Tired of getting all those javelin drops but no way of using them? Heres your answer: The Atlatl! This is a example of one: [hide][/hide] The arching motion of the swing maximizes the power of the throw increasing the range of the javelin. It would be equipped in the weapon slot and be 1-handed (thus the javelins would be wielded in the ammo slot) Along with the increased range the atlatl's will give small range atk and str bonuses (this would be added to the javelins bonuses). Willow Atlatl: +5 atk +5 str REQUIRES 25 RANGE Cost: 10k tokens can wield up to mithril javs Yew Atlatl +12 atk +12 str REQUIRES 40 RANGE Cost: 20k tokens can wield up to addy javs Magic Atlatl +20 atk +20 str REQUIRES 60 RANGE Cost: 40k tokens can wield up to rune javs Or what about thrownaxes? I think the spear is pretty useless for f2p (in p2p it can be poisoned) exept maybe the furnished levels where you get alot of bats/dogs because of the pathetic slash bonus against mysterious shades,zombies, dungeon spiders. (this is MY Opinion so please no excessive flaming) Fractite 2h sword beats maul/spear/longsword because of the high accuracy of its slash/crush combo everything in dungeoneering is weak to slash or crush exept bats and guard dogs This is what I have bound: fractite 2h fire staff 125 deaths

(from the article you linked) I think bows can shoot accurately a little further than that. If my range figures are off, well... just keep javelins (relatively) short-ranged weapons. Second: Dragon javelins might go a long way to make javelins viable weaponry. Extrapolating and guessing, they'd have low 50's attack and high 50's strength. That's about as good as the +58 ranged attack and +57 ranged strength for the magic atlatl/rune javelin combination, and the +69 and +49 for obsidian rings, which are also level 60. Since attack bonusus are easier to come by, the atlatl/javelin and (possibly) the dragon javelin are in the same leage as or better than the rings, which are pretty good, I hear. Third: The fun part! Dragon javelins/dark atlatl anyone? 200k tokens, 80 range, +30 attack, +20 strength, for a grand total (based on a guess) of +82 attack and +76 strength. Ouch! No threat to Morrigan, I suppose, but it's a ranged whip! And it totally beats the chaotic crossbow in awesomeness. In short, I support this. I think it needs very little tweaking to make it fit right into my bank :thumbsup:. Do you have a solution for throwing axes? The whole point of the atlatl is to make the javelins Throw Farther, The throwing range could be tweaked But there needs to be a oomph that makes javelins worth it and runescape is not exactly realistic for example, if you put a sight on a longbow does that really make it 4x more accurate? That is a good point though.

Coal bag and arcane stream necklace are must gets, so get those first :thumbup: Personally, I recommend just finding one or two folks to rush small dungeons at com 6 on 2:2/3:2/4:3/5:3 difficulty UNTIL FLOOR 31+ Then find a good clan and get together and do large 5:4, 5:3 dungeons on floor 31-35
