Most embarassing thing ever to happen to you?
Well since you mentioned something you did when you were 7 or 8...I did plenty of embarrassing things when I was little. One funny memory I have from when I was 5, was the time when my parents and I were on this horrible turbulence ridden flight to Florida. I was just like that stereotypical kid in airplane thriller movies. Many people were getting very frightened and in their terror I kept saying: "Mommy I want to go home now!" "I do not like this air plane ride, I want to go back now!" "Mommy is the plane going to crash?!" Everybody was giving my parents dirty looks. I was not embarrassed of it back then but looking back on it now, I am super embarrassed and do not have a Thanksgiving or Christmas without that story being told :XD: .

I hate this mining problem!
That's what being a miner in RS is all about hun :P. Tis a skill that has loads of competition (yet many hate leveling and do not bother to get that high ironically)...the reason why this miner is beating you is due to the art of the "connection." Their reflexes are beating you by the milisecond and their pick is connecting with the rock sooner than yours is (or they literally have a better Internet connection lol). As long as they are 40+, rocks like iron will be a sinch for them. The way I beat these super humans with awesome reflexes is by unequiping my pickaxe and allowing it to sit my inventory. Somehow it gives me that milisecond advantage when I attempt to mine a rock that beats their super reflexes. I do not know the reason behind it but it seems to work quite well (maybe because you have less of a swing to do since you are not wielding the pick). At the end of the day, the best advice I can give you is...patience is a virtue. The longer you mine my friend, the more you are going to have to deal with it. Zen mining ftw...

anyone agree?
Yeah being a low level does have a temporary bliss to it :P. I have no biases against them, in fact I envy them! I remember how much more fun I had being new to the different aspects of RuneScape. There seemed like so much to do and even the F2p world seemed vast to me. However, I do not think I could ever remain a low level, I'm too darn ambitious. There's somewhat of a nice carefree-ness about them that I wish I possessed. But I just cannot resist the allure of leveling and setting goals for myself.

Summoning has brought me more pain than joy...
It seems as though the blame is more properly placed on your friend. Better to have an update that is causing much hype or hate than a friend who is not really as true as you thought they were :?.

Lady Shahdie's Journey to 99 Smithing - MOVED TO THE BLOG TAB!
They're a bit of a minor pestilence for me but not enough so that they plague or ruin my trips. However, my pure skiller friends feel done in and tell me they do not dare to mine in the wild anymore. Their lower cb levels make them sitting ducks for those blood thirsty revs :ohnoes:.

Girls in RuneScape
I hate how I am seeing more and more male players starting to treat RuneScape like eHarmony...or in other words RuneHarmony! I have seen male players ranging from levels 10 to 112 asking for girl friends and online relationships. Whenever I have denied one of those relationship seekers they blurt out obscenities like: "Get a life b*" and "Nerd." Now let me see, I'm the one who is a nerd and needs to get a life for possessing no desire to go steady with a pixelated sprite :-s (seems like they need to sort out their priorities)? But not all the male players view us in such vulgar ways and it is a shame to see how their reputation is trashed due to those guys. On the other hand, our reputation is constantly trashed by noob players who create female characters just for handouts . Which is why no one wants to accept the fact that there are actual girls who play this game...*cough*or an elaborate conspiracy to create an army of fake females to allure the male denizens of RuneScape to become powerless and give all their riches away, which is what is really causing the economy to crash! Oops I've said too much!*cough* At the end of the day, we must not generalize each other and ignore the idiots who are contributing to such awful generalizations. Nice rant Plugpoint!

Lady Shahdie's Journey to 99 Smithing - MOVED TO THE BLOG TAB!
Hello all! Mined a meager 20k xp this week. I have been going to one family gathering after another, which has left me little to train...but hey that's what the holidays are for, spending time with the loved ones :. I will most likely continue this period of inactivity up to January 8th (when my vacation ends). Hope you all enjoyed your holidays and wish you all a great 2008! Happy New Year!

Rune Mining/Smithing No Longer Profitable?
Well, I often hear members describe the competition at the Hero's Guild to be herrendous. This still probably has not become as bad as their guild just yet. I do not notice any changes in my rune mining loads, just the fact that I have more competition when I log in at rune rocks (as you mentioned).

Lady Shahdie's Journey to 99 Smithing - MOVED TO THE BLOG TAB!
Hey all, just been snail mining about 100k mining xp over the past week. Have not been logging on much because I've been spending some holiday time with the family. In other news, my hiscores rank has gone under the 10k mark! As of this moment I'm RuneScape's 8,798th top miner out of 1,000,000 :D. Woohoo!

Summoning F2P?
BBC3, insults just show insecurities. By making posts like that, people will believe you are trying to compensate for insecurities. Please be respectful of your other posters and quit with the glib retorts or pushing your weight with your "stats." It buys you no more respect. Do unto others as they would do unto you . Thank you.

