(Not letting previous replies influence my judgement) I think its ok, not the best in the world and theres nothing that special about it. Its something that you'd expect from a first sig, all the signs are there, saved as a JPG, lack of time spent on it and no real point to the picture.. But as I say its ok, its funny to see youve chosen a santa lookalike next to a tree, it leads me to think its a picture of santa getting up after crashing his sleigh into a tree and the town behind have switched on all the lights cus they all wanna know whats happened. But im sure thats not what youve gone for.. My advice for a second sig is to try a smaller canvas, 300x150 is great cus its a smaller picture to work on, you can achieve better graphics by concentrating on single parts of the sig.. Zoom in, you can add small detail and spend longer figuring out how the shading will act on your picture, make sure you use a 1 px tool more cus the shading on that grass looks too blobby.. Decide on a light source, on that picture its night time so the wont be much light, even from the sky and town behind thought the character looks bold and bright. 300x150 is the size limitation on this forum which is another bonus cus that means you'll actually be able to use it :D , if you use that one you'll find that it'll be taken off.. Oh and make sure its a !!!PNG!!!, saving it as a JPG makes pixel pictures blurry and ugly, if you want it to look as sharp and clean as when you were drawing it I suggest you save it as a PNG in the future. Don't worry though your on the right track, you know how to make something on paint (photoshop, graphics gale - wtever your using to make the pixel sig), Mummi's 110% right about practice, dont fall into the trap that just cus its a first sig its alright to be bad.. Most people dont start drawing for the first time, in pixels, if your a slight bit interested in pixel art you must be the slightest bit experienced at drawing in rl, if thats the point then the chances are that you can do much better than this. someone who cant sing wouldn't opt themselves for the opera for example (bad example? :? ).. Well I honestly don't want you to give up, all I can do is give support because I don't think it's possible to make you any better by typing my heart out, all I can do is divert you to this link, a few ubber cool people on the forum went out their way to make a load of tutorials for poeple just like you! http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=100097 Just scroll down to the bottom.. I may make a pixel tutorial one day, my first kinda blew. well atb ~ Ter If you need any advice pm me, I wish someone did :( ............ ...jk, im not lonely.. :x
  3. I love it man, keep up the good work. Add a background? :o
  4. lol at the ban gud luk wit it its kinda alot of info 4 a sig tho
  5. brushing sucks dude, I seriously dont like it cus your just depending on what the computer can do for ya.. you can do any amount of brushing with a little effort on any pixel program, its the challenge of using limited resources to create something beautiful :D. Using brushing kinda just seems like a short cut for me, I'd rather spend longer on something then spend a couple of minutes doing a half assed job of it.. Im sure you can do pretty good art with brushing but its the fact that your doing it pixel by pixel which makes it pixel art, not just 'art'.. Don't really agree with you, but I can see that you can't understand why people choose to do something that takes longer rather than a quicker way with practically the same outcome.. I suppose its just knowing that more efforts gone into it, most other people cant do it with pixels which is why they choose brushing, its like growing your own veg rather than buying it at the shop  . :( ~RIP God~ :( - Ter
  6. very nice linework random, and great colouring everyone. Id like to see some shadowing on that character on his left shoulder there should be a shadow onto his chest next to his head, yeah I prefers randoms cus the colours really suit it and the shading makes it look like new armour.. What will he be holding in his left hand? a flag? or what mixand came up with? Goodluck with the pixel pic ~ Ter
  7. At what? Drawing??? Not a bad sketch. But if you're going to post it, you should seperate some parts with opacities, and even colours. I'm sure you know what its looking like, but to most of us, its a lot more difficult to see, and looks like a mess. Brush tool would probably give you better sketches, as well.... PS: Ugh, please don't tell me you forgot to draw his pants on. :? its only a sketch, a tablet is a drawing pad that controls the mouse on the screen so you can use a pen to draw rather than a mouse. Its honestly a first pen to pad sketch, after fiddling with the mouse sensitivity I got straight into making a sketch. First in the really light grey to plan then the darker grey to make a finaller sketch, if I would carry on I would add solid black linework over then dispose of the background mess.. Only then would I try to use colour it in, but yeah its hard to use without getting used to it which is why its so 'messy'.. I don't know what your saying with if im going to post it I should add opacities and colours, its like a pencil sketch -_- you dont do that in real life do ya? I dont use photoshop or anything to make pixel sigs only paint so i'd never use 'brushing'. Sorry if it looks like he's got no pants, I honestly can't see that in the picture but wutever.. Maybe you've just got a sick mind :? ..
