  1. I'm all for efficiency and value for you money, but am I the only one that thinks that looks like a train wreck? And that touch pad being where it is looks like it would give me carpal tunnel. iMacs are expensive. But they are coming out with the new quad cores soon, if you were interested in one. Quad doesn't matter, the iMac still needs a better gpu if you wanna run games on it. Looks like a train wreck? I think it looks like a normal laptop. For 800$ it's performance/price value is very good. I look for hardware that is price/performance when someone asks for it, and don't have a specific budget. I guess some more options: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6834152073 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6834115546 I don't know, the hinge looked kind of, iffy. And the bottom looked rather odd and uncomfortable because of the lift to cool it. And yeah, the whole line is getting a refresh. Quad, new GPU, LED screen, etc. And, if all he's doing is RSHD a Mac would be fine. I just mentioned that because I didn't know if he was looking for a Mac specifically. Because they're a bit on the expensive side. Oh, and mice aren't usually OS dependent, as in, they are cross platform. So you can usually use your existing mouse with Linux, OS X, or Windows.

  3. What about the JFK - Lincoln Assassination phenomenon? What are the odds of that happening? Unfathomable to calculate for anyone here.

Yes Meh. I don't remember the exact thing, but it was something like that. BUT, if you believe him, it means he wouldn't be lying, which wouldn't make him a liar. Can't you believe a lie?
  5. Yeah. But I can do an olly or whatever and I've had a skateboard for six years.

that is 50/50 odds 3 goats 3 cars as the final outcome First the abortion thread now this... the truth is becoming clear. I love you, Goddess. Oh, and:
  7. Then would it be okay to say black holes can't kill us since it's not an everyday type of thing that we encounter? Nah man, just stick a black hole in a mega-cannon in a vacuum and launch it at yourself. Impossible. And I'm kind of lost by the idea of a "cannon."
  8. Furthermore, objects cannot break into "nothing." The conservation of mass does not allow it.
  9. What are you talking about? Apple has the best CS of any computer manufacturing business. They're expensive, but you certainly get what you pay for. And it's certainly not an outsourced employee located in India.
  10. Anything with mass that approaches the speed of light can be divisible. The fact that it reaches such speeds gives it near infinite potential energy. Splitting the particle would emit this energy in some other form. But, I'm not comfortable saying that what I say is possible or impossible. Alright... So how about... Massless bosons? It depends on your definition of "mass."

  12. Who said you aren't gluing your head to the tip of the cannon? Nobody. You're still faced with the problem that water is not dense and the fact that your skin is an organ system which main function is to protect the body. Even at high speed, one droplet doesn't stand a chance versus skin. A drop of water at a speed slightly slower than light, in a vacuum is going to damage anything with less momentum. Period. There is no friction, so it's not going to disperse until it increases in speed, which its mass will infinitely approach zero parallel to the speed it reaches.
  13. I do not support abortion. I think iraq was a bad mistake. Bombing terrorists is not the answer. The death penalty does not work. The only people allowed to own guns should be police, hunters, army, and museums. I strongly support social programs designed to help single mothers. Try not to generalize and blatantly accuse. If you make the right to bear arms illegal, then only criminals have guns. It's the most ridiculous form of "protection" that the law could possibly offer. The death penalty doesn't work? I assure you people die quite often because of it. Iraq was a mistake? So you would rather Saddam Hussein, and other terrorists kill other innocent people? But making guns illegal means it is harder for criminals to get guns. The death penalty doesn't work - statistics show that violent crime is much higher in jurisdictions that have the death penalty then those that don't. And no, I don't want innocent people to die. I do believe, however, that the US invading iraq was, while necessary, horribly planned and executed, and therefore a mistake. The criminals will always find to get guns. If you take them away from people that aren't criminals, and thus don't have them, the fear diminishes in criminals. Simply put, crime rates would explode. Please show me the statistics you speak of.