Summoning F2P?
Regarding the whole Fook-A-Ji, BBC3, and Qeltar debate...lay off each other! All of you make valid points but lets just put two and two together. Yes F2pers enjoy many freebies and Jagex has my ultimate gratitude because of it. As F2pers we should not bite the hand that feeds us and appreciate the awesome game we are getting for free. It gives me a good feeling that Jagex cares for us in that respect! However, just because members pay a fee it does not give them a certain entitlement. It does not mean you are of higher status than an F2per and you certainly are not being dubbed knights by the queen of England. It just means you are a paying for more features in the game not for a higher rank in the RuneScape community . Anyways, as far as summoning, there is an extremely rare chance that a slim few features of it may be F2p...but I doubt it. This certainly is shaping up to be a P2p skill (the Yanille Pet Shop being most evident of that). Also, have any of the summoning eggs that have been hidden indications of the skill ever been found in F2p? That also might be another pointer that the skill will be 100% P2p. But it does not bother me as an F2per. It just gives me more skills to oogle over and consider working on if I ever become P2p. All in all, I don't think you need to be F2p or P2p to realise that this will be an awesome update .

Lady Shahdie's Journey to 99 Smithing - MOVED TO THE BLOG TAB!
The holiday spirit seems to be really kicking in Tip-iters! The Mining Guild had its share of hit and runs...I was mining coal as a break from monotonious iron powermining and got pelted by a team of ten snowball warriors :anxious:. In other news, I hit the 4 million mining experience mark today! The landmark achievements this month have been quite something, I could not be happier :D. See ya all around and remember to make a snowman today! *Shakes her keyboard globe and watches as the letter-snow piles form around her. Makes a text snowman out of them! ̢̮Ãâ¹ÃâÃâ ââ¬â¢*

America+Middle Eastern=Racism?
I unfortunately relate to this too well. I was born here, so I am considerably your typical American girl. However, I am very proud of my Persian (Iranian) roots and I do not dodge the fact that I am part Middle Eastern when asked (my looks also give it away, though I have been often mislabeled as Latino, Italian, Greek, and Russian). My example of what you call the little things that indicate racism in America is as follows: I had moved to a new community back in 10th grade and I was interested in getting involved in the clubs the local high school had. I went to the clubs and events coordinator and described the various things I enjoyed. I told her how I loved literature and poetry and would be interested in joining something like a Dead Poet Society. She looks straight in my eyes and pauses for a second. She breaks the silence and says: "I know the perfect club for you sweety, Middle Eastern club!" Now granted that I am not at all shy about my heritage...I never once mentioned to her what ethnicity I am. I once again repeated to her what kind of club I desired to join and she responded: "I don't think we have that dear." She immediately oddly follows with: "We are very proud of the diversity we have in this school district." I leave her office somewhat dissappointed but the final blow comes when I research on my own and find out the school has four literature and poetry clubs. Though it was a little thing...it hurt me more deeply than the most blatant signs of racism I have seen before.

Lvl 87 Mining ACHIEVED!!! Achieving Level 87 Mining Screenshot As the week draws to a close dear blog readers, I achieve another level...87! This level up was quite an interesting one. I started the day with around 90k xp left till the level up and regardless of announcing to Tip-it chat that I was going for 87...I did not think I would muster up the patience to do it :P. But I took breaks throughout the day and would revisit my computer for another 20k xp here...another there. This strategy was effective enough to pull me all the way through to the final 10k (Foo was also keeping me motivated most of the time, thanks as always bud and a shout out to my iron mule Arrowbld  ). As I gleefully hit the Rimmy rocks, I switch chat to friends and a 99 mining champion...Samurai Lux is on. Lux sends me a message asking how my mining progress is going and I of course tell him that I'm on cloud nine. The minute he offered to stop by for the level up...lo and behold...a genie appears! I accept the lamp from the genie, tell Lux to get his Samurai keister over to Rimmy (ok I did not say keister lol...I would never disrepect that guy), and pose next to the most interesting looking feature of the mine (the shovel and wheel barrel). He shows up true-to-form in his Mining Cape and I set the camera up for a beautiful shot. After rubbing the lamp and seeing the lovely little fireworks fly...Samurai busts out his cape emote and I got an awesome level up picture out of it! To celebrate we headed to the Duel Arena and had a friendly duel...I fought him with my pickaxe teehee. Happy Holidays All!

RSOF poster types: Sadists, Wannabes, Ranters, etc.
Here's one that I've seen on any RuneScape forums (or forums in general for that matter): The Sailor Mouth This poster expresses joy, love, passion, pain, anger, and any other emotion through the use of expletitives or curse symbols (i.e. @&$#). Many of their posts are incredibly hard to read, excruciating to read, or cause the eyes to bleed while read. The condition this poster has is contagious and will produce other sailor mouths out of forum posters from the various categories. This poster's posting habits are sporadic because they are either attracted to flame fests or they create a post of utterly random profanities for the heck of it. Note: This poster's account does not typically last long due to being muted/banned 5 seconds after posting (ok I know that's an exaggeration of time limit but you get the idea :P).

