thanks for the comments, good news, that deadline was just for a 'proof' of the poster, to basically show what we want to do, yes the layout is... disturbing..? (tho the use of that word gives me a picture of you crindging :( , which can't be good). I've got time to re-do the design, and work on the layout more.. But I initially wanted it to look energetic and playful.. Not too boring and structured.

Get rid of the rs guy, and bunk the bottom text to the left so it don't look emptE. I like the text, vry creative 8-) , cud do with improvin the bottom text tho, without an image the text becomes the focal point, and the typeface your using atm could maybe let it down :?.. Good work tho.. the 2nd lacks the same energy, the text looks illegible and kinda looks like it's lost against it's background.. The lense flare doesn't help, doesn't work in this image, though you may think it looks nifty.. I won't get into the 2nd one anymore, just, yea.. the 1st is better.

My deadline for this was yesterday morning :( , totally forgot so I had to ask for an extra day to finish (cough.. start, and then finish :lol: ), I noticed that everyone else in my class entered really poor photoshop posters, with other people's work crammed onto it from higher years (to make em look better than they are), so I decided to return to the roots of Graphic Design, Styling this 4 hour poster job on a Bauhaus artist called, Kandinsky.. who works using shapes to portray a simple message, I'd say it's pretty interesting and would catch your eye, as a poster. Btw, its advertising my college's End Of Year Show (as in a working year sept-june) , so people will hopefully be drawn to join the college next september.. It should represent all creative courses to our college.. Don't be mislead if you don't understand it, it's not supposed to really mean anything, just illustrate its a art-y college :? .. mix of.. Acrylics Watercolours Dirtywater (soil, teabags etc) Photomontage Photoshopping etc If you don't like it tough, im handin it in cus i've just ran outta time :P :lol:

I agree the quality of pixel sigs has declined since the loss of the Media Market, but I actually think the community is the same as it's ever been, maybe it's just not as active as it used to be. I personally stopped pixeling for my own personal reasons, the money didn't bother me as I never really played runescape.. The fact that Jagex suddenly wanted to stop people trading signatures for in-game money hit me as, a massive change in the community, less devoted artists, less support and more people asking for 'pr33 St00f', which was kind of the reason why I've suddenly quit.. It's dawnting to see pages of cheeky requests, dozens of pm's begging me to make an acception to each one. I think someone even offered me webspace.. Its hard to bribe someone with rs cash when I've not physically played for over a year.. :? I know this topic wasn't soley about pixel sigs, but I've not seen any change in other signature medias..

This would be very interesting to shade, I hope it comes out well, but atm its a bit flat, and using only 3 colours won't really help it.. First off the face proportions are all wrong, try make sure his eyes are half way down his head, try not to draw the rim of the nose on a head-on angle, you can show its a nose by the shading you use, also necks aren't usually as wide as the head.. I'll help ya with face shading, as your character is looking away from the moon he would have a very dark face, because no light can hit it, but you may get a shine of light on the side of his face, you've done this, but I'd say white doesn't fit the complextion of the skin, I've tried blue because it just looks nicer and seems to fit.. http://www.celebrationsca.com/pics_products/General/BallsAndEggs/Orb45in95LeafBronzeStandzy.jpg Aldron mentioned the orb, I'd expect to see some light shining off that too, as orbs catch light. I've just added a light grey to not contrast with the skin too much but gives it some depth. Heres what I came up with in like 2 minutes.. not too a masterpiece but shows how you can use colour to show light and shade much more successfully. goodluck, try keep the image dark, work with dark colours (close to black), and add on the lighter ones.. And don't be afraid to experiment with different colours, in our skin for example we have several different mixes of colour, it isn't just dark peach to light peach.

Imagine if ur terley. 100's of people want a pixelsig, because you like to do this. there keepon coming more and more, you even changed the name of your topic, to stop people from begging,and if their sig is done yet. :wink: Your totally right, plus all my focus to the one pixel sig has been shaken with so many requests, I decided to start the one pixel sig like on page 2... But somehow you've all posted up to page 5 with more requests, do u people just think, oh free pixel sig.. click, reply.. not even reading that I only want to make one, if it went well I maybe would of done another.. Even so, I detesque runescape related pixel sigs, they never show any real originality, I think I even asked to please stay away from them, I've not played runescape in many years and I have no clue what most those items you're talking about look like, and then to draw em..?

im quitting pixeling, im not going to pursue it as a career, Im an animator and all my time has been spent pixeling, but im not goin anywhere.. I'll still post my artwork here though so don't say goodbye. :wink:

I only initially wanted 1 idea, so I can do one last sig before I quit. I have no plans to make 20+ free sigs, a total waste of my time. :(

I started a character but the colouring is going all wrong :oops:, Im gonna re-do it, theres no point posting it :P

You've made very quick progress, its like a fast-forward of most people's pixel careers all into one week :shock: .. Love the last one, but yes you could work on faces more, study other peoples work to see how they've pixelised character to the scale you want, I know its tricky gettin detail and proportions right in such a small canvas. Google is your friend, search ocean and you'll find some good ocean sceneries, notice how the light is placed. And look at disney character maybe, it could help you develop your faces into something more interesting and stylised.. goodluck :wink:

A pixel sig is a signature, (image that goes below your post).. In the form of pixel art, made in simple programs such as ms Paint or Graphics Gale, manually placing each pixel of colour to arrange an image.. Try searching 'pixels' in the Search button at the top of the page.. Creds to Xion Night for the linework, had a go at colouring it.. stuck to 13 colours 8), 15 minute job. Colour yourself if you wish.
