1. Any good pixel artist would do shading on paint, its easy when you get the hang of it though you just have to adapt the shading to your style.. Its tempting to do gradiant shading but trust me, DONT USE GRADIANTS, IT USUALLY MAKES IT LOOK LIKE CARDBOARD (FLAT).. listen to what Quer says, he's one of the best. 2. Simply right click on a picture you want to colour in and press copy (CTRL+C), open paint and paste it (CTRL+V).. 3. The longer you spend on it the better it will probably be. Though through experience it will come more naturally to you so you wont have to spend ages on a pixel sig.. I personally spend max about 4 hours on a sig but some people take much longer.. If your thinking of drawing one out from scratch id advise ya to plan it out on paper and draw out the linework on paint, that wont take you long and then you can eventually start to colour it in. This is linework. needs clean lines so it looks better because its only a small picture, any small mistake in the linework is noticable.. Oh Quer, im leaving the shading tips to you.. Im still learnin :oops:

heh nice idea, this should be stickied so people new to pixel art dont have to be told again and again and again how to shade.... You should do one for colouring aswell Quer cus were getting all sorts of weird colours for skin, grass, sky etc.. It's so simple when you get the hang of it.. dun think she'd care if she lost ur respect.. anyways family guys way funnier than any of them, but you just have to be in the mood to watch it cus the comedy is weird compared to the rest (its bin banned soo mny times).. Other than that Southpark is the best cus they've never disappointed me, King of the Hill and Futurama are sometimes too boring.. Manga and Anime would be in a different league cus its a totally different Target audience, that comedy is cheesy.. Rather see action in that department.. :D

Its nice, cant see anything wrong with it.. Im sure once you've built up a background it'll look much better, just remember to add shading everywhere cus it can make such a difference to your pictures.. Also the characters aren't great but your the only person who can do anything about that, im sure that someone on the forum will have something negative to say about the characters though you can clearly see that a lot of works gone into this.. Keep it up :D , just work on the left character a lil more, thicken his legs and try darken the lines more on the right guys robes. Also I love the little expressions youve added to the pixel so far, the white lines coming off the monk and the movement behind the left guy.. Very unique, could be something to tell you made the sig.

Looks ok, but theres 2 problems.. Firstly its too big, limits are 300x150.. and the filesize is 60k, double what your allowed, thats because you've saved it as a Jpg.. for pixel sigs you gotta save it as a png cus it doesn't distort the picture after you save it and maintains a smaller filesize. Secondly, im just guessing that you've coloured it in on photoshop or something, if you have its not a pixel sig.. Pixel sigs are done totally in paint, with no alterations from other programs except for maybe some text. Oh and btw, paint is the simplist program to use.. If your struggling then maybe you shouldnt be on a computer :lol: , nothing to do with how good you are at drawing.. If your not struggling then goodluck with future sigs. :wink:

I like the way you shade, makes your sigs higher quality.. I recon the room carries on too far back, you should bring the clock closer to the front so you can put more detail on it and dont have the camera angle looking down on the characters (if you know what I mean) cus the character looks like your viewing him from the side tho it looks like your looking down on the background. Well what im getting at is you might wanna try add some other things in the room, nothing too cluttery just maybe an olden painting on the wall or just a window? looks like theres something missing at the moment.. :shock:

Its a relaxing sig :D, but ya its a bit inactive :( .. If you want it to be just a background Id suggest using a deeper understanding of texture, colouring and shade so theres more to it (the sky looks like just one block colour).. Or (I dont know if this was just lazy colouring) you seemed to have chosen very cartoony bold colours so what I recon is that you might want to make more of a cartoony theme, create an original style of character for your sigs like axe does (you can tell its his sig cus of the style).. Dont let ppl get ya down, if theres something majorly wrong with your sig ppl tend just to ignore it or say its rubish.. But theres only really a lack of experience here, im sure you'll get better so just keep in mind what area's you need to improve on.. :wink: .. I like it, I can kinda tell what the end result will look like so it would be nice to see.. I love the amount of action in some peoples sigs, its probably something I need to work on, with my old record of lazy body proportions I might try and make one of these to prove that Im not limited to one type of pixel sig.. That ghost is from Mario, probably a gameboy version. Id forget about the first one cus I don't think you truelly know what pixel sigs are, theyre basically pictures made totally in paint (or any other pixel program) without anything pasted in or edited.. Your new one looks ok tho the face looks a bit weird, take a look at existing pixel sigs to get the right idea..

I think it's great, I still look to mxm's work to point me in the right direction (not to say I copy) I love the positioning of everything, it would take me ages to get the perspectives right like that.. One thing is that the character looks slightly stiff in the legs, it might just be what he's wearing (tight pants or something).. :? Yeah apart from that Its amazing, If its true that you get better the more you do then soon your works gonna be unnaturally good :shock: .. Goodluck in future sigs mate.

Hey thanks for the compliments, as I say im nowhere near proffesional.. im only 16 so yeah im still a learner.. My Monitor is very bright so the background doesnt look dark to me at all, i'll alter it for a brighter version so you can see it better.. There are loads of problems with it, I just didnt want to make too big alterations to it with fear of wrecking it.. Ive never been good at doing hands, i'll have to make it look less weird.. Thats a cannon blaster, like you'd see on megaman.. Its where I got the idea. :D Any thanks for the support. :)

I quickly drew a character and started to colour him in last night, thought it looked pretty good so I decided to turn it into a sig :D added background and text today.. edit #with border Rate and C/C please.. Im giving up abstract sigs cus to be honest pixel sigs are much more fun to do, in my opinion. :wink: .. I still see myself as a learner so any tips would be great, please dont just post anything like 'I dont like it..' tell me why in a constructive way. Now that ive got my own sig sorted Im goin to start updating old sigs I sold to ppl ages ago. :roll:

There are two ppl who use this account, my brother is known as Mary Popp on rs and he's awesome compared to me at abstract sigs.. Im the one who makes pixel sigs and whos been around the last month or so.. I dont know much about normal abstract sigs and to be honest Ive never done em cus photshops hard :D, im gunna try make some! First sig Second sig third sig fourth sig Not that proud of the first one cus its too dark.. I just want some advice on how I can make future sigs better.. I know its rubish but im eager to get good quick, trust me I do.. just look at the difference with my old and new pixel sigs.. (Im gonna stress this - Please help I hate just doing pixel sigs!)

Lava looks like tomato soup, I dont know what I was thinkin about when I was doin the mountains and the sky looks like its guna blow up.. Guess the character proportions are alright though, and the two characters are suppose to look like theyre bein struck by lighting or something..
