion...can we honestly blame that individual for their actions? The simple, and only correct answer, is no. Now don't get me wrong, I don't KNOW how suicide bombers are brought up as kids and what is all taught to them, but I can say with a fair amount of certainty that they aren't all just insane people. Chances are it's how they were brought up, and likewise they will raise their kids in the same way and the cycle just repeats itself. So you can say that what they're doing isn't justified no matter what, but they'll just turn around and say that purposely killing a cow when it's not absolutely necessary (person who kills it is starving etc) isn't justified no matter what. It's all subjective, you saying that they aren't justified or that they're bad people does not make it a fact. Also, while I wish it didn't happen, truth is it does and probably will for a very long time in the future ahead, but that doesn't mean I'm going to go around proclaiming that they are horrible people and are acting immorally - because I for one am of the opinion that those who try to be moral police are extremely ignorant.

Guy/girl for a day?
...raining? What? Oh, and as a guy you get MORE sexual and sexist remarks, as sex jokes are told to guys alot more. Ever seen Mean Girls? :twss: Clever  As for what I'd do as a female for a day, not sure really...probably try and get rid of all the drama in my friends' lives since they don't listen to my advice as a guy.

The reason I said you were a brick wall is because you've ignored any post that clearly explains why your stance is ridiculous. By the way, my math skills are very capable...In fact I'll either have a minor or double major in Mathematics by the time I graduate.

Bedman, you're talking to a brick wall. Magzar, you're the brick wall. Can we just let this thread die already?

Is God real post your thoughts!
I couldn't be bothered to read through 150+ pages, but I have read through the previous 3-4 pages and here's my insight on this topic. God, as well as religion, have brought about many positive things in this world - and while many argue that religion has brought about many bad things as well (crusades, corruption in the church, etc), that's similar to saying marriage brings about many bad things (couples fight, people have murdered their spouses, divorce can bring out the worst of people, etc). Personally, I'm of the opinion that religion/God/marriage do not bring about those bad things, people do. Going back to the positives, religion/God have brought hope to many people for thousands of years and at that point it doesn't matter if God is real or not, or if religion is all one big fake. Hell, the odds are that religion was conceived to bring hope to people during a rought time. While I'm a confirmed Catholic, I don't believe that any single religion is right. Now, while I choose to not associate myself with any religion (again, I'm a confirmed Catholic, but I don't consider myself to be Catholic), I do believe that there is a higher power/being than us humans...well more like 70% hope that there is and 30% believe there is...because if the best our universe has to offer is us, well then the way I see it we're f-ed. So again, it's essentially irrelevent whether or not God exists because for a lot of people it's no different than simply hoping you have a good day tomorrow. You can't go around saying that if God doesn't exist (which there's a very good chance is the case) then it's a waste of time to pray or whatever, because when you say that you are defining what's a waste of time and what isn't for other people...which is just plain wrong. P.S. - I've been capitalizing God not because I'm referring to the Christian God, but because I am referring to a lone higher being/power and I reserve the uncapitalized god for specific gods that are gods of something...like the god of water or something. P.P.S. - In a rush so I may revise it after I get back.

Help put an end to junk trading
No. Most everyone is agreeing that the GRAND EXCHANGE is a flawed system and that junk trading is a partial SOLUTION to said problem. Side note - Price floors on the GE are the biggest jokes ever. Soma already pointed out how getting rid of them would simply allow the economy to do it's job and nothing will get exploited. So I'll repeat, junk trading becomes fixed once the grand exchange becomes fixed (which in all honesty would have a better chance of ever happening if jagex were to take south park's depiction of family guy's writing staff approach [manatees with idea balls] over the bozos they have working there now).

Help put an end to junk trading
How is this thread not locked yet? P.S. - Magzar, I have [what I consider to be] lots of junk in my bank, valued at 10 million gp according to the Grand Exchange. I am personally willing to let you buy as much of it as you possibly can, for pure cash. Now, if you truly believe that what you've said in your past 20+ essays on this thread is true then you will have no problem buying my 'junk' since you won't be losing anything (because according to you, junk is as good as pure cash). However, if you decide not to buy my 'junk' then will you please just end this thread for the sake of everyone's sanity?

That's not true in the least...there are multiple things that can be done by JaGex to get rid of junk trading...a few of which have already been posted in this thread. The absolute easiest fix (and it confuses me as to why it hasn't been implemented yet), that would solve half of the problem for now, is to install either an npc or a function of the grand exchange that allows you to sell anything at 10 or 15% below market price instantly - ESPECIALLY/AT LEAST for items that have price floors.

