That genre simply allows people to escape reality and fantasize. Sure they aren't going to make those who read them more intellectual, but they are fun to read...so look at those books more so like you'd look at playing a game - for entertainment purposes only.
  2. That gets so frustrating. I went camping for a month, and no one brought watches. It was fall, so it got dark early, and you never knew what time it was. Like 7pm seemed like 9:30, since it was pitch black, and you couldn't tell the difference at all. Not knowing the time, coupled with not caring about what time it is, is an amazing feeling.
  3. People over-quoting the episodes, doesn't make them bad.
  4. It all stems from time and scheduled lives. Which is exactly why I don't make plans in my life (whenever possible). For instance, when I go on road trips with my friends - we don't make an agenda, we just welcome spontaneity along on our trips.
  5. Most supermarkets/malls have security camera's on all the time anymore. :( Otherwise yeah, that would be extremely fun.
  6. I probably get 3000+ calories in a single sitting, but that's because my eating habits are a bit strange - eat one big meal a day sometime in the afternoon, the rest of the day consists of a few pieces of fruit. It's kinda funny though because I can win eating contests against guys a lot bigger than myself (I'm 6' 175lbs) because my stomach is a lot more stretched than theirs. But yeah, my brother and I were blessed with a great metabolism as well. We can literally eat as much as we want, including junk food, and not gain unwanted weight.
  7. The economic costs that society incurs housing inmates far outweighs the joys we as a society get from them. This argument can be used for a lot of things, so if you're going to use an argument at least be consistent about it....meaning if THAT'S going to be your reasoning, say "She should abort the baby, and we should kill any other people that don't benefit society that put a cost on society".
  8. Uh, I attended a school that had a uniform policy from grades 1-12 (here in the US) and the school never made anything off of the uniforms because...they didn't sell them. They did profit off the "spirit wear" but that wasn't part of the uniform, was moreso for parents/students to wear to extracurricular activities to show support. Also the uniforms we had were really cheap too, black pants + white polo or button up from grades 1-8, then 9-12 we had the option of wearing khakis instead of black pants.
  9. To be honest, probably a little less intelligent but quite a bit happier. :|
  10. Never done any weightlifting, all my workouts are free-weight. Pull-ups, push-ups, angled push-ups, variety of sit-ups, sprints, and distance running.
  11. I can't put it better than this. It's not that easy though, most changes people want to see simply won't ever happen.
  12. Audacity is a free and easy to use program that allows you to import the 3 songs and cut them up as you wish, so my suggestion would be that (but you probably needed this done before today).
  13. It's not really sad the first time around, but once you know what you do at the end of the movie, the scene in The Prestige where Christian Bale's character is in prison and he's saying goodbye to his brother is pretty sad. The end of In Bruges is kinda sad too, didn't shed any tears or anything, but when he says "and I really really really hoped I wouldn't die....I really really hoped I wouldn't die" I really really hoped he wouldn't die either. :(
  14. The pirates episode had perfect timing because I just (finally) watched Pirates of the Carribean - At World's End last night. I loved how Cartman always reacted by yelling at Kevin or just saying "The [bleep]?", and the lightsaber was pretty funny.
  15. Like others have already said, there is no universal pre-set purpose to life. However, the way I see it, life for us is the biggest opportunity of all - and it's up to us to take advantage of that opportunity. And by take advantage of it, I mean we need to figure out on an individual level what our purpose is, as well as figure it out on a larger, more global scale. Personally, I believe one purpose of ours as a whole should be to find/develop a way to live longer/healthier lives. At the same time, we need to be exploring new areas and developing new technologies that allow us to occupy these areas - whether it be building in bodies of water, underwater entirely, underground, or even on the moon. Once humanity as a whole gets a better grip on the disease problem, the global population will increase at a much faster rate than it is now (provided no other variables have a major impact on the population - such as violence/war or natural disasters) and we will eventually run out of the land that we currently deem suitable. Also, this can be said for any non-renewable resource...that we need to develop solutions to the potential problems that lie ahead.
  16. Yeah, that video was what we call a parody, meaning it didn't really happen. They're making fun of him with videos they edited.
  17. You seem to hate the world for silly reasons. That's all I have to say. *$ yes I read it all (despite it's very poor structure).
  18. Besides, a bucket list is things you "want" to do before you die, not things you "believe you can achieve" before you die. Otherwise my friend is royally [bleep]ed because he wants to see a fusion bomb live, a fision bomb live, break the sound barrier and feel it, as well as walk around on the bottom of the ocean. >_>
  19. So now you can't just feel sorry for yourself, you have to try and put a rain cloud over someone else. Wonderful.I'm right though. You know it. I'm being an [wagon], sure, but that begged for mocking and if he puts himself out like that he should be prepared for any response. Let him defend himself if he cares... You're not right tho. It's like me saying "before I die I wanna have sex with Carmen Electra"...If I don't have sex with Carmen Electra before I die, I'm NOT going to feel like a total failure. He said they "seem far fetched" so he implies that he believes that he can achieve those goals. If you fail to meet a goal you believe you can meet you'll feel bad about it.No, the people who feel bad about not reaching their goals are the ones who try as hard as they possibly can to obtain them, then fail. Or maybe not try as hard as they can, but in this case the goal's are more easily obtainable, and they still fail. If he browses these forums and plays runescape (not sure if he still plays or not), then my guess is he's not putting most of his time and effort into making it to the NFL.

  21. TBH the only unrealistic thing on his list is to play in the NFL and he even realizes that may seem far fetched so he's probably saying it's more of a dream than a goal.
  22. My brother cruised past a cop going 110 on his motorcycle and the cop tried chasing him, but he just kicked it up a notch and easily got away. Said he got going up to 160 and it was intense. Bucket List: - Visit 100+ countries and do something memorable in each - Make several movies with my friends, some full length, others not. - Get into one of those super sweet chase scenes (preferably on foot) that you see in action movies. - Hanglide off the roof of my house (always wondered how far I could get (it's on the top of a hill)). - Eat lots of unique foods (I watch bizzare foods with Ander Zimmern a lot). - Pull off a successful heist - no clue what I'd even go after tho. - Be a part of reforming the legal system (traffic laws specifically). - Own my own castle - preferably one already made but if I have to I'm up for building my own log castle. There's more that I know I want to do before I die but just can't think of them now.
  23. Technically the United States does use metric, by law. It's just the people within the United States that choose not to.
  24. epic win. :lol:Tbh, if I was serving food to the cops around here I'd have no problem doing that and then some.
  25. Other people telling jew jokes, seem like a reasonable reason to ban him. Please explain?