  15. Why do you think they're getting sued lol Lol, ouch. Ah, I just read the lawsuit. It look like it was just because they said "Vitamin Water is good for you."
  16. Have you looked at the label...? Legally they can't lie about that.
  17. There are many people who don't have the capability to make decisions, so we should just kill them? I'm really not understanding your logic here. We are not questioning the fact of people and their capabilities of decision making. We cannot give those people the option or ability of an abortion in any manner. A fetus cannot make a decision itself; it's up to the parents. Giving the child the option of an abortion defeats the purpose, because it cannot be done. Exactly. And because you are talking about an issue that is so important, you don't have the right to make that decision. You do understand the world we live in, right? If it were, as others before had said, not a perfect society. Whos choice is it to make, really?

  19. Lol not random, just a lack of focus. It actually annoys me how every girl thinks they're so random and how it's such an attractive feature. It's really not. I want a girl I can talk to without her randomly changing the subject to something totally off topic and thinking she's being cute. Maybe if the new subject is important, ok. If not, it's just annoying. I don't care what some random kid said to you in the hall today, you better listen to what I'm saying about plans for tomorrow night dammit. I couldn't agree more. It's so annoying when people do that, trying to be funny/dumb themselves down to get others to notice them. That's exactly what pryo was talking about. People trying to be "random". I know...
  20. That's not what he or I were trying to convey. A fetus and a child don't have the capability to make decisions, thus they have no meaning in this equation.
  21. You're comparing violent acts to a question of morality. Big no-no. Why aren't the ancient Greeks or Inuits ever mentioned in these arguments? Both of those cultures practiced infanticide and there was no questioning it because of cultural relativism. But we're not even talking living, out of the womb babies here, we're talking about zygotes. Tiny cells that if the average pro-life person looked at under the microscope, probably couldn't even tell you it was a human being in formation. You can't compare killing an embryo to killing a person because an embryo has no value for life. Hell, a 1 year old has no value in life. They don't know how precious life is or how great it is going to be. But again, we're not killing infants here. We're killing zygotes that have no meaning in this world. This is a choice, not a choice like choosing which food you want to eat or "going off on a repercussion-less killing spree", but a choice left up to the people that decided to start the matter. According to this logic we should allow people to kill one year olds, since they don't have any value in life.
  22. That would be amazing. Having a pool of gelatin I mean, now the drowning part. :P
  23. Mmm. Haven't had one in forever though.
  24. [hide=] There's absolutely no explosion when you split hydrogen from oxygen, sorry. I think she meant split the atoms themselves, not the molecule as a whole. And hydrogen atoms/oxygen atoms just explode when you break them down? This doesn't make sense at all... at any rate, if you do manage to make it explode, you do realize it is at an ATOMIC level? Errrr.... we're still talking about a purified drop of water, and the fact that the cutter doesn't work by using a single drop of water pretty much concludes that I'm still right. I'm sure if you reused the same drop over and over it would eventually cut you. The droplet of water would gain too much friction energy which will heat it up to evaporation before it ever cuts my skin. Plus, like cannibalism said, such a machine does not/will not ever exist because it would be physically impossible. Do you know how an atomic bomb works? I can assure you, it's at an atomic level as well. wow, you've opened my eyes. I had no idea the atomic bomb worked on an atomic level. For all of you who think splitting atoms can kill you: do us all a favour and wikipedia atomic bombs, and understand the concept of nuclear fission. And for the second time, you cannot just shoot a droplet of water out of a cannon. It would disperse immediately and thus will be unable to kill you. The argument of jet water cutters is also invalid since it uses abrasive substances to actually cut the metal, and we're talking about a pure droplet of water. It also relies on a constant supply of high pressure water, because, again, ONE droplet of water cannot kill you. [/hide] I wasn't questioning your powers of observation, nor intelligence. It's just a common scientific fact that energy within an atom is large. Once you separate the compound, you can indeed split the atoms that made up it. In this case oxygen being the atom of choice, as it's heavier.