Help put an end to junk trading
the reason people are against it is because they believe that the ge knows better than players in terms of an items true value, and as such assume anyone who wants to sell something with junk because they value it as more than ge, is a scammer. that and they want to get rare items on ge for cheap; when people are willing to pay alot more I know why people are against it, and I'm trying to point out to those that are against it that they have faulty logic and that junk trading isn't ruining the game in any way.

Help put an end to junk trading
It almost seems like people are under the impression that in junk trades, the player ending up with the junk has no say in it...which as we all know is completely silly. Both parties involved in junk trades know exactly what's going on and fully accept that. As such, there is absolutely no reason that anyone should be against junk trading.

Oh, and I should also point out that with the current situation...junk trading is a perfectly reasonable thing. People who junk trade aren't scammers or manipulators, nor are they idiots for thinking they're getting more by junk trading than by just ge trading (which is why i think this thread is ridiculous).

With this implementation, item prices would rise artificially, since an item's selling price does not necessarily reflect its activity in the market. The only way to truly guarantee that players want a certain price is to update it based on completed trades, which it already does. The auto-sell would also cause higher class items to fall like rocks - consider the 100M partyhat again; when the GE updates, that price has fallen to a staggering 85M. Let it continue over a week and that item will be worth 32.05M, and the merchants will be pissed royal. I'm sure that the developers have thought about this. Having a general store or some other specialty shop buy the junk from the GE (and reroute it to the black hole) would be a simpler solution, since even yours can't apply to every single item on the GE (namely the expensive items). The "black hole" ideology would also affect higher priced items, as people would be a little less apprehensive of trading on the GE, and would try to sell their goods there. Item prices would not rise artificially since they would eventually reach a price where players are both willing to sell and buy at - aka correct price. With the current situation, adjusting based off of completed transactions...that's exactly the reason many items get stuck. The auto-sell would only cause higher class items to fall like rocks if they are way over priced as it is...which would be solving a problem, not creating one. If players let the price of a partyhat drop to 32m, that means they don't value it at more than 32m.

that wouldn't work if merchers make 100000 bots put in max price offers at the same time and this updates the G.E. then prices would skyrocket to the obscene, we would be seeing rare items cost billions I do like the auto sell, but that's basically just how selling to general stores work, if general stores bought items at a flat rate(which IMO they should) What?...prices wouldn't adjust like that...they would adjust at like 20% max a day.

Help put an end to junk trading
I'm not gonna lie...this is one of the most ridiculous threads I've ever seen and you guys are way overthinking this. The solution is very, very simple...make the GE update prices based on OFFERS. Only offers to buy above market price and offers to sell below market price affect it - that way there is no easy manipulation with offering to sell above and buy below. On top of this, they should put in place an auto sell option on the ge that's 10-15% below the market price... Edit - Discontinued items (possibly some of the extremely rare non-discontinued items too) are an exception when it comes to adjusting the price based on buying offers above market price.

Pjers-Ruining RS PVP
How often would it be the case that the drop from a 10 second pj is better than a 5 minute fight? Rarely. So let me ask you...would you rather go to a drop party in the party room and pop a balloon for a blue partyhat, or earn 400m from skilling? I'd be happier with the first and I'm sure about 99% of rs would. How often? Considering they have nearly the same drop potential, I wouldn't say rarely. I was just bringing out the point that people go to pvp worlds/bh mainly for drops. And I was just pointing out that if you fight normally, you have a much better shot at a better drop. It's just that those who fail at pking normally have to resort to pjing, and since they make more money pjing than fail normal pking they deduce that pjing is more profitable than regular pking.

Pjers-Ruining RS PVP
As someone has already mentioned, there is only one way to DECREASE your drop potential and that is by actually getting a kill. Standing in a safe zone or jumping in an out of a safe zone does not lower your drop potential. Also this whole "it can be easily avoided, thus they should do nothing about it" argument has it's share of faults. Let me present to you the man armed with a knife. If he tries to attack you, he can be easily avoided with proper preperation, just like a pjer. Just because we can deal with pjers ourselves doesn't mean that jagex shouldn't do anything about it since they are a major annoyance to any player trying to pk in the average manner and pjing isn't "in the spirit of the game". :P Honestly, it's like me trying to argue that they should leave the GE shortcut the way it is (with the delayed/stacked damage) since you can easily avoid it.

Pjers-Ruining RS PVP
In that case, it's called thinking ahead :P What exactly is there to think ahead about? You're out of food and you've won the fight (so you've obviously thought ahead enough to prepare yourself to beat your opponent)...putting on prayer won't stop them from killing you and teleporting is not the proper solution to what is in fact a problem.