  8. not anything too special just wanted to show off my new tablet, hahahahaha :D .. no seriously this is just a quick sketch of someone getting out of his wagon thingie to see what he just ran over, a lil chicken aw... Ill probably use it to make future sigs, sketch out a rough design and draw over bold black linework over the top.. Maybe its the next step to better pixel sigs? You can comment about this pic or simply let the post die, i just dun like keepin what I do a secret. atb ~ Ter :D
  9. that bit was a joke, dun mean to say thats what you do just throwing out a stupid joke, ignore me.. :(
  10. hes a complainer :D, visits random forums to complain how people suck, probably 8) .. you know ive not played rs in bout 3 years, but I just can't leave their forum, theres so many nice people. anyones welcome here.
  11. what, are we suppose to be discussing your shop or ordering? If so better post this on media market cus when someones interested in buying a sig they won't think to look in media discussion.. Just sayin, if you want the money.. Goodluck anyways, the sigs look ok.
  12. I just thinks its his opinion, id cry with no siggies.. smoking em is such a stress reliever, you can socialise with them and girls think your cool 8) .. ... what, ohhh signatures :o I forget what your on about sometimes  .. Well I don't see the reason why we shouldn't have 'signatures', people who don't like em are in the minority and im sure it doesnt bother them that much. And its what makes tip.it, without 'signatures' and the rules a lot of people wouldn't come each and every day, there'd be no need for media discussion, media market and we'd be stuck talking about runescape.. cmn who does that, im sure people would rather play the dam game than sitting there talking about how they are going to play it. Im not going to argue against Tynn, I have my opinions but he's not forcing them on us so im not going to force mine on him. Lets all be friends :D
  13. great improvement, hey, i was useful :D.
  14. they look pretty cool and cartoony but I think you went a lil wrong with the gradient shading in places, you'll get people saying they don't have right proportions, black lines are ugly, bad shading, I want to kill you etc.. but ignore any argry people and just work on it, i dunno they just seem like quite cute lil characters. aw and the red mace looks fluffy, I think  .. They would work as quite simple avatars.
  15. photoshop one but, it isn't an 'of course' as in it would always be better in photoshop. I recon you made the paint version too bitty, you could of made it as good as the photoshop version with a lil skill. Photoshop blurs edges on everything by just saving it as a JPG. Nice burd tho :) .
  16. Maybe hes just really big? You've heard of David and Goliath haven't ya? I like it because you're beginner and its pretty decent compared to what some people come up with, the character makes it but you've done a good job with the background shading, maybe you just got carried away with the grainy texturing cus I dont recon it suits the wall, water and the bridge. look up other methods like for wooden things I usually add long stroked lines to make it look more like you'd see in real life, you don't need the full detail and colouring just a small hint would make it look wooden when you zoom out. and the bricked wall would need some highlights on each brick to make it look not so flat, water is tricky but I usually build up watery colours mixed in hints of others to mimic the reflection from objects onto the water. Maybe you can see from a previous sig, you would obviously tone down the amount of reflection cus on this pic theres a sun right above the water. I start with a simple bluey colour, gradient the water so it becomes lighter towards the light source and then simply build up the reflections with similar shades until it looks right. With reflections I try and use similar colours that from afar blend in, if you have a green bush in the water the reflection will look much more like the colour of the water at this certain angle, but feel free to try full on reflections which would be much clearer. atb ~ Ter
  17. Hey I just got a tablet thingy too, maybe its a next step? I like that so far, goodluck with it God...slayer (few almost called him the G.O.D word).. Is it any easier to sketch pixel sigs?
  18. I see this is a touchy subject, well I don't see what you can do about is vennonatnsak? (cant be bothered scrolling down to see name), complaining is only boosing your posts and giving you a reputation as a nagger. Maybe set an example by making your own sigs, rather than annoying everyone else.. your like one of those backseat drivers from what i've seen, I think we all know your anger. Im backin ya with ripping other peoples pictures and backgrounding them, thats wrong but theirs nout I can do. Im just happy I will never do that though I have maybe once b4 (strike me down god!!), being a pixel artist thats impossible right?.. Try not to be a man on a mission, people just point and laugh.