This is Not Constructive
Glad to see many are willing to take constructive means at the moment. Fey Warrior described the issue most accurately. Drastic changes like this open up rifts in the RS community that are as old as time. As far as Jagex listening to our desires or not I cannot say...my main concern is that we remember to listen to each other and respect the views of each other. Thanks all for giving me hope that this is possible!

Lady Shahdie's Journey to 99 Smithing - MOVED TO THE BLOG TAB!
Hello RuneScapians, my mining wears on and I have surmassed around 100k+ of mining xp over the couple days that have passed. Still have some ways to go to 87 but the fact that my next level has a 7 in it (lucky number :D)...motivates me to keep swinging my pickaxe to and fro. Wish you all a good TGIF and weekend to come!

This is Not Constructive
Disclaimer: This is my take on the matter and may not represent the views of other RuneScape players. If you disagree with any of my comments, you are entitled to that, but please post a constructive rebuttal in response of them and keep the response within forum rules. Thank you. Hello all. I am not what you would all call a rant poster and I mostly enjoy utilizing the Tip-it forums to post my progress as far as my skilling goals...the recent updates and the amount of steam they have caused however, have motivated me to post my small opinion. RuneScape experienced a drastic change this week. The uproar has caused many dear friends, pk veterans, long time members, and various others to quit. Even though I agree with the steps Jagex took, such losses are sad and I feel shamed to see. However, I am not shamed by those who bash such people (like myself) who agree with the updates or the efforts Jagex made. The means that have been implimented to exclaim such displeasure are atrocious. Riots, the less graceful goodbye posts, and the coining of ridiculous phrases "no pk, no pay" or "no killing, no billing" do not achieve anything constructive. For those who are doing it to proclaim the end of RuneScape and their cancelation of membership or play...your rioting is only ruining the game experience for those who still wish to play (and if you are doing such things to achieve that goal...that's more than sad). For those who are doing it to radically bring RuneScape to a former glory...Jagex gave you a means to do so, constructive criticism through the forums (any other means will not adhere any attention by the company). Now on the other hand, those who agree with the updates but are just antagonizing or belittling these people...this is also not constructive. For those who are gleeful with the desimation of pures and demonizing pkers...they simply enjoyed the game in a different way than you and you have no right to claim they abused the combat system. Also, the stereotyping of what kind of person a pure was must stop (ie. assuming their mental capacity, name calling, etc). By doing any of these things, you are are just feeding fire to flames and not being helpful members of the RuneScape community. All in all, whatever kind of player you are/were, we must be shoulders that each other can lean on. Whether Jagex is a game company that truly cares about their players or not...we the gamers must show compassion for our fellow player. This is what will truly keep RuneScape going strong and allow it to continue to evolve into a great game as well as continue to grow as a great community. Thus ends my rant. Feel free to share your opinions below.

RuneScape LIVES!
Not quite impressive in my book...more like despicable and disgusting :-X. That's shameful that they would use such means and rip the RS and RL accounts of many people.

Lvl 86 Mining ACHIEVED!!! Achieving Level 86 Mining Screenshot Guess what Scapers? Lady Shahdie just achieved the more unique 86 mining! Woohoo! Every level has just been motivating me more and more. Rather than feeling more daunting, this challenge is feeling easier and easier. I would just like to thank Foo for keeping me company while I was mining the final mundane thousand ks of experience and John Cable for always having faith in me :D. Also, thanks richpoepaap for your "keep rocking it" encouragement...you all rock my world!

Lady Shahdie's Journey to 99 Smithing - MOVED TO THE BLOG TAB!
Hey all, I've had a good powermining streak so far! I am a mere 48k xp away from 86 :D ! Though it would be wise to finish this final stretch to the next level, I'm taking a break today to bank in on some rune. Jagex has implimented a lovely wildy update that benefits and both hurts us rune miners...wildy is now designated with non-pk/pk zones! Now I can safely go to the rune rocks without worrying about bloodthirsty pkers attacking me. However, this comes with a cost. This update will mean my competition of rune miners will increase ten fold. But heck, I heard the member's Heroes Guild had that kind of competition, so I'm cool with it. As I am mining right now, I had a short chat with Tip-it's resident 99 stat gal gamer M N H Clever. Just wanted to say thanks for the Hyt M N H, you make us girl gamers proud ! Cya all around!

Lady Shahdie's Journey to 99 Smithing - MOVED TO THE BLOG TAB!
Hello everyone! Got a chance for a short powermining session yesterday and chiseled the amount of xp left to the next level to 120k. Still have a ways to go but I love the thought of gaining the more unique level of 86 mining :! I uploaded a new stat picture on the first post since my stats have drastically changed since July. In other news...I made it to MSSW3! The event did not dissappoint and it was as exciting as I thought it would be. The Tip-it victory was just icing on the cake for me! The only sad bit of this event was that I, our leader, and many others were backstabbed by numerous rogues (rogues from both Tip-it and other fansites). I assure you though, try as best as you can not to miss these epic steel wars Tip-iters, they are without a doubt...a BLAST!
