It's true Europe would have a severe shortage of daily items, electronics etc... If they chose to band against China in a war, the EU would shoot itself in the foot and destroy it's own economy. A huge majority of consumer goods, clothes and other goods used in the EU are made in China. Sort of disagree about food though, Europe only imports a few food items like rice and some other grains from China. Domestic production of food is strongly encouraged and funded in the EU, so even if there was a war, at least Europeans would stay alive (but with a ruined economy). Ye I see what you mean about the food. Either way if we went with or against China and China won the economy would most likely crash since so much revolves around America. The economies in Western Europe are suffering just at the thought of America going into Recession. So either way if Europe went with or against China we'd most likely end up with a destroyed economy.

A war of such magnitude between say China and America I don't think anyone would join either side. It would be a extremely close war and choosing sides could mean the annihilation of your country, while staying neutral would probably have very little repercussions other than slightly pissing off the leaders of the winning country. A country could completely change sides in a war of such size. Britain and most of western Europe are allies with America now but if a giant war happened they could easily change sides to China as China has relatively easy access to them and Western Europe relies on China for food and day to day items. If China turned against Western Europe we would suffer great shortages in common items.

Finished some pretty serious exams about 2 weeks ago, since then I've just been on my summer holidays. Exams were hard and long but nice to get them out of the way. Summer is pretty weird for me, it's just relaxing and getting drunk / high. Relax during the day and try to find a party in the evening. I've had a couple of run ins with the law as well which wasn't fun. I'm going camping at the biggest Irish music festival so that should be good. Then I'm staying in my friends holiday house for 2 weeks. After that I'm going to portugal for 2 weeks. Pretty standard summer.

It should be legal, it's goes against the constitution as it states every citizen is born equal, yet homosexuals aren't allowed to marry. Basing your countries laws on religious laws in the 21st century is quite stupid since there is a vast amount of different religions in most countries and Atheism is on the rise as well. I don't see anything wrong with homosexuality, my best friend since I was a child recently came out of the closet and told me and his other close friends, I couldn't care, it's his sexual preference, he can do who he wants as far as I'm concerned. It saddens me in the 21st century people wont accept a homosexual simply because a book nearly 2,000 years old told them not to. Hopefully people will realise it's unfair to punish people simply because there attracted to the same sex, the punishment being not allowing them to marry. Another question I have as well, to all of you who condemn homosexuality, does that mean you're not attracted to lesbian pornography or you've never masturbated to it? Because my guess is 9/10 of you have, and it's quite contradictory condemning it while then pleasuring yourself to it.

Nice stereotype, I'm atheist, every Atheist I know including myself never trys to force our opinion upon others. It's just easier to stay out of all the religious crap. Missionaries often piss people off trying "save peoples souls", there's nothing that irritates me more than listening to some preacher babble on about this "all mighty god" or missionaries who do door-to-door calls trying to "save my soul".

Many people who no longer believe in religions now get married at the registry office, that's how it's mostly done in Ireland anyway, no religion involved at all throughout the whole ceremony, the vows are made and the agreement etc, they're pronounced married. That's it pretty much. If your partner does actually love you then she /he should accept your want to not have to adhere to a religion.

When I first took my stabilizers off my bike, then ended up getting really confident about how good I was at riding my bike, I then cycled into a tree at about 15 MPH because I lost control. Jesus Christ when will you realise it's not the troops who want to be there. The troops aren't shouting at Bush "keep us here, keep us here1@!@" The troops are powerless on whether if they serve in Iraq, It's not there decision to go into Darfur and save the civilians, it's people like Bush and the head commanders. The common foot soldier has no say on what country they go into it, they're ordered in and they must follow commands or face court. I agree with you completely on Iraq no longer being a threat and the soldiers should no longer be there, but it's no the troops fault. They have no say on when they'll be pulled out of Iraq. Yes there is so many better things the American army could be doing right now, but again the troops have no say in it. The army has huge amounts of people in it, obviously something was going to happen where a soldier abused their power I.E robbing from civilians houses or arresting innocent civilians, there is also amazing stories of American troops protecting innocent Iraqi civilians from Insurgents. If you're going to develop a opinion on the army research both sides before coming up with your opinion. I'm not pro-war but I've realised the troops are just doing their job.