  19. Its funny how a little comment can change a conversation, all it has to do is challenge someones ego in some way and bam! you click on page 34 two days later and we're talking about turtles :? .. Shall I dare  ... kingofduke has a small |)ick, Runs and hides. :o (Sorry its a bit of a random post but I just caught that unnecissery arguement thing with Godslayer on the 1st page.) I like them but yeah it would be great to see some of your art in there, do what mxm did with does amazin dinosaur drawings, then there would be no qualms 8) ... kingofduke you need to wash your mouth with soap, swearing is naughty.. thats why it comes up with a *. atb ~ Ter
  20. Theres a wide variety of people in the world, some are blessed with certain talents whether it may be a voice, being able to cook, acting, social skills, leading a group, being artistic etc.. Most of these require a great deal of creativity and hard work, for example an artist would feel the need to want to express his talent in the best way knows.. Most of these artists aren't the sort of people who 'live in nice little wooden house upon a quite countryside village, who each morn' yonder to that magical hill with paint palent and canvas then sit viewing a beautiful landscape in which they express their deepest feelings through art..' in the real world painting is too boring for some, in the olden days the technology was limited and so artists were forced to use little of what they could find.. Nowdays these young artists have other interests such as computers, programs such as adobe photoshop, paintshop pro, flash, paint, and graphics gale etc. Im as happy to see computer art as much as the norm becuase theirs such a wide variety of things to do, animation right down to pixel art. A forum is an easy way for some to transfer their talent to pictures which people can view as in a museum, but this is a forum.. cmn the people viewing are mostly more interested in the eye candy of the signatures rather then what they feel when they look at it, which is why people have signatures in the first place, if were limited to a stupid little avatar to express our creativity then this forum would just be a boring place.. A lot wouldn't be counted as art but still is a free view of creativity, remember that these people are mostly preteen.. People like The_Jeppoz, Misterxman etc are known widely for their work and creativity, oh and they're pretty decent people to talk to :D . Which is were it comes down to reputation. Reputation is essential for any decent discussion, the post counts I recon to maintain the history of each member, its like having a group of friends and each day you wake up remembering their name and that you're their friend but not remembering why exactly you are.. you commonly realise things like 'cool, I've known him for 4 years and we're still friends.' I dunno I guess its not really a competition for who gets more post numbers but a realisation of the time someones been around, almost like someones age, someone who joined 3 years ago with 2 posts won't be well known yet someone with 3000 posts would obviously be known much more.. I think your wrong by your alligation, I think sigs are essential for a free expression of talent and show of character and posts are used as a reminder of times past, to show how long someone has discussed with fellow members. People differ, you'd argue that its not needed maybe because your not too keen on art, I love everything about it so I'd probably feel needed to say something in defence I hope I wasn't too biased. Hopefully my opinion counts, atb ~ Ter
  21. Don't like it that much but yeah very creative, maybe more movement and original drawings. 3/10.
  22. Who wuda thought that he could fit into that armour :D , I love Southpark and its nice to know you like it too. 10/10, it looks like the cartoon so theres nothing much to say without telling the creators of Southpark to improve their graphics :o . Keep up the good work. atb ~ Ter

I cant see it, you take it off? well a first sigs a first sig, ignore the people who don't give you any crits and only complaints, im sure with a little pixie dust and happy thoughts you'll get better. (if the pixie dust aint working try practice, that usually works) atb ~ Ter
  24. The war against noobs goes on :D, i was a noob once.. I think. I like it, animated 8)
  25. I like the idea, but you can do it. Just a little advice, cus its very small you may wanna pick up some tips from people who are used to doing similar pictures, maybe someone who's used to doing backgrounds it may help. The reason I say this is because you'll end up with tiny people and objects in the background will look too small to see the detail, maybe loosing solid black lines will help you achieve a detailed 200x100 picture. Well im gonna trust that you know what your doing and maybe you'll someday be a great pixel artist. atb ~ Ter
